The food is always good. I order online through their website, walk over and my food is always warm waiting for me. Very convenient, and the people there are also very nice. I recommend!

I so want to give this place five stars. The food is always good, and I never get sick from it. I would say about 95% of their waiters are friendly and kind. However, there is at least two male waiters who are plain cold and bit rude. The service is very fast, so you will get your food fast, which is always a plus. The place itself is clean, spacious, and relaxing. I mostly get my food to go, but I have dined here more than several times. I prefer getting my food to go from there since most of the waiters I often get are rude.

I called and ordered delivery yesterday, with 6 items ordered, sweet and sour pork, hunan beef, sizzling rice soup, rice, chow mein, we were expecting the usual long wait time for delivery. When they told us 45 minutes we figured it’d be about an hour. We were absolutely shocked with someone was knocking on the door 25 minutes later. Not only were they early as heck, but the food was delicious AND we got free orange chicken! For a grand total of about $ 50, we had dinner and lunch for today, and as an added bonus, the both people we dealt were very nice to talk to. we have now found our go to Chinese delivery place in petaluma.

Average food and average service. I don’t think I will be craving this place any time soon.

This place has gone down hill after spending $ 60 on food that tasted like crap, didn’t seem fresh, I had to throw away the sweet and sour chicken and the noodles.

I love this restaurant. With white tablecloths, and snapping fresh vegetables, it is always a treat to eat there. The soups are filled with all kinds of goods!

Tonight we got the dinner combo #B. 17.30 a person. Fried Prawns(4) Sizzling Rice Soup, Vegetable Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Szchewan Beef. It normally comes with Beef and Broccoli, but they actually do substitutions without an extra charge! When the food started rolling out, I couldn’t believe the potions! First to impress me was the size of the fried prawns, huge!!! AND it was actually prawn you tasted, not tempura batter. The soup bowl they brought was enough to feed four people as we had two bowls a piece with enough left over to fill the quart size to go container. Now… on to the main courses… the fried rice was proportioned perfectly. Not too much rice, not too many veggies. The chicken and beef plates had an enormous amount of meat. Now we all know that for most, Chinese food fills you quickly, but sometimes leaves you hungry a couple hours later. Not to worry about that here! The left overs we took home were enough to make one more complete meal again! I can’t even begin to describe the flavors of each dish! That’s something you have to taste for yourself. If your looking for a big meal for an affordable price, Hunan Village is your place.

Good place to eat for Lunch, this is because you get a complimentary small salad, soup and a roll as an appetizer. The food quality and taste is good. I’ve been here quite a number of times and the food quality has been maintained at the same great level. I would recommend this place for anyone who has a huge appetite for Chinese food because the portions are quite big.

I once ordered takeout from Hunan Village. I would rate it at 4 stars because I appreciated the accurate time frame re: when to pick up the order. However, I ordered a spicy dish and emphasized that I wanted it very spicy when I ordered – yet the result tasted as if I’d never specified that. I ordered bean curd(tofu) with eggplant and mixed vegetables, and overall it did not disappoint. Point blank: the quality at Hunan Village does not exceed that of other establishments in the surrounding area. It tasted lackluster, for lack of better words.

Sadly a bad experience. So we’ve used this place for years as it’s been a consistent favorite. The past experience gets it 4 stars, the present only 2, but overall 3 as I hope this is a one off. So what has happened? Is there a new chef? The wonton soup broth was so watery it was awful. The hunan beef, instead of being crispy and savory, was sort of like a soggy sweet and sour beef, and the chicken was completely without taste. Decent fried rice and potstickers, but that doesn’t really do it. So totally disappointed. One more attempt doubtless but could this be the end?

I thought City Chopsticks, on the opposite end of the shopping center, was my favorite, but I was wrong! The lunches here are fabulous and inexpensive. I had the eggplant chicken and prawns and loved every bite! ‘Prawns and chicken were cooked perfectly. Everything was piping hot. The rice was perfectly cooked. The eggplant was soft and sweet, the way it should be. I had enough left for dinner too. The hot and sour soup was delicious. Also an egg roll with sweet and sour sauce and a cute little lettuce/carrot salad! Service was great. I was greeted by a friendly fellow at the door. My waitress was smiling and spoke beautiful English. The surroundings were clean and attractive. This is now my place!!!

Inexpensive, great value and portions, delicious food about sums up this restaurant. Every time I’ve eaten here they always throw in a free entrée on the side. As for the restaurant, they have a nice dinning room with plenty of tables for bigger groups. They offer a decent selection of beer, wine, and sake. Pretty much your typical Chinese restaurant that consistently delivers delicious food and good service.

First must say, the service is superior here. Now on to the rest. we ordered four different dinners for 5 people, Hunan beef, sweet & sour pork, Mu Shu chicken & Pork Chow Mein + a «small» bowl of Hot & Sour soup, these people have no Idea what Small is, the portions are huge! Everything was super fresh, flavorful & very quick, there was no lack of additional sauces or beverages in our table as it was constantly surveyed by our guy who always had a smiley face. We ended up eating too much and still taking more than half of it home, can’t help but want to go back if not because the delicious flavors, the unparalleled service. because we barely scratched the surface of their menu! Will return for sure.

One word comes to mind regarding this place: mediocre. The barbecue pork buns were downright bad. They crumbled and had no taste. The orange chicken was heavy on the vinegar. The egg foo young was okay but a little overcooked. The ambience there, if it could be called that, is insipid at best and the bare walls could really use some creative attention. I’ll give it another try in a year and see if there’s any improvement.

Before the advent of the«other» recent Asian restaurants in Petaluma, this was absolutely the best Chinese place north of the Golden Gate bridge. That being said, Hunan Village is still wonderful and I intend to return soon. Our favorite dish(not seen on the current menu) was the crispy garlic fried string beans. We always ordered that. Their menu is expansive, huge, and there is something for everybody. They suffer a little bit because right in this shopping center are two or three really good restaurants(one just next door) in competition with them. Prices are in line, and the wait staff can be a little poky but it can get crowded at dinner time. Hunan has been around for a long, long time in Petaluma, and given the fragility of the restaurant business that is high praise indeed.

I came here on a late Saturday night, after the Butter & Egg Days parade and then helping my friend move. At first, we got confused on what was the entrance door because right next door was another Asian restaurant(noodles or something). The restaurant is very affordable(prices aren’t too high). We ordered the hot and sour soup, orange sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, and some noodles. All of the dishes came out quickly and were piping hot. The waiter was attentive to our needs and friendly. The tea was Jasmine, my favorite. Would definitely come back again. Maybe to try the Kung Pao chicken.

This place is the best. We love it when we aren’t in the mood of cooking and need a quick and easy dinner. They have it all. They take a good simple phone order, and when we arrive its always ready and fresh. I highly recommend this place. Take out is preferred, but a seated dinner there is not so bad either
