Best Buy

DO NOT USE GEEK SQUAD. They will charge you 10.99 per month and then half the phone in deductible for anything that goes wrong with the phone. It will also take a week or two to get your phone back and you will have to purchase a replacement phone if you want to have a phone while they send yours out. They do not problem solve or offer anything other than complete phone replacement. Their customer service is terrible. It is not just this location, it is their headquarters too. This is the company policy.

Buying in store may be fine here, but NEVER ORDER AN APPLIANCE TO BE DELIVERED FROM S. PHILLY BEST BUY. After waiting two weeks for a replacement dryer, the driver was a complete no show, and lied to get out of the delivery. My tail of woe is as follows — the delivery company called at the very end of their window claiming to be at my door with no one answering. No one was there, and when I explained this they then said that they couldn’t actually get there because my street was too small. I live in S. Philly and while there are small streets, mine is not one. School buses turn down the street daily, and there is an auto shop across the street that constantly has cars towed inside so this is total BS. I tried to explain this to the driver, and he then claimed he could not come because there would be no parking. I went out side and told him I was holding a spot and he should make a pass of the street and see for him self. No trucks drove by, and after 30 minutes later I got a text telling me the street was to small and he was canceling the delivery. I called the delivery company back and spoke to Chris the supervisor, who said the truck was still in the area and he would get them to come back. After waiting another 30min in the cold, I called again and was told they would not come, and never said they would. Seriously!?! I took the day off from work, and am with out dryer until for 3 more weeks. My guess is they were running late and skipped my appointment to make the next. If this sounds like the kind of company you want to do business with feel free, but I would steer well clear of the best buy appliance delivery, they are simply the worst.

December 7^th during the holiday shopping season and they had ONE register open and over 8 people waiting on line. Took way longer to check out than to show. Their new cash register system also slows down the process by asking you three questions. Not sure this Beat Buy Management team is capable.

I just had the worst retail experience I ever had at a reputable co. I came in the store looking to purchase a brand new $ 4300.00 Samsung 75inch Tv. when getting ready to check out, the sales rep told me that they price match & when I found a price lower at appliance
than the sticker price they told me that can’t authorize this because the website «isn’t not a Samsung authorize dealer» when I called the 1800 number they told me that they are & show me the logo on that website to prove that they are. so the sales rep grabbed his manager Greg & when I proved to him my points & he went to grab his «boss» which was also named Greg.
my point is the people here do not know what they are talking about. They make promises they don’t stand behind & I was looking to make a huge purchase & I will be taking my business else where. I will never come back to this Best Buy simply because of the two sales guy.

I have to start this post by saying this is only for the columbus boulevard location as I like Best Buy in general. I walked into this location a few weeks ago with my mind set on purchasing a large flat screen tv and the mounting bracket and a few other smaller items if they were available — but had my mind set that I would be leaving the store with a new television for my living room. My only issue was I couldn’t get anyone to assist me in the store — the store was not crowded, it was middle of the afternoon on a Monday, and there were employees available, but none were interested in helping me or any of the other few wandering customers in the store. I did not take this as a personal issue — they were just lazy/didn’t want to be bothered — maybe their manager was not there? Whatever the case, after perusing the store for about thirty minutes and not being able to corral any of the associates into assisting me I left and went to the Best Buy in Delaware where they could not have been more helpful. Are you not paying your associates enough in Philly or are the people applying that few and far between that you put up with such slackers? This is not the first time I have encountered this at this location — so it is definitely unique to this store. This is also the closest to my house and I will now go out of my way to go to other locations.

Some of the staff at Best Buy will approach you and ask if you need assistance and some will actually make eye contact with you from a distance and stare at you blankly… it’s weird.
The cashiers are friendly and so is the gentleman by the entrance/​exits.

Maritza in checkout area deserves 5 stars, even a mini-​parade and more!!! She is professional. courteous and endlessly patient. Came to be 3^rd in line with a purchase. Person in front had multi questions; plus had picked item not on sale as they thought; had issues buying with plastic. She wasn’t ruffled, kept a smile on (DAMN — A SINCERE ONE YOU COULD TELL) didn’t get upset; had someone grab sale item and talked person into joining a rewards program. Wish there were more like her. Best Buy should give this lady a raise, do whatever they need to so she stays with them

I use to like this store but it has so many rules now it’s ridiculous. Now the 14 or 15 day return policy is terrible. You don’t even have enough time to see if you like the item. Also whenever you return something, EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE A RECEIPT!, they want your license! BULL CRAP ON THAT! I never shop here anymore. I don’t like there p

Yep, it’s a Best Buy. Not much to say here other than to give some credit where credit is due. At this location I have had nothing but great experiences with customer service on the floor. When I ask for help or for a solution to a specific problem I have had some creative work around posed by various employees. It shows a level of attention that is slowly eroding in America. The Millennials that I normally interact with are not truly «present» in the moment. They are standing there, but they are otherwise distracted by their handhelds. Best Buy must have a good training program as the people I have had to deal with at this location really know their stuff, and know how to please the customer. They are also good at add on sales, which is the ultimate goal of any business, to increase gross sales and profit. Good job.

I was here today to purchase a tablet. The first associate who came up to me was offering for help in a friendly manner but he didn’t seem to know well about those tablets. When I asked questions, he gave me some uncertain answers and walked away. He came back with certain answers after looking up online but he again just gave me an uncertain answer to my simple question. When the second associate came up to me I wasn’t ready for asking questions so I didn’t take his help.
The third customer associate, ROB who helped me was the most helpful person there who would make sure he was giving me correct information. He was very patient and polite. He helped me out to decide a tablet based on my needs. I don’t expect all the associate to know all the information about the tablets that they have but they should at least have a booklet with all the info ready to answer their customers’ questions. If you don’t want to spend time looking up online to give me correct info, please don’t come up to me and pretend to help.

Shout out to Alex, the very helpful salesman who helped us pick out the best TV for gaming. He was both patient and knowledgeable. This branch of Best Buy is clean, and has a lot of sales people that are willing to help. They are willing to match their prices with any price that you find online including at Amazon, so if you find something that you like look it up and show them the price difference. There’s also a rewards card that will get you points that add up to gift cards.

I don’t know what to say about my experience here this Saturday. It was both horrible and good at the same time.
We went in looking for a new TV and it took an eternity (half an hour) for a sales associate to actually acknowledge us and help us. That sucked, but then when he started helping us (the guy’s name is Greg) he was incredibly, INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about what we needed.
We decided on a TV and he sold us on getting a sound bar and an Apple TV as well. We probably worked with Greg for about 45 minutes deciding what to get and what was best for us.
When he went back to get the TV he informed us that there were none left, one left in the Montgomeryville location, and none anywhere else. So, we had to start all over in choosing a different TV. We would have ordered it online but he was very adamant that UPS sucks and shipping TVs and he’s seen a lot of them come back damaged.
It was like every damn thing he showed us was gone! It finally got to the point where he went into his storage and looked to see what TVs he DID have in order to help us decide what to pick.
Eventually it all turned out fine and we got what we needed, but it was absolutely a stressful experience (especially because I didn’t feel like getting a new TV — that was all my husband). I’d recommend going during the day on a weekday — it’d probably be less crowded and you’d be able to get the attention you need to make a good choice expeditiously.

It is a Best Buy, much like any other. but the employees are not attentive — or if they are, they don’t give an F. I was there for about five minutes looking at the TVs on display and nobody came up to me. I didn’t ask someone for help, but employees were goofing around with each other and didn’t seem to care about customers that obviously could use assistance.
Prices are not that great either. Most things in the store can be purchased off Amazon for a significant amount cheaper. that’s the route I am going.
