Description

Specialties

Our passion for food and drink is rivaled only by our steadfast commitment to offering our diners the best overall experience. You see, we are a family of artists, musicians, chefs, bartenders and more, intent on creating a culture of friends who share our passion for all things delicious.

Our Chefs food is heavily influenced by Creole cuisine, but not only the southern Creole we all know and love, but all Creole, Cuban, Haitian, Jamaican, Bahamian and more. We run a scratch kitchen, which means everything is made from scratch, from the potato chips to the aiolis. If the flavors of a Creole kitchen are what you’re looking for, then Bourbon and Branch is for you. Oh, and lets not forget about our extensive 80+ Whiskey selection, our 17 craft drafts, or our exquisite hand crafted cocktails.

The Second floor is for after dinner, where we host only the best local and touring musicians in Philadelphia. We call ourselves a «Boutique» music venue, with the best sound and lights that would rival even the biggest venues. Come to a show and see for yourself.

History

Established in 2014.

Our passion for food and drink is rivaled only by our steadfast commitment to offering our diners the best overall experience. You see, we are a family of artists, musicians, chefs, bartenders and more, intent on creating a culture of friends who share our passion for all things delicious.

Yet an Altar still, our bar (from an old decommissioned church on 10th and green) is used to praise a different kind of spirit, the spirit of Ischabaha, the spirit of whiskey. The second floor bar and stage will be home only to the finest musicians and performers, offering up the best time to be had in Northern Liberties.

We truly believe in our ability to offer not only superb food and drink at a friendly price, but also an experience you wont soon forget.

Meet the Business Owner

Alex C.

Business Owner

Executive Chef and Owner, Alex Carbonell, has been cooking in and managing restaurants for over a decade. His fledgling stages in the industry were defined by working as a kitchen hand in the restaurant of a family friend at age 14, and he hasn’t looked back since. Carbonell studied under the strictest master chef the culinary world has ever known, his grandmother, Maria Gonzalez. You can bet he was upheld to the highest of standards.

Alex was born and raised in Key West, and also lived in Miami for several years, where he first began falling in love with his native Cuban cuisine. He later realized how similar his beloved Cuban «Comida Criolla» was to Southern Creole cooking, and began his journey studying and experimenting with Southern fare. Carbonell has opened 5 restaurants so far in his career, beginning with the humble «It’s Nutts Restaurant» in Titusville, NJ. A small family restaurant, made famous by its succulent fried chicken, homemade iced cream, and Trenton Style Pizza.
