COULD NOT FIND THE HELPFUL HARDWARE MAN HERE!!! HE MUST OF DIED WHEN THEY HAD THE FIRE, YEARS AGO.
Dropped in to get some items I saw advertised in the Ace Hardware ad and online.
Brought the online ad to the «big» guy at the counter, he glanced at the printout and said «we don’t have that Ace item.» I asked him if he had anything similar on sale, he pursed his lips, made a face and said, «No.» and told me I could check, pointing «over there.»
The store was not busy, no one was checking out.
Consistent rude, inattentive, uncaring customer service, along with overpriced items make this NOT THE HELPFUL PLACE, BUT THE PLACE TO GO AND GET REAMED!!!

Super friendly folks and hardware! I like that they also have a section devoted to kitchen items (and other housewares) as I can find gifts here as well as hedge trimmers. I also like that they stock bird seed. :) A great local shop with a a lot of heart.

Right in the middle of a terrific shopping district. Small-​ish family-​run business catering to both homemakers and home do-​it-​yourselfers. Not really for any big projects, but the basics for running a household.
Best for gift shopping and browsing with more than one set of interests. A little more kitchen type? Go to the right. More garage type? You’ll feel at home on the left.
Helpful variety of family members in the middle at the cash registers. Very friendly and comfortable in their space. They really do care about their customers.
The product selection reflects the upscale eclectic shopping district. So do the prices.
Don’t miss this place if you’re walking the McNear District.

After driving to almost all the auto parts stores for a odd size socket I thought what the heck I’ll try Tomasini’s and to my happy surprise after being every where I had stopped being told it was a special order they have 6 in stock ! I always scratch my head after going here thinking why didn’t I go here first? They always seem to have what I am looking for !

Bought a ladder cheaper here than the identical one at Home Depot! …and I didn’t have to drive to Rohnert Park.
Also, just noticed that they have gas cans for cheaper than Amazon, and for the same exact price as Home Depot, only the safety spouts on these actually work, where as the ones at Home Depot are so poorly designed that I and three employees couldn’t figure out how to get them to work.

For such a small store, you wouldn’t think that they would have everything you need — but they DO. Any small home project (lumber aside) and I swear to you, Home Depot may have 7 out of 10 things that you are looking for — but Rex’s will have 10 out of 10. No joke.
Not only that — but the folks who work there, who have worked there for years, are BEYOND helpful. Need some advice on how to tackle a home project — these folks are my go tos. No matter what your flavor, this place is on my Petaluma Tour for my out of town visitors. Fun and Functional.

Remember that hardware store that your father or in some cases, grandfather had taken you to? This is that hardware store. Friendly staff, helpful and knowledgeable. Good jokes and an assortment for most household needs. This place is awesome.

What a great store. Have been in here a few times and always find something to walk away with.
I want to go here, because not too far away, the condos and the big shopping centers and the big businesses are competing for attention.
One side is the «guy» stuff: tools, gadgets, etc. The other side is the «estrogen-​laced» goodie department: cooking stuff, gifties, kitchen linens, kitchen based goods, canning products, and the like.
LOTS OF BREAKABLES on the girls’ side. I was freaking out a little with my daughter there.
They have signs: YOU BREAK IT, YOU BUY IT”. And I have a feeling they mean it. So again, watch the kiddos or just don’t bring them in.
But seriously, this place is great. I love stopping in!

Great store. Wonderful help with any project you might be doing around the house. It is a small store but they carry alot of items. They help you out with any project you need help with. The people are super friendly.
the store is clean and well thought out… much better then before. They have a ton of knick nacks to look at You could easily get every kitchen item one needed.
The only drawback is it is a little pricey on some items. but I find that you pay for the help and the local experience.

Rex Hardware is a Petaluma installment! They carried my houses’ outdated spark plugs no problem, last minute kitchen supplies, no problem — and the customer service there is great.
It is a smaller store, so I usually call in advance if there’s something I specifically need. The nice thing about that? They know what they have, so you won’t be on hold for 20 minutes getting bounced around to different departments!

I love Rex Hardware! The staff is always friendly and helpful, a refreshing change from going to OSH or Lowe’s. They are genuinely interested in making sure you leave satisfied. That, and their huge inventory (especially kitchenware) will keep me coming back for a long time. It’s like hardware stores used to be fifty years ago.

Outstanding, knowledgeable staff — greet you when you enter, offer help, etc. In my case they didn’t have the particular type of light switch I wanted, but offered to order it — and called me 3 days later when it arrived. This was only an $ 11. item, so their great service was not due to huge profits for the store. When I went to pick up the switch, they found it immediately in the back from and gave me further advice on an electrical problem.

Jeff Tomasini and his staff are the best! I have lived in Petaluma for 30 years and whenever I have needed a «thing-​ama-​jig» or a «dooley-​wop» for plumbing, electrical, tools, painting or repairing the senior members of this staff can take me right to the item or if they do not have it can tell me what I need. THis is a «May I help you and take you to the item» hardware store. Right in downtown Petaluma it is perfectly situated to help us locals. They also have an extensive «housewares» department where they have every conceivable item you might need in a kitchen. It is easy to get frustrated when trying to repair anything and find just the right parts but this Petaluma store will make it easier to get through.
