At Goodman’s we strive to combine the most palatable culinary experience possible with first-​class service that is unmatched by any other establishment. We specialize in Southern-​styled BBQ but we also serve fantastic burgers, steaks, and a limited selection of seafood items. Recently we have developed an extensive catering menu and feature full-​service catering for all events.

History

Established in 1972.

Goodman’s was originally a Ken’s Bar-​B-​Que franchise. Later in 70s the franchise owners began leasing the restaurant to Floyd Goodman who had worked with Ken’s Bar-​B-​Que in Lake City. Mr. Goodman eventually bought the restaurant outright and re-​branded it as Goodman’s. Mr. Goodman operated the business until February of 2005 when he transferred ownership to his former waitress of 17 years, Sandy Chester. Since that time Sandy has continued to expand Goodman’s reputation beyond Perry and also established extensive catering services.

Sandy began working at Goodman’s at the age of 14 as a cashier and waitress. During this time she mastered the art of customer service and established a fantastic reputation with her customers and community. In 2005, after working at Goodman’s for 17 years, Sandy bought the restaurant from the namesake owner, Floyd Goodman. She has now owned and operated the business for 6 years and has made great strides to expand Goodman’s reputation and business throughout the region. Sandy pioneered a full-​service catering operation that has blossomed into a significant portion of her business that services north and central Florida. Sandy continues to innovate within her business and works tirelessly to make improvements.
