Bella Vista Beer Distributors

First off this place has a huge selection. When you ask where a specific beer is located, make sure you know the brewer (and state), or it might not be easy to find.
Now my issue. I specifically called them this morning to see if they had a specific beer (by Heavy Seas Brewing, Baltimore). They said they had one case left. I then asked if it was ‘old’, and was told or course not. Now I drive on over, and what do I find? They indeed had the beer, but it’s best by date was October 2015 (it is now end of January 2016). I don’t really feel like paying forty three dollars for a case of skunky beer. There were other Heavy Seas cases that had best by dates of May 2015! (so I guess that this one was relatively new?)
In any case, I will take my business elsewhere (even though I also wanted some more common Blue Moon).
I have been to the KOP Beer Distributer (not Kunda), and at least they were honest with me when I asked about the beer, and said that they had an ‘old’ case that they would sell at a discount. I passed on that one.
I am sick an tired of skanky beer — for full retail, they should be able to have some fresh stuff, it’s not like it is a seasonal beer (all though some of them are, and that might explain older best buy dates).

Effing awesome. The selection is sickening and the prices best all the competition. Enough said.

This place definitely has a large selection of beer, but it’s way overpriced. Granted, I don’t like craft beer, but for Yuengling, the price was ridiculous considering I can get a draft for $ 3 in the city. It’s in a location filled with people who love craft beer and are generally well off, so I’m sure they get the business, but you can find better down on Washington Ave (forget the name).

Great place to buy beer in the city. I live around the corner so it’s nice to be able to walk here, but if you need to drive, they do have a few loading zone parking spots that you can easily use. Selection of beers is comprehensive, staff is helpful. I do wish they had more refrigerated beers, but I suppose when you’ve got this big a stock it’s hard to keep much stuff cold.
Visitors: you’ll have to get used to the wacky state liquor laws that don’t allow them to sell 6-​packs, or wine or liquor for that matter. Still, this is a great locale when you need a case of brews.

Excellent selection of beers, prices are a bit on the expensive side but you are sure to find what you are looking for. They have tastings on Friday between afternoon, call ahead to find what the offerings of the day are.

One of my favorite distributors. It never fails in its selection, but its premium selection comes at a cost. Expect a few bucks more per case (in my experience). Lately, the trek down there hasn’t been worth it for me, but such is life for a father with a two-​year-​old.

Great selection of beers (and mixers). I was happy to recently discover that they now sell 12-​packs!

Whoever said the prices were good, must have been blinded by the great selection. Beware, unless Bella Vista has it plastered on the side of one of their trucks, the craft beer you are buying may be way overpriced. Keep in mind that they are probably receiving a large quantity of those cases for free because they have that specific beer emblazoned on their vehicles. Therefore, many of those cheap cases may be «pure profit» for Bella Vista. At first I was fooled by the smiles and beer banter. However, after losing a large chunk of my paycheck a couple of times, I thought I would do some price shopping. Beware beer snobs: unless you have no other choice, head to the suburbs and buy your beer at Acme or Whole Foods. I know, I know, you don’t want to support big ugly corporations. But get this, Bella Vista is their vendor, and the beer is cheaper than Bella Vista has it in their warehouse?!? And in the case of Bella Vista, you’re buying a case, so it should be cheaper, not more than a six pack. These guys are laughing all the way to the bank! The only reason I gave them 2 stars is due to the selection. Cheers!

We love these guys and always head here before every party. Their variety is great and the staff are always helpful. We can always count on them to be reasonably priced and have a good stock of staples (Lager, PBR, High Life, etc.), seasonal variety packs, and less popular (but delicious) german pilsners (our family favorite).
Parking is relatively easy (street/​angle) and they have the best price for ice in town.
Highly recommend for your beer case needs (and soda by the case in a pinch).

Once again I accidentally purchased an expired case of beer this time it was almost a year old. It was not a rare bottler or beer as well. I am not sure if they just give the fresh cases to restaurants and leave us the backwash but clearly they do not care about their customers or soon to be former customers. I talked to the manager and owner about my situation and he told me that it is ok for them to sell year old beer.
Time to find a new beer store that does not treat the customer like a tool.

I used to go here all the time as it is 2 blocks from the house but yesterday I was greeted by an Employee an older woman who asked me if I was Mexican. What, I can’t appreciate Mexican beer without being one. The white family in front of me were not carded however when I got to the register I was carded (no biggie I’m 40 but don’t look it so I’m used to getting carded) they proceeded to card everyone with me. I had my niece with me??? They would not allow me to purchase beer. You need to apply this policy uniformly to EVERYONE. You need to hire more intelligent employees who can better interpret the law. I will never be back!!! Horrible experience.

Today was about the last straw for me at Bella Vista as I brought a case to the register, only to be told they couldn’t sell it to me because all the cases of that beer had already been reserved by restaurants or something. It was sitting right out on the shelf, so I’m not sure why it was there if it was «unavailable». They hardly ever have this particular beer when I’m looking for it, and usually they’re out of my second and third choices as well and I’m just tired of it. They don’t need me as a customer clearly if they can’t keep things in stock, and it’s all owned by the state anyway so who gives a crap. They’re never able to say when the next shipment of a certain beer is coming in either so going there is always a crap shoot.
Several times I’ve gotten damaged and even incomplete cases there, so now I always open the case before I leave to make sure everything is as it should be. The last time that happened it was with Ballast Point Sculpin cans: of the three remaining cases left, *all* of them had been crudely re-​taped. Being the idiot I was I bought it anyway. There was one can that was leaking open, and another can that was not Sculpin at all but a completely different beer from another brewery (that also happened with another case). That time I actually saved the receipt and was able to get exactly one can of Sculpin to replace it but not so much as an apology from the manager in charge at the time, who didn’t even come out to speak to me, instead of relying on the guy at the register to act as an intermediary. When I told the guy at the register how I’ve encountered a number of compromised cases, and that such cases really shouldn’t be sold at all, he said something to the effect of, «Well it’s a lot of money for us to lose…»
Yeah, I bet. With the markup on alcohol I’m sure the owner (s) of Bella Vista make more money in a year than I ever will, and no it’s not that much money for the distributor to lose, considering the volume they deal with. With no effort (or incentive) to determine the source of case-​tampering, or to maintain stock of anything (perhaps this is beyond their control but they could still manage it better), I think this distributor will start to become my last resort.

This is admittedly a bitter and frustrated review. Myself and 3 friends approached the doors at 6:03 on 4^th of July, the sign said they closed at 6pm. There was a man standing at the door manually letting people out of the automatic doors. We begged and pleaded and they wouldn’t let us in to buy a case of beer. Happy 4^th of July to you guys too. You’ve forever lost a customer for your unAmerican spirit.

Ownership needs to respond to neighborhood complaints about high pitched noise coming from their building 24 hours a day. The beer becomes a secondary consideration when compared with the constant high pitched noise pollution that emanates from some sort of condenser or fan they have failed to address or fix over the past year plus.

The prices here are an absolute joke. I have friends who live in the area so I get stuck going here from time to time. While I always complain about the price, the last straw was when they sold me a case of Victory Summer Love for over $ 47. $ 47!!! Society hill just a few blocks away sells the same case for more than $ 10 less. That is most definitely my final visit to this joke of a distributor. Anyone who goes here is a sucker.
In addition, I got turned away on nfl conference championship Sunday because they were doing inventory. I asked the owner what the closest distributor was that was open on Sundays and he said that there are none and that he pays more to be open on Sundays. Meanwhile I knew for a fact Society Hill is open on Sundays.
If you want to be robbed and treated like a fool, feel free go here. If you want to be treated with respect and pay a good price, go to society hill.

For the best selection in craft beer by the case, this is the place. Looking for that rare west coast IPA? Look no further than Bella Vista Distributors. They also have all of the local breweries along with national and international.

They sold me a piece of equipment that was used for full price. They told me it was the last one they had and that it was the same price as a brand new one– it was dirty and there was old beer in it.
When I inquired about it they kind of shrugged and said ‘that’s the price’. I was in a bind and needed it so I took it. Their beer selection is decent albeit overpriced.

An excellent place to shop for beer and drinks. While having brunch across the street, we stopped in and were floored by the great selection of beer by the case.
We ended up getting some Bells and Port Brewing which we can’t get in NYC. Would recommend coming here if you want to get great beer at a good price. They also have parking, making it even easier to get what you need.

Bella Vista has a GREAT selection of cases and kegs, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Couple that with a clean, spacious store in a relatively central location of the city, and this is WooHoo! beer shopping at its best.
I’m happy to pay a slight mark-​up for the convenience of the location. As a non car-​owning city dweller, a trip for a case of beer usually requires bumming a ride or renting a car. Bella Vista is close enough that I can walk my beer home, or easily grab a cab on 11^th Street if I have more than one case.

Very simple: the selection here is really great. There is a lot to offer and some weird and hard to find stuff.
My issue, is that the basic, local, craft beer is overpriced. I don’t mean a dollar or two. I mean at least $ 3+ more per case than other places in the city. I can find Yards easily in Philly for less than $ 30/​case. Every case I was interested in was closer to $ 35. Why?
Need something weird? Come on down, you probably won’t find it elsewhere.
Need something basic or local? Go elsewhere.
