I started going to Meson about 4 months ago. At the beginning the food was great but unfortunately my last visit was about one month ago and I have never been back due to the fact that I found a hair in the Moro de guandules that I ordered. I had to pull it out of the rice and the waitress pretended like she didn’t see it and just walked away. That ruined my whole meson experience and now I can’t never go back.

Came here for lunch as I was trying to find a new place for lunch. Not bad, I must say. I ordered the oxtail and arroz con gondules. For $ 8 I got a Styrofoam container of mainly rice and 3 pieces of ox tail.
The food was good. Nothing particularly memorable. Very middle of the road place.
I do like that they have their food set up in a hot buffet style and you can choose what you want so you don’t have to wait.

Yummy food! Didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as we did! I had the chivo (goat) and my friends had patitas de cerdo (pig’s feet) with rice and beans. Everything was delicious. The goat was a bit gamey, however. All in all I’d recommend this place and would actually go back if I were to visit Perth Amboy again!

Great food, service is great definitely coming back over and over! Food is always available on food steam table.
Selection are from chicken, beef, oxtail, chicharon, three different kind of rice, beans, tripe, green bananas in onions, yuca, and ribs.
My mouths watering just listing the selection.
I wish I lived nearby. I would definitely sacrifices body for this place.

This is one of my favorite Latin restaurants. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very authentic, to my taste. One thing to be aware of is that there isn’t much English spoken here so if you don’t speak enough Spanish to get by, you may find it difficult to enjoy your time.
The Combo #3 is the favorite of my family, however, as a vegetarian, I enjoy the Mofongo con queso.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for quick, low-​cost Latin food.

Nice place to eat. Restaurant is clean and seems organized. Food is good. You can get more out of your money from the buffet style menu.
