In town, we call this«homeless starbucks» as it’s where all the homeless sit, hang out and use the bathroom. If you like your highly acidic and over-roasted coffee with a side of homeless stank, then by all means, this is the place for you.(but at least there are plenty of homeless pitbulls tied up outside! Yay!!)

Downtown Petaluma is a charming place. This particular Starbucks goes for Petaluma’s Victorian look, since it’s by Putnam Park and the Water Street promenade. It’s a short walk from a couple of theaters, including the Phoenix. Pros– Friendly, quick service. Helpful when you have a gift card&want to know the balance. Good selection of pastries, even at 9 in the morning. Good seating. Cons– One of the restrooms was getting major repairs. The nearby Putnam Park is kind of a homeless hangout. Other than that, a nice place.

If you do not know how to make a cappuccino you probably should not be working at a coffee shop. Terrible TERRIBLE! These guys should take a class to learn how to make coffee drinks.

Well i’ll write a review here, but apparently there are two of these locations and I have checked into the one a few times that is not the one I usually check into. It’s downtown, great location, friendly staff, great coffee! Go go go…

Perfect location! Staff was very friendly, they made eye contact, and my drink came out fast! You feel like a customer as opposed to a number. The level of service really stands out from other Starbuck’s locations.

Not a very clean place. Restroom has very dirty looks like a gas station restroom. Floors were dirty in the front lobby. Would have been a nice coffee relax spot if it was kept up. First time in Petaluma and not impressed with my first spot to visit hope things get better

I have recently been hitting this old spot and let me tell you it has now been much improved. Staff knows my name and drink after just going in 4 times in the last 2 weeks. They drink always comes out perfect. They always get through the lines quick and they have changed their staff around and they are absolutely FABULOUS!!! I really like going here now and find myself getting more and more starbucks. Way to go downtown team you have won me back!!!

A quick place to grab a bit to eat, a drink, read the paper, and had free WiFi. Awesome. Service is quick and friendly. Also if you want the veggie sandwich options you may have to come early. Although they always seem to have the spinach and feta wrap. Even if the line seems kind of long it moves quickly! The aesthetics could be a little more inviting as it’s mostly grey and white. And the floor needs updating but hey, it’s a coffee shop. I’d say this is a good place to stop on a walk downtown or if you need to meet someone. Sweeeeeeet!

To start out I am a Peets customer but going into Starbucks I didn’t have any negative preconceived notions. In fact while travelling outside California I often go to Starbucks for a coffee. But last night I got to my Peets after it closed to buy some coffee for my home machine and so walked over to the Starbucks on Kentucky. The first thing that I realized is that they don’t have any fresh beans, like Peets. The guy at the counter said their anniversary coffee would be similar to my favorite Major Dickinson and then proceeded to grab a bag off the shelf. I asked«how fresh are those beans?» and he proceeded to show me the«airlock» on the bag saying that these were very fresh. Well, sadly to say, they were ground and delivered with no appreciable aroma, not that nice warm bag that you get a Peets and when I brewed it up it was miserable. So I won’t run down the coffee the baristas make at Starbucks as I don’t really have anything to complain about while travelling but if you want nice fresh coffee while in the store or taking it home, Peets just blows Starbucks away.

might as well let me piss in a cup with a mermaid logo and call it a low fat frap frap cu-cu and charge you 4 fifty for it. buttholes drink starbucks and the starbucks coffee has mind controlling butthole genes in it that keep these buttholes coming back. this place angered me upon entry, the coffee jerk behind the counter gave me a look that made me sooooooooooooo mad and then their secret code language at the counter made me suspicious of their intentions. evil, evil, demon place. 666

Not great for a Starbucks… This place is a good location if you are downtown, but other than that its not that great. Very small for a Starbucks with not much room to sit at all. There are always long lines and not enough room for them. The past 2 times I have been there it has not gone well. The first time they competley messed up my drink, then the second time the same barista made my drink but when I ordered a frappuccino mocha cookie crumble, I guess they didn’t have the right ingredients so instead of telling me she decided to make a java chip and thought I wouldn’t notice… The staff here is just plain awful. Always someone brand new and everyone is most likely under 25. This is fine if you just need your coffee but if you are looking for a good Starbucks coffee, I suggest going to a different Petaluma location.

Coffee is hot service is fast. Real coffee drinks don’t go here. Coffee has a watered down tast. The whole milk I asked for is not whole milk at all. Not my cup of coffee… Next!!!

Typical Starbucks — I go because I know what I want(or can look at the menu on-line before I leave) and because the quality is usually pretty standard and the service is usually quick.(Notice all the qualifiers there.) Also typical Starbucks — don’t go during the morning rush or you’ll be annoyed by having to wait. We went Saturday morning around 9:30, and ended up having to wait ten minutes between walking through the door to getting our drinks. I don’t mind waiting ten minutes at one of the local mom and pop coffee shops, but I expect quicker service from the well-oiled corporate machine that is Starbucks. With three behind the counter on a Saturday morning, I suspect they were understaffed. Get one more person back there and hopefully the kinks will be worked out. To be fair, I have been during the afternoon doldrums and found the service to be more prompt.

Note to potential customers in Petaluma searching for this place based on the Unilocal map: It is not located next to(or near) the theater. After spending 15 minutes walking back and forth on the same block looking for my fix of coffee on Christmas morning, I gave up. I carried my heavy, dragging legs into 7 – 11 and hit up their self-serve espresso machine(which was surprisingly okay). The map places this store ½ block away from the theater. Luckily for us, we had an hour to kill before the movie so we followed Petaluma Blvd around the bend and found… the actual location for this Starbucks. At 125(A!!!) Petaluma Blvd North. Apparently this is a big difference. Huge props to Starbucks for being the only place open in Petaluma on Christmas. Although the service was kinda slow, the taste of turkey bacon and cheese on a whole wheat muffin was the Christmas miracle I needed.

It’s a very nice location in downtown Petaluma. One great thing about Starbucks is the quality of the drinks and food is pretty consistent from one store to another so you know what to expect. In that respect it is no different from any other Starbucks. The staff is very nice but a little slow at times. When I want to get my coffee and leave especially if I am grabbing some on my way to work this location is not very reliable for a quick departure. I often catch them talking with each other about plans and misc. stuff and ignoring me while they finish their conversation. The fewer people in the store the longer it seems to take. Still if you are not in a hurry they are pleasant and so is the mood of the store.
