We just found out this week that the whole house humidifer Wilson Bros. put in as part of a top end HVAC system has never been operational. They forgot to put a relay in and burned out the motor. Two years and we’ve never actually had a working humidifier!
We also had them spec out the system knowing we were putting an addition on. They said the units we picked were more than enough for what was planned. Well, the addition is on, and we had to buy a THIRD air handler to heat and cool it.
We’d call them to make them make good on their slipshod work, but considering we had to threaten legal action to get them to live up to the 1 year service agreement we negotiated, we’ll just cut our losses and move on. Ironically, it was the humidifer unit that was the subject of the service call that they initially refused to make for 4 days because it was «not an emergency.» Somehow, even upon servicing it, they failed to notice it wasn’t actually working.
As a homeowner, you depend on professionals to know what they are doing. These guys didn’t. And their service after the sale — after they have your money — is horrible.
