You have just purchased a brand new (well, to you) pair of shoes form the local vintage pre-owned shop. You cannot be blamed for this purchase. You were just doing some innocent window shopping, intending to keep your money in your wallet that day, when you see them. They are sitting in the window, staring you down hard, all strappy and with a slight heel. Like a puppy with watery eyes and sleek fur, you fall in love immediately. You need to have these shoes, and you go right on inside and purchase them.
The next night, you go out on the town in your new shoes and the evening is glorious. You could not ask for better luck. Everything that happens is perfect. You get to cut in line at the club, a bartender’s mistake means you get free bottle service at your table, and then there is the icing on the cake: the local Pensacola food truck worker who makes your sandwich at the end of the night gives you a free sandwich when she sees your great pair of kicks.
Your new pair of shoes are magic. You did not think you believed in such things, but these shoes have changed your mind. With such a lucky pair of footwear, how could you not?
The next night, you slip them on and prepare for what seems like a promising first date. But, as you head for the door, one of the straps on your shoe snaps. Your new pair of magic shoes just broke! What are you going to do now? They are lucky, and now that you have experienced their majesty, you simply cannot go through life without them…
