The best of the best! I cannot stress how good the instructors are with kids. Sensei Mark, the head instructor, and his wife, Sensei Alicia, run the show and do a fabulous job. Mark is a really nice guy, but he won’t hesitate to put a disrespectful child in his/​her place.
Sensei Steve has a lot of cool tricks up his sleeve and keeps the kids entertained and engaged, and Sensei Jhalani is so sweet and always ready to attend to children who are upset. My son started crying one day and Jhalani talked to him, and walked him around the studio until he was calm and ready to go back on the mat and practice. I have seen him do this with many other kids and sincerely appreciate that.
There are other instructors who have been excellent with kids as well, but the above mentioned names are the guys I see 90 percent of the time.
My son is 4 and his behavior in daycare and at home has changed for the better after a few weeks of karate. He loves going to Amerikick NE and looks forward to his twice a week sessions. In addition to Karate, they have sparring and kickboxing classes so I highly recommend this location for both adults and kids.
