History

Established in 2000.

Both the owners and staff of Running Wild have been running since childhood and the older of us have been running since the late 70′s/early 80′s. Paul and Cherie Epstein took their passion for endurance sport and opened Running Wild in 2000. Professionally fitting running shoes started in Gulf Breeze and moved through Downtown Pensacola while evolving into a complete training, injury prevention and fitness resource.

By 2008, Running Wild moved to East Pensacola Heights and expanded to become the fitness hub for the Gulf Coast. The stand alone building houses daily runs, clinics, special events and packet pickup for local races.

We love the communities we live in and it shows at our newest location in Fairhope, Alabama. Serving the greater Mobile and Gulf Shores areas, Running Wild Fairhope opened in May, 2010. With training programs, group runs and special events being added to the calendar in Fairhope customers enjoy the same community at both locations.

I come here in need of buying a pair of shoes and i found this place. The staff are very friendly and i was impressed by the color selection of them. Many kinds of shoes to choose from. After nearly an hour i finally buy one. They didn’t feel rush because of my picky character. I will return again and keep up the good work guys.

Stopped in here today for shoes since I was due a new pair and decided to go ahead and let them fit me. I’ve been wearing the wrong size shoe for 3 years!!! Long story short, I went home, laced up to run and had the most wonderful pain free run!!! Great store! Even if you think you know what you’re doing, having an expert help you is never wrong! First time customer who will be getting all my future running needs met by Running Wild!

Great store and knowledgeable staff. They will figure out what kind of runner you are and what kind of shoe you need. You don’t have to be ashamed if you are not a marathon runner — it’s for every type of runner. I will definitely go back.
Unfortunately, I do think I offended the previous guy who was helping me when I was shocked my foot was a full size bigger than last year. I told him I was willing to try on that size but it was very different than my normal shoe size. He seemed irritated and disappeared and sent out someone else, I believe her name was Shannon, to deal with me while he helped a new customer. So I felt pretty horrible about being deemed a «difficult» customer. Nonetheless, Shannon was incredibly helpful and very friendly and I ended up with a new pair of shoes that I love.

If you are running anything more than a mile on treadmill, you need to come here and get a real pair of shoes. They watch you run, let you try on and run in at least three different pairs of shoes suited for your feet, and you come out with a real pair of running shoes that will help your body much more than ordering those cute nike frees off the website. Yes the shoes aren’t cheap but neither is knee surgery ;) They also give a NICE military discount!

I shopped for my last pair of shoes at Road Runner. They had me walk on their fancy stride analyzer machine a few times to determine the best shoe for me. Seth did it a Running Wild just by watching me walk and came up with the same shoe needs in half the time – actually less. He brouught out options that fit my budget and knew about each shoe that he gave me. Very impressive, super courteous!

Went into the store with my fiancé so he could find out what type of running shoes he should be wearing. The associate was wonderful and very knowledgeable about all the products. Nice atmosphere and great music playing the background. I think I might go back for myself.

Great place to go if your feet hurt. The experts here will watch you run and care about what you’re going to purchase. Comfort isn’t always style, remember, only if you’re lucky :)
They don’t have a wide variety of clothing for running, but have some stuff.
If you want to get into running just ask, they have programs and group runs throughout the week.
They just opened an even smaller store in Fairhope.
3.5 stars for variety of running gear, not just shoes. Best place in town though.

I’ll caveat this with the fact that I have not been at this store since 2007.
I visited the store on 3 occasions and each visit was met with great customer service. The staff were always very helpful and knowledgeable. I recently called them regarding a poor transaction I had with another specialty running store and was told that all I had to do was provide my name and they could look up the shoes that I previously bought and would mail them to me. Also, their return policy is a flexible 30 days on worn shoes. I will be purchasing my shoes from them over the phone from now on.

Friendly and helpful staff. Best place in Pensacola for a gait analysis and aid in finding the correct shoes for your feet. I used to have achy knees, shin splints, and sore ankles, but then the running wild staff helped me out and I’ve been running pain free for 3 years.
Many accessories available also, including running shirts and shorts, triathlon clothing, nutritional supplements, various running belts, lights, hats, etc.

Running Wild is the premier running store in Northwest Florida. They also offer information and assistance on other types of fitness. Running Wild is a sponsor of many local races. The staff is well versed in their trade and can offer helpful suggestions on shoe, clothing and accessory purchases. They can study your stride and recommend the proper shoe, as well as advise you on training programs. They also have weekly runs and special programs for groups, such as new runners who want to train for their first 5K run.

Running Wild is great store for avid runners. They have everything you need to support your running hobby and more. Shoes are quite expensive and can be found cheaper somewhere else, but may not be as good quality. Plus they assess your gait to help you find the best running shoes possible.
