Mi Pueblo- Petaluma

Mexican food for the masses. like leading sheep to water.
Don’t get me wrong. .it does make the belly full and your downing that last swig of Corona.
But for the amount of gringos in this casa .it’s overrated.
There is better in Ptown…
You will have to find it yourself.

Always a good meal at a reasonable price. Often looks like a long wait but almost always we have had a table in 15 minutes or less. Can get noisy but food and value are worth it. Full bar too which is rare for such cantinas. Can’t miss with this place. Love it!

Fast, friendly and authentic mexican food. Dos esicqucos on tap, great deals. You get your money’s worth here. I will go back again when I’m in the area.

Food was flavorless. Mentioned to our server and they did not offer any solution or apology. Would highly recommend going to Mi Ranchito in Rohnert Park intsead. Don’t waste your money or time here.

I went to dinner here last night with guests from out of town and was hugely disappointed! The waitress would not let me customize my order– I wanted a burrito with veggies in it, is that such a big deal? After ordering something different I was brought the wrong order and when I brought it to the attention of the waitress she said that is what I ordered– I didn’t because I can’t eat cheese and there was cheese all over it. I ended up getting into a very heated discussion with her. My food was not good but worse was how I was treated. The food is pretty standard Mexican fair anyway, nothing special at all, not sure why it’s so crowded. I’m from L.A. where there is awesome Mexican food. Won’t be returning.

Quick lunch on a busy day as expected due to the 5 de Mayo «holiday». What started out exciting turned into a poorly presented Camarones a la Diabla. If it wasn’t so busy I would’ve asked for the manager and requested my 16 dollars back for food that was inedible.

We stumbled upon Mi Pueblo at just the right time. We were hungry and there was one booth available for the three of us.
I didn’t check the Unilocal rating on Mi Pueblo until we were standing outside. It was definitely good enough to keep us from looking for something else. Plus it was packed, which I generally consider a good sign.
The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The wine was reasonably priced and the glasses were nice and full.
The menu is extensive. I’ve been eating healthy so I wanted to stay away from anything with loads of cheese and sauce. I opted for Camarones a la Plancha, grilled shrimp with bell peppers, tomato, onions and mushrooms. It came with lettuce and guacamole, rice and beans. It also came with tortillas, which I was not expecting and did not eat.
The shrimp, peppers, onions and mushrooms were very fresh and tasty. It was plenty of food even without eating the rice and beans… or the tortillas.
One of my friends had the super burrito. He said it was delicious and it was HUGE!
I’m not a huge fan of Mexican food, though I do like enchiladas (lots of cheese and sauce!). Since I was eating more healthy, I was pleased to see plenty of good options on the menu.
There are tons of restaurants in Petaluma. We live in Hayward, so this isn’t a place we’ll drive to just for dinner. And next time we come to town we will probably try something else. BUT, if you are in town and you love Mexican food… you should definitely stop at Mi Pueblo!

Adequate food but lousy customer service. They keep messing up our takeout order. We get takeout since we have a young baby, and three out of the last four burritos we have gotten here have NOT been what we ordered, or what was written on the outside! When we called to complain, we were told that we could not get a refund unless we brought the burritos back in – thus inconveniencing US by delaying both our dinner and our infant’s bedtime – but not offering us any compensation for THEIR error, eg offering us a coupon for next time or at least an apology. The woman who talked to me was indifferent, unapologetic, and basically insulting. I am still kind of shocked by her attitude. I guess they have a lot of people coming there, they don’t need to be nice.

Simple things make simple man happy.
Enchiladas, green sauce. Chicken is good, rice is good, salsas, everything is good.
$ 14 including tip.
Simple simple. Good good.

I come here a lot. Why? The service… I feel at home here. Everyone is so friendly and never a wait for your food. The food… always good and huge proportions. Always crowded, always festive, always comforting. And I will always come back.

The wait was very fast. I got a table in the first 5 minutes of waiting on a friday. The seats are very nice. The waiter was very nice and got me my drink in about 2 minutes. We didn’t have any napkins on the table, but when I asked for some they were very kind and got them right away. I ordered the bean, cheese, and rice burrito. My order was spot on and came very fast. The food was very good and was very good for the price. The beans very very good and the for was very good.
The only problem I have with this is that the plates are to hot.

I’ve been to this Mi Pueblo numerous times over the years. It’s my favorite Mexican food in Petaluma if we’re going out to eat. They usually keep the chip refills coming and I love their margaritas! Super tasty and not skimpy on the tequila. I love their super burritos with bbq chicken. The wait can be long on a weekend night but the longest I’ve had to wait was 20 minutes. I’ll continue to visit this establishment for years to come.

Very fast. Probably faster food than I’ve got from a regular fast food joint. Tasty food. I had the enchiladas with rice and beans. Beans being re-​fried. Good meal for a good price. Great portion. The service was very friendly. I will definitely come back and try some more.

Good service and ample seating for our party of 8. A nice variety of food to choose from including vegetarian and gluten free options.

This our go to Mexican food In Petaluma and God knows there are many to choose from. Their food and service is always consistenlty good!

I love this place and they have a salsa bar! Plus delicious meats! Good prices quick service.

Just the most consistent Mexican restaurant in town and always great service.

Excellent service and food! My tamale was excellent, big chunks of chicken! Chips and salsa were great. I had 2 margaritas, heck I’m On vacation!

I’m seriously here all the time. I had walked by this place for years. I never looked inside. I thought it was super tiny and I’m not into tiny places. Anyway, someone recommended it so we checked it out. First off — it’s normal size, with a full bar and two TVs. They have these awesome lettuce wrap tacos that I get every single time.
The service is very fast and they are very very busy. I have been her many many times for lunch during the work week — many many times on the weekend for lunch with my family and a few times in the evening. I believe they have 4 locations. I had been to the one in Novato — it was cool and the one on Petaluma Blvd — also cool (and very generous with the tequila in the margaritas). But this one is our favorite and the one we keep coming back too.

This is the place for Modern Tex Mex in Petaluma. Try the fish tacos on lettuce (Taco Wrap) wedges instead of corn tortillas for a lower carb choice. Also try the chicken version.
Portions for standard items are large so don’t over order. Very pleasant atmosphere and good service.
