Joey & Gina’s can trace its roots back to the 1930’s in San Francisco, California. Original Joe’s Restaurant on Taylor Street in San Francisco opened in 1937 and its philosophy was simple; serve the customers high quality food in large portions at a fair price. There was
nothing fancy about Original Joe’s, it was a comfortable place to eat and drink, with a friendly staff and a family feeling. Anyone was welcome at Original Joe’s, from bankers in suits to ladies shopping downtown to kids coming in after a ball game. It made no difference how you dressed or where you were going, Joe’s was always accommodating.
In 1956 the Rocca family expanded Original Joe’s to San Jose, California and opened on
the corner of first street and San Carlos, in the middle of downtown, where they have been serving the people of the south bay for over 58 years. The menu has changed to reflect the changing times, but one thing that remains is our desire to continue offering the highest quality foods at reasonable prices, in large portions.
Joey & Gina’s carries on this tradition in a new, contemporary look. The recipes from the 1930’s remain, along with the fresh, high quality foods that original Joe’s has always been famous for, but the menu and the atmosphere are a reflection of America today, a casual, comfortable place to relax and dine with friends and family, to enjoy a game on TV or sit outside and have a cocktail and enjoy the wonderful desert climate.
