One of my favorite salons! Just wish it were closer! Great staff great results everytime.

I’ve search my whole hair cutting days for someone who was there for me and not putting there emotions into my style. Someone who made you feel important and that your hair was your own hair and gave you an experience where you felt listened to and cared for.
Caity, listened to me and what I was looking for. She made the experience about me and gave me back the confidence in hair I had lost from recent grow out. From the moment I met her to the end of my experience sitting in her chair. She always made me feel warm, welcomed, and the experience was so positive I feel like it was truly worth every penny and then some.
Caity has a huge heart and passion for what she does and educated me as well so I could go home and duplicate exactly what she did during the blow dry.
I will definitely spend the time and money sitting in Caity’s chair again in the future. Her positive attitude and her passion to help me feel beautiful after many other horrible hair stylist experiences was the cherry on top. I have a huge grateful heart to finally have an upbeat positive hair experience. Thank you Caity!

Most unsatisfied customers will never actually complain (not even on Unilocal), they will just never return and you’ll never know why. It’s those who complain that will help a business grow by pointing out the areas which could be improved, so long as there is openness to critical feedback and willingness to make changes.
With that said, I think I should clarify that (per the owner) they do staff trainings after all. Also, I was surprised to have had my last service refunded to me– which I did not expect at all bc I felt that the stylist still deserved to be paid. Nevertheless, I appreciated the intent behind it. I added a star to my initial rating for that gesture.
I even received a personal message from one of the owners that I’d like to share to show how thoroughly they handle complaints: (Note: some details below about my visits are incorrect)
«I am an owner at Salon Method in Petaluma and just read your review. Sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction. As you can see we are a highly rated salon and very rarely do we ever have people complaining so it’s definitely a let down to hear this. Definitely not a fluke we have such high ratings.
We do provide regular trainings for our staff. We even have a color class on the 2^nd that we are super excited about! Our staff also regularly attends outside education as well. It’s mandatory for our stylists to do so.
I did a bit of research on your appointments and it looks like each time you came in you consulted and even had pictures of balayaged hair. As Ashley mentioned during your appointment with her that the hair you showed her was a look that is intended to be styled in a wave/​curl if you want it to look like those pictures or want to see heavier contrast. Straight hair just doesn’t yield the same effect with balayage. Internet can be misleading with all these trending looks and techniques. Sometimes those looks/​techniques are not right for everyone, but, we too like to give our clients what they ask for.
Nancy, the other owner, did your hair once. She is a highly skilled and sought after colorist. Nor her or Sara received any negative feedback at/​after their appointments from you. Wish you had let them know so they could have had the opportunity to give you what you desired.
There is also the possibility that you are just not a fit for our salon and we are not a fit for you. Totally happens. Either way I hope you find that stylist who can get you where you are going. Just thought you would like to know about our continued education and that I did look into it for you so to see what went on.
Maybe you can try Rachel at Urban Elements, they are just right around the corner from us.

I cannot urge you enough to go see Caity Burgess at Salon Method. She is so talented; I cannot even believe how great she made my hair look.
I saw Caity on Saturday and parking was easy and plentiful out front and the salon was mellow, calm and gorgeous. Caity warmly welcomed me and took plenty of time to chat with me about what I envisioned, what constituted bad haircut/​color experience to me in the past and offered suggestions based on my hair color, length and what I was trying to articulate that I wanted. I knew I was in good hands so I gave her the green light to do exactly what she suggested.
I was surprised at how little of my length she felt needed to be cut off. Might she have preferred to cut more had I not said I was attached to the length? It’s possible, but what she cut off was perfect. My hair feels and looks incredible. She did an initial rough cut to get rid of the dead ends, balayage color, washed and dried and then dry cut my hair. She asked if each thing she did sounded good to me before she did it, I felt like she really cared that I was informed and on board.
The end result was me leaving with model-​like hair. I met my mom at a grocery store and she didn’t recognize me in her peripheral vision. My brothers said it’s the best they have ever seen my hair and I totally agree.
Another stylist was doing this incredible costume hair and makeup on a client for a circus-​themed event (helium balloons attached to pigtails, dramatic makeup, very avante gard) and I asked Caity if she does that type of work as well and said that yes, she specializes in makeup too and loves to do any type of event, but thinks there’s something special about helping girls get ready for high school dances like Prom and Homecoming. I think Caity truly has an amazing talent and an amazing vision and I will definitely book her the next time I need hair and makeup for an event. It goes without saying that she is my new permanent hair stylist, for sure.
Before leaving, I booked my next appointment.

Jessie is the best! I will only go to her… finally found someone that can make my not so great hair look great every time. I just wish I could put her in my pocket and bring her home with me! Jessie is easy to talk to and, I love the salon, easy parking and the products she uses on my hair are amazing.
Now my daughter will only go to Jessie too! Even though Jessie is busy because she is awesome, I’m usually able to get an appointment within a day or two.

I’ve been here a couple times to have Nancy cut my hair and my mother-​in-​law has had Nancy color her hair. We both loved the work that she did.
The minus 1 star is because I made an appointment online, Nancy declined the appointment on her end, but it confirmed it on my end. When I arrived I ended up waiting about 30 min before someone told me it was a mistake and she wasn’t there.

I will only go to Jessie to get my hair done .i will never let anyone do my hair but her she’s the best. I’m always happy with my hair every time. So if u need a salon to go too this is the place to go

I’ve been seen by Jesse Conrad twice now and I will never go to anyone else. She’s fantastic, creative, awesome, and really understands hair! I love love love her!

Jessie Mae, the owner of Salon Method, is an incredibly talented stylist. Having very fine, wavy hair, I had given up that I could actually select a style I liked rather than my hair dictating how it would look, that is until Jessie started styling and cutting my hair. My first appointment with her was for a consult. I brought pictures of styles I liked (but in reality, never thought I could accomplish with my challenging hair). Wow, was I surprised when Jessie told me we could work towards the style that appealed to me most! I cannot recommend her highly enough. She now cuts my husband’s very fine and thinning hair and the result in a more contemporary and youthful look!

Like everyone else, I think this salon is AWESOME!
Caity does my color and I cannot sing her praises enough. I’ve moved around a lot in the last 5 years and finding a new salon and stylist who is skilled at blonde color is not easy. I actually found Caity when I came in for a color correction after an awful experience at another local salon. She not only fixed my hair and made it look beautiful but also didn’t charge an arm and a leg for the «color correction». When it comes to getting the right color blonde, I am so picky and I always walk out the door very happy with my color.
If you are new to town and looking for a salon (especially blondes!) I highly recommend Salon Method and be sure to request Caity!

Ashley B is amazing, I have never left disappointed. She takes her time to make sure she does a thorough job!

Several more cuts from Caity and she’s still awesome! I have long, very fine and thin hair which not many stylists have done well over my lifetime. Caity really knows how to cut it well, and my styles stay in tact and grow out over several months. Never feels like an awkward stage happens.

This is the first time I’ve been to Salon Method and my experience couldn’t have been any better. My regular hair stylist and I have been seeing each other for 5 years and told me that my hair style would cost me 250!!! It was ridiculous, so I researched a bit. I made an appointment with Jessie Mae for a balayage. My hair is very dark and her technique definitely made my hair look amazing and surprisingly natural. It looks like I spent a few months in the beach and I love it! Reasonably priced as well! Thank you Jessie, I will definitely see you guys again and I highly recommend this place!

Such a perfect spot! Clean, modern, full service,(brow bar) and smiles upon arrival! I am always greeted right away and never lost among the hairdresser chit chat! It’s quiet and calm (with background beats) :)!
The owner Nancy has always been good to me! She’s friendly, funny, and listens to me!

It was time to quit going to the barber and getting my nine dollar haircuts LOL. So I started talking and asking people who they would recommend, I looked on Unilocal and found salon method. I went to my appointment and Jessie Mae color and cut my hair, She did an amazing job and I’ve gotten nothing but compliments. Not that it looked bad before, but the color she did almost like a reddish purple and changing the cut a little bit made a big difference. I also sent my granddaughter over there and she had did a keratin treatment on her hair, she was also very pleased with her hair. The shop is really nice modern, Jessie Mae is very sweet, and it’s a a real nice atmosphere.

Both Jessie Mae and Ashley A. are the bees knees. My lady and I won’t go to anyone else. Highly professional, talented, and great to be around.
Honestly, look no further.

I was so so happy with my wedding hair and make up trial! Caity did my hair and Ashley B did my make up. My wedding is in Petaluma but I am not from the area so I had to find a salon based on Unilocal and word of mouth. I had a previous trial at a different salon and unfortunately did not like it and lost my money :(I was so relieved that Salon Method did such a great job and the stylist were very friendly!
I do not usually wear face make up so I was super nervous for my make up. No one has been able to do my make up and make it look natural but Ashley really accomplished that!!! I can not wait to go to them on my wedding day and have them make me BEAUTIFUL!

I’ve been seeing Ashley Buescher for awhile now and I cannot stop singing her praises. I went from mid-​length straight hair to a modified mohawk with her! Ashley is so nice, super talented and really, the only person I want to cut my hair. She listens to you and really helps you figure out what kind of style you’re going for. I feel really comfortable at the Salon and I cannot recommend going there enough!

After my hair stylist moved away, I was on the hunt for her replacement. I tried a couple of other Sonoma County salons only to be disappointed and unhappy. I looked on Unilocal and found great reviews for Salon Method.
I got an appointment w/​Jessie. She listened to the issues I was having with my hair. I didn’t like the brassiness.
Jesse was able to get my blonde color right & also understood how to work on my naturally curly hair. Jessie is very sweet, personable & accommodating.
The salon is large, clean & relaxing. Make sure to grab a cup of the apple cider while you are getting your beauty on!
I can’t wait to go back!
