History

Established in 1980.

Started on the auspicious day, 8÷8÷1980, Joseph’s Coat is in its third location in the village of Peterborough in the splendid Monadnock Region of southern New Hampshire. Its beginning as a fabric store is still apparent in its rich collection of textiles. The crafts sold at Joseph’s Coat are made by artisans practicing traditional method with creativity which assures the vitality of their culture in today’s world. By making objects from local natural or recycled materials the artisans value their environment and their community.

Business Owner

Born in Montréal, immigrated to the US in 1977 the year I married Clyde. Bought Joseph’s Coat in 2006 and it is my first experience at owning a store. I love exploring the world through its crafts. The community around the store is very special and encouraging.
