Business Owner

DeWayne Street, owner of DeWayne Street Consulting, is one of the most powerful academic

voices in the area of educational and workplace diversity. Street is most recognized as the

diversity training specialist who helps people see the individual. His innovative strategies move

organizations away from stereotyping and biased practices and toward stronger organizations,

whose members value the contributions of all. Street bases his practice on historical facts,

unveiling patterns of bias and discrimination in an effort to assist people to create their own meaning in their journey toward appreciating others. Street was born on November 2, 1967, in

Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Education (History and Political

Science) from Alabama State University. Street earned an M.S. in Adult Continuing Education

from Northern Illinois University (2002) with a focus in human resource development. Currently

a Doctoral Candidate in Adult Continuing Education from NIU.
