History

Established in 2014.

Roundwind’s founder, Joe Altman, has been preparing his own tax returns his whole life. When he began preparing returns for family members and his own businesses, he took the initiative to get more education in tax preparation.

Joe’s full-​time job for more than ten years was as a business journalist for The Associated Press. That job ignited Joe’s interest in management and accounting, and he decided to form Roundwind Bookkeeping & Tax to provide tax and accounting services to a wider range of individuals and small businesses.

Joe is a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor, a Xero Certified Advisor, and a FreshBooks Certified Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and the National Association of Tax Professionals, and an Arizona Notary Public.

Joe founded Roundwind Bookkeeping & Tax after more than ten years as a business journalist for The Associated Press. He was a supervisor on AP’s global business news desk in New York and then became autos editor, overseeing coverage of the American auto industry’s crisis during the recent recession.

Joe’s job as a business journalist ignited an interest in management and accounting, and he became a part-​time bookkeeper and consultant to a small company. A few years later, Roundwind was created.

Joe has nearly twenty years of experience preparing business and individual tax returns, and he continues to pursue education in advanced tax matters to serve his clients.
