Barkin’ Up Hickory specializes in wearing your dog out so he doesn’t wear you out. Daycare dogs are never put in kennels, and can instead nap on our chairs and couch. Our homemade kennels are very comfortable and much more spacious than traditional kennels. We pride ourselves on not only giving you peace-​of-​mind but also making sure your best friend has a great time and looks forward to coming back!

Established in 2012.

Our doors opened for business on April 2^nd, 2012. Barkin’ Up Hickory is not a chain or franchise, but is a small, locally-​owned and operated business.

I’ve wanted to own a business since I was about 8 years old and I’ve always loved dogs, so this just made since. After graduating from UW-​Whitewater in December of 2008, I moved to Los Angeles for 2 ½ years. I learned a lot there, but came to realize that Wisconsin was where I wanted to be to start a business and one day raise a family. Getting Barkin’ Up Hickory up-​and-​running was quite the experience, but thankfully I had a lot of support and help from my family and friends.
