Event: Our son’s 8 year old birthday
Mad Science: Arrived an hour late followed by the big «explosion» science trick that didn’t work after 15 minutes of kids counting down over and over.
Our Mad Scientist: I have to give cricket, our mad scientist, credit as she we very nice and expressed being sorry for being late otherwise this would have been a one star event.
Cost: $ 250 for entertaining our 18 kids for an hour; no discounts for being an hour late.
Result: Arriving an hour late resulted in melted cupcakes and many of the kids having to leave before the event was over. I know I wouldn’t have charged full price after something like that, but not even an offer to discount the $ 250 premium price tag.
Summary: I hope they chalk this up to a learning experience and it doesn’t happen to others… a child’s birthday is a premium event and they deserve better than what we got.
