My Peyton Louise is now 3 years and she is the best thing that ever happened to me.
she and I live alone she is wonderful company to me.
Kathy has always been there if I have any questions… but I have really not needed her because Peyton has never had any issues, Kathy as actually called and or e-​mailed us to check in.
I went to pick her up @ the ranch and found it to be quite lovely quiet and clean with many animals that were ALL well taken care of.
Peyton and I are registered Therapy Dog team she is wonderful with elderly people as well as children and other dogs.
Peyton is a mini Toodle, I would recommend ACC Ranch to anyone and would do it again if I were to get another dog and it would be an other Toodle.

We purchased our Standard Poodle Lily from Kathy just over 1 year ago. Before purchasing, I read the reviews on here. I know only about 50% of customers will actually post a review… especially if they are happy. Unhappy customers are more likely. I waited to post a review because I wanted to see how Lily was health wise, and personality. Now, I can write my review.
We decided to do research on the breed best breed for our family and a Standard Poodle was a perfect fit. We saw a neighbor with a Standard Poodle and they told us they got him 2 years ago at ACC Ranch. We e-​mailed and setup an appointment for a visit. We live in Northern Colorado Springs, so the drive was far to ACC Ranch but we expected that. We had been to other breeding kennels in search of our family friend, but ACC Ranch was by far the best. It was not loud, and did not smell. When talking too Kathy, she was also super sweet and answered all of our questions.
During the first visit we were able to spend time with all the female puppies. We wanted a female. We were pretty sure which puppy was best for our family. We went home without putting a deposit to sleep on it to be sure. There was no pressure from Kathy, she wanted us to be sure. The next day we felt sure that Lily was right for us… we had spent the night thinking of the perfect name. We contacted Kathy and made another appointment. We put down the deposit and had to wait a few weeks till Lilly was old enough to come home. We went to visit her a several times, sometimes unannounced. kathy was always more then happy to get her for us so we could spend time. Lily was always happy, playful, clean, and well feed.
Finally, we could take her home. Kathy went over care and all the details. We had Lilies checkup scheduled for the next day. the checkup was perfect, shots, teeth, fur, eyes, everything was great. She has had regular checkups since and has had no health issues. The only thing we did change was the brand of food. We feed her Blue Buffalo Freedom Puppy Large Breed Chicken Recipe.
We have 7 children, ranging in age from 2 – 21. Lily is great with all the kids and she loves playing with toys. She will take the toys out of her toy box and play with them for hours. We are working on getting her to put them all back… LOL. She was easy to potty train, we followed Kathy’s instructions and it was quick and easy. She does not destroy any items in the home like shoes, furniture, toys, ect. She is also very protective of our family, but not unfriendly with friends and family.
Overall, our experience has been great. We are now thinking of getting Lily a friend. When we are ready we will return to ACC Ranch. We plan to get another Standard Poodle.

THIS IS A PUPPY MILL! I work in an animal hospital where a client brought in their puppy that they got from this place. The puppy was one of 11 in the litter where 8 of its litter mates died of PARVO!!!

We bought a sheepadoodle from Cathy two years ago, and although she is beautiful… there is something seriously wrong with her. She is SOOOO high anxiety and has been since she arrived as a puppy. She is terrified of being left alone, and just isn’t a normal pup. Also, since we bought her, I get email after email about new sheepadoodle litters arriving… and that’s just one of the many dog breeds Cathy is breeding.
Bottom line, I thought this was a ranch… but we’ve began to think it’s a puppy mill.
From our dog’s personality, she was either not socialized at all as a puppy, or overbred, or both. Again, beautiful dog… but I regret getting her from ACC Ranch.

Do not trust ACC Ranch! Cathy lied to us so that we would place a deposit for a puppy from a litter that did not exist! My family was looking for a sheepadoodle that we could bring home in June. We planned vacations and time off of work to help a new puppy acclimate to our household. We promised our children that a puppy was on its way. Cathy told us that she had not only one, but two litters that would be born in the middle of April, perfect for our June take home date. She assured us that we would most certainly get our puppy then. The third week of March, only weeks prior to the anticipated birth date of these litters, we again verified that in June we would have our puppy; Cathy said that we would. We then proceeded to mail Cathy our deposit check. We waited and waited to see pictures of the new puppies but they never came. When we inquired about how two supposedly already conceived litters had not arrived, Cathy told us that she could not even verify the pregnancy of the dogs and at that time, no puppies were coming. We pleaded for her to then return our deposit and she refused. After explaining that the date was an important factor to us and that we felt lied to, she discontinued responding to our emails. We did get a puppy in June, from another breeder who thought it outlandish to take non-​refundable deposits for litters that did not exist. Cathy’s business practices are dishonest and there are plenty of other breeders that wont lie to you in order to take your money.

I got a sheepadoodle from Kathy almost two years ago and he is awesome! Although his training because of his strong will was a big struggle he has turned out great. I can’t emphasis his temperament enough, I frequently work with kids who have autism at home and they have at times been physically rough with him and he sits and takes it! Kathy was friendly and made his trip from Colorado to Illinois easy (still a little nerve racking). Great experience!

I am NOT one of Kathy’s competitors. Backyard breeding isn’t my thing and we only have one dog (the one that came from her kennel.) We did have our dog spayed, so there’s no need to get full breeding rights anymore. Not being sure of our dogs past history, health of her parents, etc., we’ve chosen the obvious thing to do.
To Kathy: Why would I buy a dog and expect breeding rights? Lots of breeders give FULL breeding rights. I suggest you go to some professional breeding websites and read their contracts, if you think otherwise.
If this breeder is on the up and up, ask her to visit her kennels. The reviews are not good! I don’t go around slandering other people but I’m so glad there are places we can leave reviews (positive or negative) so, people have the chance to look businesses up and find out what other consumers are saying. Maybe these places that aren’t really on the up and up or don’t do a good job, will straighten up?! I, also, want the public to know that they need to be very picky when it comes to the breeder, of your next family member. Ask questions, LOTS of questions.
p. s. I know our dog came from Kathy, because her registration papers say so. We, also, got FULL registration papers on her.

We got our sheepadoodle (half party poodle, half sheepdog), Dexter, from ACC Ranch. Dexter is now a year and a half old and we love him so much. We couldn’t imagine our life without him. He’s brought so much joy to our family. He’s great with kids, other dogs, cats, other animals. He’s a lover of all.
Although Kathy might be busy, I found her easy and enjoyable to work with. She runs a ranch, so she’s very capable of managing lots of animals at once. That’s her thing and you can really tell her and her husband love the ranch and the animals in their care.
When we came to look at Dexter before purchasing him, Kathy was realistic with us about the stress taking on a new dog can be. She was honest about the training a working dog would need in order for him to be a good dog. We left the visit thinking long and hard about taking a dog into our family.
The day we arrived to pick him up Kathy greeted us with a take home bag of puppy goodies: a puppy care book, blanket from his kennel with his mom, snuggle buddy for the long nights alone without his siblings now, a collar and a bag of food.
It really makes me sad to read the negative messages from disgruntled owners or competitors. Kathy really does care for these animals and at the end of the day, she is running a business to provide for her family. Not all people are capable of handling and training a dog. All breeds are different and you must learn about and understand the breed before you can be a good owner. Dogs require attention and discipline just like humans. But so much of a dog is ingrained in their breed.
If I could say anything to anyone thinking about owning a dog it would be to understand and read about the breed first. Then ask Kathy questions and take her suggestions. She knows what she’s doing and had been doing it a long time. And if you decide the dog won’t work out for you, she will always take the dog back. Don’t hate on her and her business.

My wife and I bought a Sheepadoodle from Kathy at ACC Ranch just over 3 years ago. He is a wonderful pet in every possible way and a treasured member of our family. Fletcher loves everyone he meets and he makes quite an impression on people based on his looks, behavior and personality. My experience with Kathy before during and after the sale has been excellent, and based on many conversations, I think she truly cares for her dogs and her customers. I have never visited the ranch (lived in AZ and CA) but got to meet Kathy when she delivered him to me at the airport. While there are no guarantees in life when it comes to live animals, I suspect the number of satisfied customers heavily outweighs the disappointed. I feel for those pet owners who have experienced health problems, but SOME of this, given the numbers of dogs bred, is unavoidable. As I relearn every day, pet ownership comes with many risks, heavy expenses, and rich rewards. Thank you Kathy for the love and happiness Fletcher has brought to our lives. Mark S.

We had a fabulous experience with Kathy at ACC Ranch. We just purchased a Mini Whoodle who is the best dog ever. She’s beautiful and charming and very healthy, according to our Vet. We got such good treatment and advice from Kathy and our pup seems to have had the best start possible. They do have a lot of puppies, but our little one, and her litter mates showed signs of the love Kathy has for them. They went right to her for a little love. Our puppy was very relaxed and showed signs of being handled frequently.

***Kathy at ACC is trying to discredit my post by claiming I am just a competitor. I welcome anyone reading this post to email me and I’ll be happy to chat with you. Then you will know the truth.
I have been to ACC ranch and there are so many breeding dogs and puppies here that it literally sounds like a «roar» of dogs barking when someone goes into the buildings (more like little concrete sheds). Yeah, the sheds may be heated but they are so small these dogs are piled on top of one another.
Q: Why don’t you post pics of the dogs on the inside of these sheds on your website?
Q: Kathy, you profess your love for dogs so why don’t you explain to all of us how you can keep pumping puppies out your door when there are millions of homeless dogs at the shelter each year across the country that will be euthanized every day because there isn’t any room for more?
You continue to contribute in a huge way to the sad plight of unwanted dogs, euthanized dogs due to their gross overpopulation. You are raking in tens of thousands of dollars at the expense of these poor animals.
Greed breeding. Shame on you.
UPDATE*****I bought a dog from you a long time ago Kathy. Why don’t you just come clean and post a «video» of the inside of those sheds you have. Why? Been checking your site and you still haven’t shown us customers what is really going on in those sheds. The reason… showing us would be really bad for your business because we would see you have way too many and they are piled high sitting in small cages. You are a puppy farm and you know it.
So go ahead, we are all waiting for a wall to wall video of the inside of this «paradise» you describe. Maybe that will motivate you to clear 90% of them out for the video and they will have a chance at getting a cleaned little cage to return to.
And yes, your denial is sickening. You are absolutely exacerbating the overpopulation of dogs who are euthanized daily. What do you think overpopulation means? Stop twisting the truth. Your in this for money, money, money and dogs are dieing because of you and thousands of other breeders just like you.

Very great experience. Kathy lives the live of a breeder who cares. It was a decent drive for us, but we went down there twice, once to meet the pups, and one to bring him home. The pups always looked happy and well taken care of. For us the thing we appreciated the most was Kathy’s advice on how to best take care of and train our new puppy. (we have done everything she recommended, and having great luck so far.
Oh and I forgot she does the first couple rounds of required shots– nice surprise -.
If you are looking for a non-​shedding dog, this is the place to go!

Mistake #1:
Adopting two dogs from ACC and not escrowing $ 24,000 for hip dysplasia surgeries.
When our 4 year old dog showed pain symptoms, we had both dogs xrayd by the vet with a second evaluation done at the #3 Vet training hospitals in the country. The 4 year old was diagnosed with severe dysplasia in both hips and the 22 month old has some issue in one hip (not sure what that will turn out to be but we’re hopeful it won’t be what the 4 year old went through).
To date, we’ve incurred about $ 8,000 for xrays, evaluations, surgery and post op physical therapy for one hip replacement and are planning for potential expenses to come for the second hip to be replaced on one dog and whatever treatment necessary for the other. Our dogs are important parts of our family and we’ll do whatever it takes to give our dogs a pain free life.
Mistake #2:
Expecting that when a breeder says that hip testing the dogs parents means something, she still believes it after the dog is sold.
Since our two dogs are related (ages 4 and 2), we sent an FYI email to Kathy, the breeder. Kathy’s first asked who the mothers were and informed us that the father’s hips tested «good», reinforcing the belief that hip testing matters in the way she represented when she sold us the dogs.
A follow up email later that same day from Kathy read:
«Ya know, I have always said these tests don’t mean anything… this
is proof»
Knowing that Standard Poodles are among breeds that may develop hip dysplasia, we specifically asked about the accuracy and validity of hip testing when we were researching her as a breeder. She told us then than she tested the dogs she breeds because it did mean something.
After answering her questions, we didn’t hear anything until she read this review (many months later). We requested documentation that she has not, as of this update, provided.
Mistake #3:
Believing this breeder cared about the health of the dogs she’s selling after they’ve left the breeding facility.
Kathy’s flippant dismissal of her previous assertion about hip testing her breeding dogs and of the information about the problems of offspring of her stud followed months of silence, suggested otherwise
I would think that a good breeder would be more responsive to what is largely considered a genetic problem. We didn’t expect the response we got when informing this breeder of these types of problems.
When researching a breeder, dig deep for information. Check out
, call organizations and agencies like Colorado Department of Agriculture (overseas large scale breeders), and check the internet for consistencies in negative reviews. Ask LOTS of questions and ask for documentation of any claim before you buy a puppy. We missed one review from someone who bought a dog with hip dysplasia from Kathy and his assertion of cost to treat was consistent with the costs we’ve incurred to date. If that’s still out there, read her response as well.

This woman just told me to kiss her a** and hung up on me.
HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT?
We bought a teacup yorkie from her on March 19, 2013, FOR A WHOPPING $ 1,185. She refused to let us look at the parents but we took him anyway.
Despite 3 follow-​up conversations in which she agreed to amend the contract to allow us to breed him, she now says if she didn’t put it in writing she won’t honor her verbal agreement.
Now we find out that despite paperwork indicating the dog’s tail was cropped, it was not. One of the dog’s testicles did not drop, and the Vet told us it is hereditary, so we cannot breed him anyway.
Cathy said too bad, she will not pay for the cost of the surgery ($ 350) because we cannot prove that she said she would amend the contract. She insists that the puppy’s father has two testicles, and that the hereditary condition might have come from the dog’s grandfather. So despite the fact that she KNOWINGLY SOLD US A DEFECTIVE DOG, she won’t pay for the surgery.
She was unprofessional, verbally abusive, and does not stand by her dogs. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BREEDER TO ANYONE, AND BUYER BEWARE.
I will follow-​through with a complaint with the BBB and file this same review on every website I can find. Please help me pass the word along.
UPDATE: I filed a complaint with the BBB and found that Cathy makes a practice of providing bad service. I highly recommend that potential buyers read all of the complaints filed with the BBB against this business. Also, you can see on another review below that she does not respond well and is not truthful.

Our experience buying our puppy from ACC Ranch was great. We are first time dog owners and we were a bit hesitant about getting one. We met with Kathy one weekend and got to meet our potential puppy — a mini whoodle. We played with him and we asked Kathy a lot of questions. She asked nearly as many as we did — it was clear that it was important to her that she was matching this puppy with a good home. What I really appreciated is that at the end of our visit, Kathy did not pressure us at all and in fact she insisted that we go home and think about it before she would accept a deposit. We certainly appreciated that since it took us a few days to talk through and when we were ready, Kathy arranged for us to come pick up our Cooper! At 4 months, he is an awesome dog. He is a confident pup, very social, and he has a calm and sweet demeanor. We get unsolicited comments everywhere we take him — our neighbors, the doggie day care staff, the vet, etc — people rave about him. That is what I think makes it worth it to buy from Kathy — you know you are getting a well socialized puppy that has had only good experiences and is ready to become a part of your family. And important for us, he does not shed! Kathy can’t contractually promise anything as far as demeanor, shedding, color, weight, etc; but so far she has been spot on with her predictions for our pup.

I can not recommend ACC Ranch enough to our friends! From my very first inquiry phone call with Kathy she listened to our families needs and asked me so many questions I thought I was on a job interview! Only then did she suggest the perfect breed of dog for our family. Our Sheepadoodle Monroe has proved to be the perfect temperament and personality for our family. Monroe was well socialized before we picked him up, well cared for, and ACC Ranch provided a vet review and shots before we got him. I felt informed and encouraged to ask questions all along the process.
Their prices are reasonable for the types of dogs they breed, they provided a comprehensive and fair contract, and have been more than helpful continuing to answer my questions post purchase.
We were encouraged to come out to visit the ranch to spend time with multiple breeds, and Tammy, the breeder who raised our Sheepadoodle (Kathy did not breed our specific litter on site) invited us to spend time with the puppies without feeling like we were being intrusive to her home. Kathy truly cares about her animals and it is evident from the time you drive up to ACC Ranch. She is passionate about dogs and is a true professional. Don’t hesitate to make a purchase from ACC Ranch, because I am confident that even if we didn’t have a stellar experience (which we did) Kathy would go through a brick wall to make it right. She is just that great.
We have had our puppy Monroe for two months now and could not imagine life without him. Our vet gave him a clean bill of health on his first exam and confirmed that we had an excellent dog. When the time comes for either another pet for our family, or recommending pets to friends, ACC Ranch is at the top of our list!

ACC Ranch was the absolute answer to our dreams. We worked with Kathy (the breeder) for a few months before picking out our puppy. She gave us great advice on which breed, and even which pick of the litter to go with based on our lifestyle, size of yard, location, energy level desire, etc.
We ended up w/​what we believe is the PERFECT DOG!

We had a wonderful experience with ACC ranch. Kathy was great, allowing us to play with numerous puppies when we visited and find the puppy with the temperament that suited us. We chose a Havashire (Havanese and Yorkshire mix) puppy. She has the sweetest temperament and has obviously been well socialized; she loves to be pet and you can touch every part of her as she is very trusting and loving. She is a wonderful balance of quiet/​calm/​independent but playful/​engaged. The vet confirmed she was very healthy and that the breeder had been very thorough with the vaccines and de-​worming as the list she gave us came with the serial numbers which was very professional. Kathy gave us a whole packet including puppy training DVD, and a towel with the scent of the litter that helped the puppy sleep the first few nights. Kathy is a sweetheart, she is a bit of a character but don’t let that throw you off; her devotion to her animals is undeniable.

We have 2 Standard Poodles from ACC Ranch and we could not be more happy with the dogs and our experience with Kathy and her husband. We have had an association with ACC for 5 years and have recommended Kathy’s business to several people. Even our vet, who owns a Standard Poodle from another breeder, has commented several times about what fantastic dogs we have — so calm, healthy and well mannered.
We visit the ranch on a regular basis and bring the dogs so Kathy can see how they are doing. She has always welcomed us and has shown us around to see the many improvements they have made to the ranch over the years. We have always had access to her dogs. We also know that she is very careful about retiring dogs when they get to a certain age. Kathy choses her dogs for health and temperament and it shows well with our two dogs — they have very different personalities but they are so gentle and responsive to us. We have had many different breeds of dogs over 43 years and we will never have anything but a Standard Poodle from ACC Ranch!

Kathy was incredible! She listened to exactly what kind of dog would fit into our lives and personality tested those dogs that we were interested in. We live in SF and are constantly complimented on our whoodle. He is a SWEET dog. He is great with our cats (was socialized with cats at the ranch) and amazing with kids. Kathy and I spoke a number of times after Murphy’s arrival so that I could help his adjustment the best to our ability. We can’t recommend ACC Ranch enough!
