After joining the Army and finishing all my training, I was finally able to go back home and pick my car up. My parents put a new set of tires on my car and got a tune-up before I came home. After driving back to Georgia, my car would putter before taking off. To me it seemed like it needed a tune-up. Since my parents had recently had a tune-up on the car, I did not think that was the problem. The car had a lot of miles on it and other mechanics told me that I might have to get a new car. My friend recommended an auto repair shop in Phenix City that he had taken his car to for some body work. The owner of that shop informed me that he does not do mechanical work, but suggested I take my car to Tracy’s. When I arrived at Tracy’s, he was working on a car and his shop was full. He stopped what he was doing and asked how he could help. I told him the problem with the car and he immediately hooked it up to a diagnostic machine. He said it needed a tune up and he could have it finished in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised how cheap it was to fix. The car ran like new. I had almost 100,000 miles on it and it ran better than it did four years prior. About two years later, the engine started smoking while driving through Phenix City. At this point I thought for sure I was going to have to get a new car. Thankfully, I was right by Tracy’s. It was close to 5:00pm when I brought it in. Once again, he told me he could have it fixed and it should be ready the following day. He waited with me and a friend until our ride came. He gave us some refreshing beverages while we waited and talked to us about life in Phenix City. The car ran like new and the price was a lot lower than I had expected. I highly recommend Tracy’s. He is very honest and won’t try to upsell you on anything that does not need to be fixed. I know this sounds stupid, but I wish I could have taken my car in more. There are a lot of dishonest mechanics out there, but I like giving business to honest people that do quality work. I would have gladly paid more for the work he did on my car. Instead of buying a new car, I spent less than $ 200 and have gotten an extra 50,000 miles out of it.
