I prefer this pizza over anyone else, the thin crust and sauce is perfect with a sprinkle of cheese, it has been a favorite of mine and my friends for many years, I was very happy to have them re open in town again.

yuk. Girl working there was sweet so I gave it two stars. I thought it had been around 80 years, but reading up on this place now, I see it closed, moved, reopened, they used to have a real brick oven — now it’s gas, etc. Something must have gotten lost. it was soggy with too much cheese and worst of all they sprinkled parmesan cheese on it. If I wanted parmesan cheese on it I would have asked, I hate parmesan cheese, now my pizza smelled like the cook’s feet.

Great pie, I don’t miss visiting my ex-wife’s family, but do miss going to Sciortinos! Some of the best pies in the entire NY region I thought. Bring it home and don’t eat the crusts and then stack them up as you devoured the pie.

Great pizza! Haven’t tried anything else on the menu so I can only vouch for their pies. Like the thin pies and sweet sauce that they use. Usually sit down, service is friendly and the food is prepared quickly.

If you’re looking for an old school pizzeria that serves a killer thin crust pie, then you’ve found your place. Don’t expect any fancy dining as this location mainly serves as take out only. Also don’t come in here looking for single slices as they serve whole pies only but there is no need to worry as you won’t have a problem putting a nice size dent in these pizzas. On both of my visits, I have ordered a large pie and have eaten a majority of it, only to eat the remaining 3 slices later in the day. There is a nice sauce to cheese balance which is held together by a thin yet sturdy crust. Needless to say, this combination works well in the pizza world. Be forewarned that what really makes Sciortino’s unique is their sauce. It’s tasty yet also very sweet. So keep that in mind. As long as your like your slices thin and sweet, then you can expect to enjoy some of the best pizza in Central Jersey!

So it’s Pizza right, wrong. Anyone can throw sauce and cheese on a pie and sell it. They do it right here. Not to be confused with the restaurant/bar just south in South Amboy this pizzeria provides a quality and quite tasty product. I was shocked that such a dumpy looking joint in a dubious part of town delivered a perfectly thin slightly crispy with a nice medium between sweet and acid sauce. Perhaps a lil more on the sweet side. The end product will bring you back for more. If it’s about the sauce then it stands to reason that other products will be a hit. I believe this to be true. Their veal parm sammich at less than $ 7 was not only a good value, but left me licking my lips for more. I wouldn’t say high quality milk fed grade A veal, but a decent slab that satisfied my taste buds and tum tum. Now it’s not easy to discount the surroundings or neighborhood, especially at night. The place is in desperate need of a make over in fact even an 80’s design implementation may be better suited. There are some cool old clippings on the wall showing the long history of this pizza place, but you can’t eat the walls nor would you want to lick them in fear of eboli, lol. Barely sanitary. Too small to change your mind. Definitely a take out or delivery exclusively. Worthy of a quick bite to go or better yet order in.

Found hair on my pizza. Soggy crust from excess grease. Definitely do not recommend it.

I’ve always had fast delivery from here, and their pizza is unique and delicious. The sauce is a little sweeter then you would typically have. Definitely recommend it

I always used to order from here but lately they have not been consistent. It’s basically a hit or miss, sometimes it’s good sometimes it’s terrible. Last time I ordered the pizza kept breaking when I was holding the slice and they put too much oil, it was dripping in oil. I hope they keep it consistent then I will continue to order.

This is nice family place. Not fancy not slouchy. Casual attire. The bar is beautiful and stocked. The dining room is big and cozy. Temperature in there is always good. The pizza is thin and crispy purrrrfect if you ask me. The sauce is sweet and tomatoe-y and the cheese is not cheap unmeltable grease. The entrees are delicious. I get food here at least 2xs a month. Its delicious. Seriously try it for yourself! Its nice to grab a drink and split a pie or sit down with family and catch up.

Yes, it’s back, but not even close to bring the same pizza place that we used to love. The last couple of times we ordered pizza, the dough was stale and the pizza tasted like it had been made much earlier in the day, but thrown in the oven again to reheat it.

need to write this, because my family has always bought pizza from Sciortino’s since I was little. The South Amboy resturant is the only one to buy normal Sciortino’s pizza period. The satellite establishment in Perth Amboy is horrible, because they do not adhere t the same standards that I expect from Sciortino’s. The size, and contents on the pizza will disappoint anyone who knows what this pizza should be. Hope the owners read this and fix the problem, before this place destroys there reputation !!!

When they first opened/reopened in Perth Amboy, the pie I had sucked. I recently moved close and tried them again. The pizza was as delicious as the pies Id been getting from South Amboy over the years. Oh and customer service is not their strong suit, but the pizza is so good I can’t even take a star off for that.

They’re back… and I hear they’ll also be opening another site by the waterfront soon. Cannot wait for that so i can combine great thin-crust pizza with a view of the water, sailboats etc. For now i’m satisfied with the storefront on New Brunswick Ave close enough to the old site that it’s a nice welcome home from work as you enter Perth Amboy. The other reviews are right in that the South Amboy location lacked consistency, but the new site in Perth Amboy seems to be on point each time they make a pizza, or other dish. We’ve enjoyed both take-out and unlike others rather quick delivery. To insure a hot pie we often pick it up and cannot complain. The staff has remained friendly on the phone and then warm and welcoming once you walk in to their restaurant. It has limited seating, but with the hopes of a larger site by the waterfront that won’t be an issue for long. Met one of the owners who is an attorney and he made us feel completely welcome and«at home» again in a spot i remember with great memories as a kid. I reminded him how my family would bring their Thanksgiving Turkey to the old restaurant to be cooked in their incredible brick oven. Oh I wish they’d bring that option back… but for now i’m simply glad that a landmark site in Perth Amboy has made it’s triumphant return. Now i’m off to order a Sausage and Pepperoni pie.

So happy it’s back in town! Best pizza I’ve ever had! Delivery is kind of slow though. I rather pick it up. I always get extra sauce on my pizza, soooo delicious!

Have eaten their pizza for over thirty years. Sweet sauce this crust pizza cooked well done the way pizza should be. The sausage is excellent made with fennel and rough chopped over the pie. Get a plain and a sausage you compare the two. The pizza is saucy if you don’t like a wet pie that is precisely cooked dark this pizza isn’t for you. But you should try it either way. Maybe we can convert you.

Our neighbor recommended this place bc her college-age grandson and friends raved about it. We loved it! My kids devoured the pizza and my boyfriend and I stole a couple slices –delicious!- in addition to our entrees. There’s a bar on one side and dining on the other. A little loud, but not a complaint. Will definitely return.

Best pizza in NJ! Happy the family is back in Perth Amboy. This is thin crust, brick oven pizza. Order the sausage pie, it is the best thing on the menu. Also, the insalata is a great starter. Some don’t love the fact that they have a sweet tomato sauce. Normally I hate this myself, but here it works, especially with the sausage. The brick oven caramelizes their sticky sauce to perfection. They are open on weekends now. The first couple deliveries were slow, but the last two arrived in decent time and hot. The staff is always very nice. It is a family business that seems to value their history. I hope Perth Amboy appreciates this gem today more than they did in the past. suck it, Vas!

Driving through Perth Amboy for work, I made a very interesting discovery; a glowing Sciortino’s sign right on New Brunswick ave where the old restaurant used to be. Initially, I thought I was seeing things so I busted an illegal uturn, only to discover that my fave pizza from a decade ago is back in Perth Amboy. About 10 yrs ago, the corrupt PA mayor Joe Vas eminent domained their restaurant, forcing them to move to South Amboy. The outcome, while initially good, quickly turned inconsistent and on occasion it was downright terrible. Sadly, I wrote off Sciortino’s from places I’d dine at. Well this new location hasmbroughtnthem back. While they no longer have a true brick over– this one is a gas burner with a brick deck– the outcome is amazing. That sweet sauce I used to love with a nice charred up crust. I really can’t describe the pie any other way but as follows: if you like the old Sciortino’s you will love this pizza!!!
