, Eliot James Salon commenced its16 year reign under its original ownership of two well respected stylists in the beauty industry. By creatively combining their middle names to form the salon’s name, Eliot James has been serving Petaluma for over 16 years and continues now under the new ownership of Susy McGovern and Deborah Schukler.

We proudly own Eliot James, a renown hair salon in the beautiful downtown The passion that first inspired us to become hairstylists has never diminished in all these years. Our commitment, dedication and inspiration are those of a true artist that continue to stay up to date with the latest innovations of our industry.

I sent my daughter to get her hair done for homecoming. She was there 20 minutes and was charged $ 55. Picture is on Unilocal,the girl in tears. Very disappointed.

I have recently started to benefit from the excellent professionalism and skills that Angela extends at this Salon. I am ultra impressed with her color expertise and cutting skills. I am so delighted to have met Angela for my hair needs. I can say without a doubt that my hair has never looked this great. I am so impressed and am sharing my impressions with my friends.

I followed my stylist, Laura Tarrant here. She always does an amazing job with my cut and color. This past weekend she did hair for myself and my bridesmaids for my wedding. She was attentive and didn’t let us leave with a single piece of hair out of place. She always does an amazing job. I wouldn’t think of going to anyone but her!
Also, I usually park in the garage right around the corner without issues but it can sometimes get crowded on weekends or during lunch on weekdays.

I highly recommend Susy McGovern at Eliot James Salon on Washington which is within walking distance of our neighborhood. She is one of the owners and is also a colorist. She really listens to her customers. Her work is wonderful and the salon atmosphere is welcoming for all ages and personal styles.

Cyndi is one of the best stylists I’ve ever been to. She recently cut and colored my hair and I honestly haven’t had such a great cut/​color in many, many years. No more bad hair days for me! She is patient, really listens to what I wanted and the color she made up for me was amazing and exactly what I envisioned. Highly recommend her. Prices are very reasonable and free parking around the corner! It’s a win-​win!

Deborah was so accommodating, from calling and setting the appointment to making me feel super comfortable in the salon. When I first walked in I had an idea of what I wanted in my hair cut and had no clue what color I wanted to have. Right away Deborah knew what would look great. She sat me down and just started doing her thing. Next thing I knew I had an amazing hair color and cut! She also gave me great suggestions for how to style my new doo. Thanks so much! I’ve been going to Cyndi for years. I am very particular about my hair, but Cyndi honestly does the best job I’ve ever seen. She is so thorough and detailed in the haircut, and the colors she mixes up for my highlights are amazing. She’s truly an artist. I recommend her to absolutely all of my friends, and I can’t say enough good things.

I am particularly selective when it comes to haircutters, and I must say that Deborah is among the best in the business. Precise and quick to understand what I want, she consistently amazes me with her expertise. When I first came to Eliot James Salon, I was transitioning from long hair to relatively short and was naturally a bit hesitant but she took plenty of time to listen and to look at pictures of models with me before beginning. She made sure that I was happy with my haircut before I left and I never felt rushed.
I am quite at home in her stylishly renovated post-​Victorian shop, and a session with her is always relaxing. This salon is pretty much the opposite of Supercuts: if you are looking for a high quality haircut and a soothing, stress-​free experience, make an appointment with Deborah at Eliot James Salon.

Eron is AWESOME! My husband is in the military and we move every 2 — 4 years, so I always find myself searching for the perfect stylist who can deal with my fine hair. Luckily I found Eron and will be going to him for the next 3 ½ years until we transfer. Highly recommend him!

I have been going to Deborah here for many years. I am always 100% satisfied and overall in love with how my hair looks and feels. She does amazing color correction as well. I have had a few «oops» moments dying my own hair and she always comes to the rescue and gives me exactly what I want. Deborah uses great high quality products and takes her time to make your hair perfect. I highly recommend her for cuts, color, and styling. The salon is also very clean, nice, and friendly, a great place and a relaxing atmosphere!

There’s something about this salon because I followed my hair dresser, Susy as well. I have been going to her for 10 years and absolutely love her! I have never been disappointed with my hair. I Go to her with a style in mind and she exceeds my expectations. She always takes her time with my hair and after she is done cutting it she always styles it in a really cute way. This is a very nice salon as well. Very clean and parking close by.

I followed my stylist Lisa Augustus here. Lisa has been doing my hair for over a decade and she has always done amazing work.
The salon itself is modern yet comfortable. The walls have that exposed brick you see all over downtown Petaluma. The staff is always friendly and eager to chat. I am glad to make the trip down to Petaluma to see Lisa as it is one of the nicest salons she has ever worked at.
I go here every 8 weeks or so and I have had plenty of time to observe the other stylists at work. Although I am loyal to Lisa, I must say that the stylists at Elliot James do amazing work. I am constantly impressed every time I go to the salon!
