They try to sell you things you AC doesn’t need. I called my regular company and they couldn’t believe what this AiRite said was wrong and their inflated prices. Beware when dealing with any AC company that you don’t know personally or have been using in the past. I have been using Lee Collins Air for 28 years and never been ripped of by high inflated prices or any services that I did not need.
They also try to see you an expensive service plan to boot. If you buy then they say the repairs are less.
BEWARE of cheap offers as they will get you in the end if you are not wise and know about your cooling and heating system.

My AC wasn’t blowing cold so I found a Groupon to have AiRite come out and look at my unit. The tech recommended a new capacitor and since my freon was low that it would need to be refilled, it was possible someone had harvested the freon out of the lines if the house had been sitting for a while or I possibly had a leak. To find the leak would have cost $ 900 for a dye test and no mention of a pressure test. So instead of assuming the worst the tech refilled with freon and was on his way, $ 570. A day later all the freon had leaked out. After a week and a half or so I had replaced the capacitors myself and called the tech back out at which point I was told there was a leak since there was no pressure in the lines when checked. The tech then recommended a leak search which took 5 minutes to find visibly and then a pressure test confirmed that air was escaping from the suspected leak source. Another 5 minutes to solder the leak closed and then a pressure test to make sure the leak had sealed and there were no other leaks. Pressure seemed to hold so the tech used a vacuum pump to suck everything out of the line, which incidentally ended up with oil being shot all over the exterior house wall. The tech then refilled with freon and wanted to charge $ 850 but because the leak search and repair was an easy find and fix I was able to get a discount to $ 700. I paid close to $ 1300, the leak issue could have been resolved the first time out had a pressure test been suggested the first time and shooting oil all over the wall? Regardless of whether you can clean it off you are an experienced tech, shouldn’t you have known? I don’t feel the services were worth $ 1300. There are more professional alternatives and better pricings else where.

I had just closed on my house a few weeks ago and received a promotional call from Airite offering a $ 19.95 tune up special as a new home owner. No gimmicks or strings attached, I thought «why not, couldn’t hurt for $ 19.95». So I made an 8am appointment for the following week.
On the day of the appointment, the technician called me at 7:45am to tell me he would be there in 30 minutes. He arrived at 8:30… I told him I could only stay an hour as I had other appointments. Before he got started he asked me questions about the house; how recently had I purchased the house, do I have a home warranty?
He was packed up and in his vehicle writing up the invoice within 30 minutes. He told me that he didn’t check any of the operating pressures because it was cold outside and he didn’t think his gauges would work properly… OK? He quickly went over the invoice and let me know that Airite could complete the repairs for $ 100 and that my home warranty would cover the labor.
After reviewing the invoice, he listed a few things that needed repair/​replacement in the diagnosis area. The part/​work description area was blank… nothing noted… no work done???
I thought I was supposed to have received the following:
Calibrate and level thermostat (verify programming is correct)
Clean/​change customer-​supplied air filters
Brush and check clean burners for wear
Monitor volts/​amps on fan motor
Lubricate and inspect bearings for wear
Inspect indoor coil for cleanliness and leaks
Flush/​treat condensate drain with anti-​algae
Inspect condenser coil
Monitor operating pressure of refrigerant
Inspect safety devices for proper operation
Inspect disconnect box for proper rating and installation
Tighten all electrical connections throughout the system
Test/​inspect contactors for burned, pitted contacts
Inspect electrical system for exposed wiring
Test ignition system for safe and proper operation
Test and inspect capacitors for amp draw and integrity
Inspect fan blade
Rinse exterior coil and remove debris
Inspect service valves for proper operation and no leaks
Measure temperature difference (supply/​return)
Inspect ductwork for energy loss and cleanliness
Monitor compressor for proper amperage, volt draw, and megaohm windings
Remove combustible debris from around the condenser
Measure and adjust gas pressure for proper operation; test for leaks
Clean upper and lower combustion vents
Taking advantage of the inexpensive $ 19.95 tune up sounds like a great deal. What it amounted to was 1) a waste of my time and 2) sending someone out to my house to see if there was opportunity to get more $$ out of me.
Even if the diagnosis was accurate, I won’t be using Airite.

Know what you’re getting.
I signed up for a $ 40 HAVC tune up, after recieving a sales call from AiRite. The technician who came out was very polite and professional.
After the technician left, though I ended up feeling like I got more of a list of repairs they’d like to charge me for, than an actual tune-​up for my $ 40. They had a lot of items on their cooling tune up list, but, as it turns out, very few on the heating list. Because I felt like I had been a bit ripped off, I called the store and spoke to the manager. I’m so glad I did. He was very nice, explained what the technician actually did (turns out the tech just didn’t explain it well), and he went the extra mile to make sure that I felt right about their service. He clearly cares about the reputation of his business.
All in all, I would use them again because good customer service matters a lot to me, and I feel like I got that. Just be careful that you know what you’re getting before you sign up for tune up.

I was getting a maintenance check and the tech, Freddy, identified 2 problems: my coils needed to be cleaned and I needed a capacitor. I’m a young women and don’t know anything about the A/​C unit, and didn’t want to get taken advantage of. Freddy was so awesome, he took pictures of the problems to show me, he explained what it is how they work, what would happen if I get those fixed and if I didn’t. I wasn’t sure what the going rate is so he showed me, wrote everything up, and I called someone who knew the A/​C business to tell me if it was a good rate and if I even really needed it done; he said the rate was great, and given that I haven’t checked on my A/​C unit in at least 4 years, that sounds right I would need those done. Freddy was awesome, courteous, on time, knowledgeable, and best yet, didn’t «screw me over» with price or telling me I need to get something done when I didn’t.

Had a different company try to diagnose some issues with one of our air conditioning units just yesterday. The technician ended up condemning our unit and expected our family to get through a week in Arizona without sufficient air conditioning until they get parts in. This technician lacked any compassion for my family and didn’t seem to care that we would be relying on an air conditioning unit half the size of the broken one to cool a large home, while waiting for them to make their repairs. He was unprofessional and didn’t seem to know what he was talking about anyway, even though my own knowledge of air conditioning units is very limited.
Thankfully, we were able to set up a next day appointment with AiRite, after speaking with Monty (Supervisor with AiRite). Our technician, Mike, just left our home and I couldn’t be happier. He was very polite, respectful, and had a great attitude. Most importantly, Mike is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain my air conditioning unit’s anatomy, which I appreciated so much! From start to finish, Mike was very thorough and even left us with tips on continued maintenance and potentially lowering our monthly bills! To top off this wonderful experience, the prices with AiRite are very reasonable and their response time is great! Thank you to both Monty and Mike for helping us out in a pinch! You guys are top notch! Highly, highly recommend AiRite! :)

Great experience with new residential unit installation. Good communication, competitive pricing/​value, quick scheduling, and good follow up. Recommended.
