A week later, I brought my 7 year old daughter with Autism to see Dr. Wong. This man is just hands down the best eye doctor in Sonoma County!
He was just great with her. Super patient and made the process for me, as the mom, painless. I’m so grateful to Dr. Wong for making my daughters first experience a great one! His front office secretary is very kind as well. She booked us as their last appointment so we didn’t have to wait and also, in case, my daughter made inappropriate noises! Ha! She didnt. But, it was nice to know they were wonderful at booking our appointment when they did, since I was concerned about it! Thank you for listening to me and taking all of my concerns into consideration! Wonderful practice!

I cannot say enough positive comments about Dr Wong’s eye practice and his office manager Tanya Reyes. I picked up my new eye glasses and low and behold… I can actually see EVERYTHING! Thank YOU Dr Wong for a thorough eye exam. Thank YOU Tanya for your expert suggestion for which frames and lens were best for me. Simply the best!

My coworker recommended me to Dr. Wong and I’m so glad she did!!! I agree with all of the other glowing reviews on here too. He took his time and really figured out my new contact lens prescriptions, though it was on the fence of staying the same. He even does a distance test, having you go outside the room to look past the parking lot with a sample set of lenses compared to the old ones. It helped give me that 100% verification that it would be correct! He was not rushed at all and very kind, gentle, and soft-​spoken — but also really funny! I felt totally comfortable asking questions. I told him my contacts were a little blurry in the morning and he explained the toric lenses have a line on them meaning that’s the bottom anchor — so if I put them in with that aligned, it would take less time to adjust. WOW — no one else ever told me that!
My last eye doctor (also local but I won’t name names here) rushed me and saw me for maybe 10 minutes (plus time for dilation where I had to sit and wait in the office for nearly an hour while she took other patients!) And when I asked her about Lasik, she just had the receptionist give me a pamphlet, no discussion. Dr. Wong did the dilation but patiently waited for it to work and didn’t keep me waiting any longer than necessary. Much appreciated! And he even brought up Lasik as I had marked it on the paperwork as a future possibility and he gave me any pros/​cons. They even do pre– and post — op appointments for it in his office!
In addition, the receptionist Tanya was really cool, personable, and funny too — and got me in to see him in a reasonable time, both in scheduling and less than a 5 minute wait once paperwork was filled out. PLUS she was taking donations for the Valley Fire animals while I was there too. How kind! She mentioned the VSP discount plan over the phone, gave me specific pricing without me even asking, and never rushed me.
I can’t recommend this business enough and am almost looking forward to my next exam next year and for my new contact prescription to come in! Great and kind service!

He’s a brilliant technician with a fun sense of humor! He did a COMPLETE eye exam, not the usual in-​and-​out! Well worth your time, a true professional.

Dr. Wong has been the most wonderful O.D. He has served our family for over 10yrs and I have to say he is like the «Eye Angel». We have had a few eye emergencies over the years and he has been there and saved my son’s sight in his left eye by being prompt and accurate in desperate situations. Just the other day my husband has a shard of metal lodged in his eye. I called Dr. Wong and he didn’t make him wait. He saw him right away. Same with my son each time his retina detached. He’s an amazing caring doctor. A rarity in this day and age.

I love Dr Wong! And Tanya is awesome too. The customer service is out of this world. It’s as if you were taken back to the 1960s — as you get very personal attention. My vision plan expired… however I could always go back to Dr. Wong’s office and ask questions, get them to explain my prescription, fulfill a warranty on a pair of glasses I purchased, or just to tighten the screws on my glasses. It truly is amazing service. If all the places I go for health related services Dr. Wong’s is the best! Bobbi

I’m not a big fan of eye check ups. I honestly have never had such an amazing checkup before. Dr. Wong was patient, calm and he explained everything he was doing and why. I brought up my interest in colored contacts and he was really helpful and even let me try out a few which was very fun. He was thorough enough and made me feel positive in my decision of ordering contacts for a training with him. Also Tanya is so sweet! She helped me pick out what color of contacts I wanted. Both of them made my appointment a really positive experience which is rare because normally any checkup appointment for me is bland and not memorable.

I have been seeing Dr. Wong for a couple years. He is truly excellent — very thorough and explains things well and is very present and compassionate during the exam. The bonus is that his front desk person, Tanya, is also great to work with — she knows a lot about lenses/​eyeglasses and basic eye issues and makes you feel that she has your back — if she can think of a way to help you save money on whatever you need, she lets you know. She is very direct and supportive too. As I have just entered the era of aging eyes and needing reading glasses and navigating whether it’s time to embrace progressives, I feel I am in great hands. I send my son and husband there too. My husband also appreciated how thorough and informative his eye exam was and my son thought his eye exam was fun and interesting (it helped that the conclusion was that he didn’t need glasses yet!)

I just recently moved to Petaluma. I found Dr. Wong’s office off of Unilocal and could’t have been more impressed with the services they provided. Dr. Wong is patient and knowledgeable with any concerns you might have. Tanya runs the front like a well oiled machine. She goes above and beyond for her guests that walk through the door. If you get a chance and are in need of any thing optical related issues go check them out. They are an amazing team. They will make you feel most welcome as soon as you walk in. Thanks again!

Dr. Wong is my new eye doctor. I went to him on the recommendation of a friend and took the time to double-​check his Unilocal reviews before I made the decision to book my first exam with him. Unfortunately, my prior eye doctor (Dr. Campion) decided to sell his practice and I chose not to stay with the new group that took over.
Dr. Wong’s eye exam was very thorough and he took the time to explain everything he was doing and why he was doing what he was doing. The good news is that I don’t need to replace my glasses for now. But glasses are only part of the exam… making sure that all parts of the eye are healthy, as well, is VERY important and that’s why I chose him as my new OD.
Tanya, his receptionist is very pleasant and provides great customer service!

Computers and screens abound, I felt my ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision slipping, and it was time to have it checked out. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous having never had a proper and full eye exam ever in my life. Dr Wong and Tanya could not have made the process more pleasant if they tried. Tanya made me laugh, and put me at ease right away. Dr Wong… I can’t say enough good things. He really cares. He engaged me in great conversation while seamlessly, and efficiently explaining each part of the exam. He’s so sweet, gentle and thorough. After the exam, I had fun trying on different frames with the help and care of Tanya. She made it so delightful.

I absolutely love Dr. Wong and Tanya. I’ve been going there for a few years now, and they are wonderful. They are honest, and I love Tanya’s honest opinion of what frames would and would not look great on me given my need to combine work and play into one frame! When I had a friend visiting from out of town who bent her frames, I took her there and Tanya reshaped them for FREE!!! They also helped me with my frames when I had stripped the screw holes. When my very expensive sunglasses came in not to their standards, they sent them back, demanding a ‘re-​do’ and even added on extras at no cost to me, just because I had to wait a few extra days. They are really amazing and I highly recommend them. Their service really can’t be beat!

I am REALLY pleased with this place. I can get cheaper glasses at Costco (and I got what I paid for) but the service, attention to detail, integrity and quality is worth it, here. Everybody who wears glasses knows that they are expensive. This office has fair prices and extraordinary service. Tanya is someone I will return to again. She’s helpful, knowledgeable, great personality, honest, and a pleasure to deal with. Her great service is why I will be back!

I went to Dr. wong with a complaint of blurriness in my vision. dr. womg took a look and was immediately concerned and told me I need to see a retinologist pronto. I call the reninologist who ended up being booked out a couple weeks. I called dr. wong to let him know I made their next available appointment. He told me he would call me right back. 3 minutes later he called and said he had made me an appointment for the following morning. Apparently I would have lost my vision permanently if I had Wait.
Dr.wong legitimately cares for his patients and will go the extra mile for them. I will never see another eye doctor because I don’t think there’s one out there as good as dr.wong.

There are SO MANY reasons why Dr. Wong and Tanya have all 5 star reviews! They are both thorough, caring, and welcome you like family. They continue to go out of their way to take care of each person with the best possible care. I highly recommend them to everyone I know and will continue to. I agree with so much of what other people have written!!! Best place ever!

I had a great experience here recently as a new patient/​customer. Dr. Wong made me feel comfortable throughout my eye exam and was very thorough. Dr. Wong and Tanya are professional and personable, you really get the sense they enjoy what they do and care about each person who walks through their door. It’s refreshing to do business with people who value themselves and their clients and take care and pride in what they do.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wong’s for about 7 years. He provides a professional and thorough eye exam, handles all insurance types, and if you don’t have insurance, will work with you on price for exams, glasses and contact lenses. He explains each step of the exam, and has a friendly, helpful manner. I recently upgraded to bifocal contacts and he gave me 3 different brands on a trial basis, advising that there is a failure rate for bifocals depending on the individual. I tried them for a month and for me the Coopervision was best for me. It is great to buy local and deal with the actual owner of the business, and it’s in a convenient location with plenty of parking. I could save a few bucks by ordering lenses online or driving 10 or 20 miles to walmart, but I would rather buy directly from Dr. Wong.
His assistant Tanya is friendly, helpful and great about calling you back to answer questions. She helped me get a great deal through VSP earlier this year. She is committed to this business and is a pleasure to deal with. They are a great team and another reason to do business in Petaluma!

Dr. Wong & Tanya take EXTRA time for each patient and go the EXTRA MILES for you and making sure you are TOTALLY satisfied with everything. You feel like you’re the only patient!
