Americraft Siding & Windows

We tried to give this company a chance since they are local, but after a year of constantly reminding them to resolve our problem, I am giving up. It feels like they do not value my family’s business or opinion. I am not trying to be harsh but I feel that 13 months is plenty of time to take care of a customer. We had issues immediately during our installation in last year, September 2014, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.
The installer did not use a tape measure, and when putting in the windows, did not insure that the openings were square. The result was that one windows ended up having too much space in the center due to the window opening being almost 1 inch wider in this area than at the top and bottom, and one was cracked (I had to point it out). The worst part was that the installer wanted to argue with me when I brought it to his attention, and said if he reinstalled the out-​of-​square window and ‘shimmed’ the middle, the window would not open or close. He STILL refused to measure anything until this point in the discussion. I finally got him to measure, and he realized the window was not plumb, and reinstalled it.
Our next issue was the one that I gave up on. Our screens do not fit. My husband noticed immediately upon getting home the day they were installed that there was a significant gap at the top of the windows. They look bad and allow mosquitoes and other bugs to enter home, and wasps try to build nests in the gap. We let them know right away about the issue, and were told that they would look into it. We have had people come out to look at the gaps, measure the gaps and screens, call each other, and supposedly refer the issue to the manufacturer, and then it comes back to their office with no real resolution, at which point they say they are ordering us new screens, and then NOTHING HAPPENS. Bottom line: I have had to call them every month or so and REMIND them that I still had not heard from anyone. They would apologize and claim to be working on the issue, and promise to either be sending someone out, or ordering my screens, at which point I would not hear anything again until my next call, and the next round of excuses.
During a call in September 2015, I was told by one employee that she had heard other complaints of the same issue and that the screens would be reordered in a new size, but I was then told by Mark (Company owner) the same day, that the issue was unsolvable, because if the screens were made any larger, then the spring that rests in the channel where the gap is located would not have any room to retract and the screen would not be able to be removed, ever. This morning my husband removed a screen and the spring Mark mentioned, is located on the SIDE of the screen, NOT in the gap as Mark stated, so making the screens slightly longer would not impede their removal in any way. Mark suggested using weather stripping to fill the gap because as long as there is no light coming through the gap on the inside then it’s not a problem.
I am disappointed in this solution and that he is dropping the ball on this, as he was supposed to return with weather-​stripping and install it, but shockingly, I have heard nothing from him or anyone else at Americraft. I called the window manufacturer directly a few weeks ago and they actually sent us a set of replacement screens under warranty, in hopes that the first set was defective, no questions asked. Unfortunately, they are not any bigger, so we will have to engineer something ourselves since I cannot order screens in a longer size as I obviously need.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Even though I have been registered on the do not call list for a decade, I received a telemarketing call from this company and the person I spoke with was exceptionally disrespectful. I would NOT recommend doing business with this company. Take your business literally anywhere else.

Very good company to do business with they placed an order with us for office furniture we were late on our order but they were understanding and always acted professional they must be treat there customers very good also !

Mark took great care of me and my deck that I recently replaced. his crew were efficient and cleaned up when they finished. I did have an issue with the wood, but Mark took great care to make sure everything was to my complete satisfaction… the deck was a bit pricey however, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend this company again, and would use them for the next remodel

We had them replace 5 windows in our older home (1976) this past winter. They were great to work with and the most competitive in pricing (got several local bids). We will definitely use them again to replace our remaining windows.

I would like to take time to thank Mark and his staff for a wonderful job covering our patio. The workmanship was very impressive. I highly recommend Americraft to anyone in the market for a patio cover. This company went above and beyond to make sure every step was satisfactory and everything that we wanted was achieved. We just got double paned windows installed yesterday & today through Americraft and are very, very happy with the results. The installer, Duane (and Josh) was very punctual, very professional and extremely hard working. It is very clear that he takes pride in his job and we will absolutely use this company again for the remaining windows thanks to how well the installation went.

The salesman was honest, the windows we purchased (Don Young) look great, the price was unbeatable, and the two guys who installed them were fantastic. The windows (16 of them) were installed, trimmed out, and cleaned all in two days. What a great company to do business with! These guys know what there’re doing.

Got 3 bids on kitchen & masterbedroom windows– they had best price– the windows came in AHEAD of schedule & they installed them in my 30yr old home w/​o so much a hiccup– not bc it wasn’t tricky, but bc he had an expert installer who knew what to do! Nice!
