Comcast Service Center

Comcast is literally the bane of my existence and makes me want to die every time I have to interact with them.

We were so happy that Lawrence was our technician today! He was amazing!
The phone call the night prior was a little different. We were originally told that someone would be out Tuesday (four days from the phone call). But Lawrence made it out the next day. And he was great in every way.

By far the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with. I have been hung up on, transferred without being told I was going to be transferred (cold transfers at that), told I was going to receive phone calls back from supervisors three times now and none have ever called me back… all of this while trying to UPGRADE my services. No one is ever on the same page either. There is never ever notes taken about issues when called, when trying to speak with someone via chat so that there is a record that can be printed, no one is ever able to help resolve issues and I am told to call the 800 number. I would not recommend comcast to anyone. As a long time customer, I have been treated horribly and wasted numerous hours to try to resolve issues, etc., but have gotten no where. At this point, I think it would be easier to just cancel services and go with another company… even if I have to pay more per month.

The WORST of the WORST and that is an insult to the worst out there. This company could cause one to stroke out. Saying I despise them is just too nice but I don’t think you can curse on here. I have however, cursed on the never ending series of transfers one experiences when contacting them. The very moment FIOS comes to my area, I am out. What in the world is so hard about switching a customer’s address?! I moved a month ago, confirmed with 2 different people that my address was changed on my account and both of them I guess lied to me because of course my address was not changed. And so I decided to do the whole chat thing with an agent since on the phone I kept getting hung up on and transferred to irrelevant departments (read my previous review). P. S. on that, Unilocal deleted my picture of my multiple calls to Comcast since they kept hanging up on me #lame. This agent told me that I needed to re-​register my modem at my new address and they would transfer my account, which the people on the phone never told me. Why isn’t anyone on the same page here? Am I the only customer who has ever moved? Did as she said.
I was told by the chat lady it would take 72 hours to update my profile — she also lied because it’s been longer than that and I log in and still see all these issues. And of course I STILL couldn’t see ANY of my correct account info on my online profile. Nope, just two dead account numbers and my old address (which by try 4 still wasn’t been changed — they still had my old address on file).

This new guy Christian (14^th person I’ve talked to in over a year… not even lying) is saying that it’ll just take a few minutes to switch my login to my new address. IT BETTER, CHRISTIAN. IT BETTER.
And he says there is no username even associated with my new account… So what have I been logging in with? How come no one told me I needed a new username? What were all these service ticket numbers for? What were all these «Please wait while your login is being transferred» holds for? Then he said there was an error transferring my old username from my old account (which didn’t even work for that address) to my new one… Was no one ever going to tell me this?
After telling Christian to just give me a new username associated with my new account…

Lesson: Stay on top of your ish with Comcast and make them fix your issues! Chat with them, don’t call. Calling is THE WORST. I had to be really really really involved in fixing the issue, ugh. I just better not find out that making a new username with every new account is SOP…
Conclusion: 1 star still because of all the stress and frustration I got from this mess, and that 1 star goes to Christian who took all the heat. Please FCC, don’t let them buy Time Warner. And please give Philadelphia Google Fiber!

I too wish I could give Comcast zero stars to equate to the zero F’s they give about their customers. After being a customer for close to two decades I’ve finally decided I can no longer take their incompetence. I have been struggling along with them for approximately six months after moving and having service transferred. Long story short, after hours upon hours upon hours on hold over dozens of phone calls, several tech visits to my place (one complete no show/​no call) I was finally told my issue is due to the fact that I was given the incorrect wireless modem (don’t understand why it took six months to figure that out) and I could simply exchange at my local service center. Well I just returned from my local service center and they would not exchange my modem, stating it needed «professional installation» so just another case of disregard for their customers time. It’s disgusting how this company operates and the worst part is they will most likely never feel any repercussions from the horrible service they provide, the comcast machine will just keep chugging along overcharging customers for a terrible service.

This is the WORST company in the history of mankind. THEY DESERVE MINUS FIVE STARS AT BEST. They have now wasted A RECORD 24 PLUS HOURS OF MY TIME. I spent almost an hour on the phone setting up my new «Triple Play» package. The moron on the phone NEVER EVER put in the changes… The tragedy begins. The idiot also set me up for an appointment for an installation of a phone line when all I needed to do was pick up the Wireless Gateway Modem at the local Havertown PA office. They missed THREE appointments in a row… NO CALL, NO SHOW. A FRIGGIN’ SMALL CHILD WOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO DO THAT. I wasted hours on the phone trying to find out where the technician was but they kept routing my calls to the Phillipine Islands where they actually LIED to me and gave me estimates of when the tech. was going to show up when they never spoke with anyone in the states. I had Comcast give me 3 twenty dollar credits, a sixty dollar credit and lastly a fifty dollar credit that never showed up on my account. The 50 was shown to me by an employee in the office but then it magically disappeared by the next time I went to the office. The manager later took care of that by giving me the modem free for the first year.
Of course when my bill came through in the beginning of January, Comcast overcharged me by ONE HUNDRED AND NINE DOLLARS. I went into the local office again and they told me it would be all set in a couple of days. It was still screwed up and the changes to the 89.99 a month triple play were never implemented. I called up furious and the man in the office said it was still wrong and he would take care of it. Allegedly he did, but I never saw it on my computer when I log in. I called billing on the 800 number and the man allegedly took care of everything and gave me what I guess is a useless ticket number because with this asshole monopoly you NEVER have any recourse. He said it would take a day to update in the system so I could see the changes. It didn’t update and the amazing thing is after torturing me and wasting no less than TWENTY FOUR HOURS of waiting around for technicians that never call or show up and an incredible amount of time on the phone to these jackasses, COMCAST REFUSES TO EITHER UPDATE MY ACCOUNT SO WHEN I LOG IN I CAN SEE EVERYTHING IS CORRECT OR SEND ME A SIMPLE EMAIL REFLECTING THE CHANGES. This is unprecedented. With any normal respectable company after they screw you over time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time again, they will either give you a piece of paper showing the corrections or send you an email, or better yet, update the system. So when I look online and when I call the 800 number the automated lady says my balance is 163 dollars instead of 54 dollars. For the fact that they give THE WORLD’S WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HATE ME AND YOU, THE PAYING CUSTOMER, I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THE CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE. I am heading down to the office for the 4^th time during this tragic mess to try to get these friggin’ pinheads to print me out some proof that everything has been done. Even still, who knows if and when it will ever show correctly when I log into my account or if I will be charged 54 dollars instead of 163 on 2÷1÷15. If I FIOS was available where I live I would have told these jerk-​offs to fly kite weeks ago. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS COMPANY. THEY MAKE MY SKIN CRAWL. I HAVE LOST SLEEP AND TIME OFF MY LIFE WITH ALL THE STrESS AND SCREAMING AT USELESS IDIOTS ON THE TELEPHONE. PLEASE COMCAST, DIE A MISERABLE DEATH!!!

**This is a review for Comcast and their «Moving? Comcast Transfer Service”**
I recently moved from Washington, D.C. to Philadelphia. I called Comcast’s moving services and was promised/​offered the following:
1) Close my DC account on a specified date
2) Open my Philadelphia account on a specified date (so the service would be on when I arrived)
3) I could take my cable modem and wouldn’t have to turn it in/​pick up a new one
4) A BETTER cable and internet package than I already had — 25mbps and basic cable for 39.99 (I didn’t not have cable TV in DC so I thought, why not, it was cheaper than what I was paying)
When I arrived in Philadelphia, I called to reactivate the cable modem. This took an additional 24 hours because the modem was «taken out of service» when I moved, although I was told I could take it. Fine, I tried to have it all working when I arrived, but what’s another 24 hours.
Eventually, the modem turned on and I had service. I then receive my bill. $ 77($ 60-​something without taxes to be fair). OR, $ 37 more than I was sold when I contacted the moving/​transfer service. I was then told that the 39.99 package could not be offered because it was not available. What?
Fine.
Next, I find out that my old DC account was never closed and I was charged an additional month on my old account, which I could not access online because all of my account info was now linked to my new account. After about 4 or so hours on hold and being transferred around, they put in the system to close my account and grant a refund.
It appears the refund was granted about a week later. I’ll hold my breadth until I know that the old account isn’t still being charged.
So, in sum, NONE of the four points promised/​offered upon calling the moving/​transfer hotline occurred.
1) My DC account was not closed
2) My Philadelphia account was not ready when I arrived, although activated before I arrived
3) Part of the account closure issue was because I took the modem, which I was told I could do. It would have been better to just close that account first and start a new account later.
4) The new cable/​tv package offered was not, in fact, a real offer.
My advice for moving? Do NOT call the moving/​services line. Close your current account and turn in any equipment. Then reopen a new account at your new address.
Good luck movers. On the plus side, my apartment building is also configured for Verizon FIOS. It may be worth a switch.
*** Update 3÷15÷15
Comcast has made things «right» by refunding the money taken from my DC account which was supposed to be closed — and finally did close that account. They also provided a credit for my current monthly bill. I am very satisfied that they made things… the way they WERE SUPPOSED TO BE after 3 months. Review increased to 2 stars, but no more due to the aggravation getting to that point. This should never have happened and should have been solved much earlier — why did they never follow up with me when they said they were going to close my account but didn’t on two other occasions? Moving advice still applies — close your account first, then open a new account at your new address.

Monopoly-​works great if your the one with it, and at least in this part of the woods, that’s our monolithic roommate Comcast (or is that idiotic «Xfinity»)The TV and phone work pretty well-​at these prices they should. I love all the Xfinity ads on pay cable, too-​fun! Internet? God help you if you have a problem-​and whatever you do forget their email-​HORRIBLE –I’ve fussing with it for 15 years. Well, I guess i’m the 2388^th person to write a scathing review for Comcast’s horrible service! My husband has been trying to reach Comcast for over a week to correct our horrible service! He has been on hold multiple times for 2 hours at a time. He has yet to reach a technician. He only gets through to the new customer line and they are useless. They tell you to call a another phone number only for the automated message to hang up on you and tell you to call again later. We are new customers we left Verizon to save a few dollars, big mistake! Out computers worked like a dream with verizon, with Comcast we can’t even check our emails. Out TV is constantly going out and right now ha been out for 6 hours! The worst customer service ever! We can’t wait to cancel Comcast and go back to Verizon!

I don’t even know where to start with this company. I’ve never in my life dealt with a large provider who has extremely poor service, and incompetent customer service staff.
I had an issue that seemed like a simple fix… My television gave a notice that my device needs to be activated. After spending 3 ½ hours on the phone (in one sitting) my issue remained unresolved. Each technician went through the same «turn the tv off, reboot you box…». I honestly don’t think these people know what the heck they’re doing, I was transferred 3 times, with a 20 – 30 minute wait between transfers. This experience was extremely frustrating it brought me to tears i was so angry. The last person I spoke with, I asked for a department where I can file a complaint (not that it would help, they’re all one in the same), instead she gave me a 855 # (and hung up on me) that was for customers to disconnect their services. I was able to get ahold of the corporate office, who answered promptly, but I“m still dealing with comcast so I really didn’t get anywhere. I was able to vent my frustration and was promised a call back from a technician from the corporate office within 24 hours… I’m still waiting… and still no cable service. In all the back and forth, I spent a little over 4 hours on the phone… and nothing was accomplished.
It is truly unfair for such a large company to religiously collect customers money each month but we can’t get prompt and effective customer service… this company should be shut down.
Comcast deserves no stars. I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We as customers need prompt service and technicians who can effectively troubleshoot cable issues. They need to meet the standards of running a REAL business… they’re absolutely ridiculous.

Where do I start? Worst customer service. Liars at every level. Long waits for what they generously call «customer service» and, these are their best features

Worst company in America. Almost every month they add a few dollars to my bill. Value for money is terrible. HD TV is massively compressed, giving ringing, contouring, posterizing, staircase noise & blockiness, even during prime time shows. Internet is slow as poop, unless you pay out the wazoo. They charge for installation, even when you have all your own gear. Oh and don’t go to a service center unless you like waiting longer than the post office. I returned my receiver, only to be called 3 times asked for me to return it. I had to fax them the receipt…

The problem with Comcast on a local level is that they choose to use private contractors whose ability may vary from good to horrible. There are always new contractors coming out when you have a problem. This in of itself is indicative of a company with a focus on the bottom line as opposed to customer service.
Today, our entire area lost the Comcast connection. The techs got the system up and running but did not stay to make sure all is well. Instead they quickly left the area and went onto another job. This is typical of Comcast and its tech base. Unlike Verizon whose «actual» employees locate a problem and don’t leave until it is resolved.
We once had a tech come out to replace our modem with another used modem. I asked him if he had any new modems and he admitted he had none. We were forced to accept a used modem which turned out to be a bad modem. He had to know that but because he was a contractor rather than an employee for the company, my strong guess is that he knowingly hooked us up with a bad modem so he would get paid by the company for performing a modem hook up. Another tech followed up the next day with another modem that was used and that was bad. Finally fed up, I called the company and told them I wanted a new modem and wanted credit on our business bill for the days we were using bad modems.
I do believe Comcast cable will eventually disappear with Verizon and Google expanding. It’s a shame but the real problem goes all the way to the top. It’s the decision of the CEO to make wise decisions and to assure that the quality of product is at its best. By continually using poorly trained contractors instead of hiring and training employees to do this work they have earned a reputation that may be the worst in the cable industry.

Problem #1 — I had to return my equipment to this location in the middle of nowhere because Comcast told me so. Never mind that there is a location much closer to my house, I still had to come here.
Problem #2 — They open at 9 am M-​F, and when I arrived at 9:20 there were already ELEVEN people in line.
Problem #3 — The machine where you can pay your Comcast bills was mysteriously missing, so everyone who would normally use the machine was actually in line just trying to pay their bills.
Problem #4 — There was ONE employee working the window. ONE.
When someone in line asked if she could get help, she said that «someone will be out when the next shift starts.» Apparently the «next shift» begins at 10 am. The guy said out loud what I was thinking in my mind: «Next shift?! YOU JUST OPENED 20 MINUTES AGO!»
What a cluster F. So glad I’m switching to Verizon. EAT IT, COMCAST! I don’t have to deal with your bullshit anymore!

If I could have a different ISP in my area of the city, I would’ve dropped Comcast long ago. Not only is there customer service shoddy (it seems like a 1 in 10 chance that you’ll talk to a billing rep or tech support person who is actually competent), but their equipment is, as well. I moved into this house 6 months ago and I’ve had to replace 3 different boxes on 3 different occasions. Not a very good success rate. Also, lets not forget that every single time I need a technician needs to visit my house, I miss work.
My other problem is this: I live in Philadelphia. I’m physically located IN Philadelphia. Yet my internet traffic is being routed through Delaware. My IP address ALWAYS shows as originating in Delaware. You might not think this matters, but it’s a very inefficient way to handle network traffic, since I would assume that Philadelphia has its own infrastructure. My only guess is that Comcast didn’t build a network that’s scalable enough to handle Philadelphia, so they increase the latency of your connection by routing through another state.
For the cost of their service (and the time I spend on the phone every single month to correct my bill AND/​OR to deal with tech support), you do not get the quality that you pay for. If at all possible, choose another ISP. RCN and FIOS do have coverage in Philly and the surrounding area, just not complete coverage; you may be one of the lucky ones.

Went in here to drop off a box when my one time promotion had ended. I waited patiently for the next available agent. The lines were poorly marked, and I failed to understand the need to stand in one or the other since I was next either way, so I just waited by the front to be called. I was barked at that I was standing in the wrong line. There was no line, so to speak, as I was the next and only customer. They could use some customer service skills at this location. Like, you ask the person if they can be helped but you can never let on if you assume they’re an idiot or can’t be helped.
The mailing address, listed as Wayne Ave, is confusing because if you arrive there, you see signs that tell you that the entrance is on an different street (around the corner), while the entrance that would be on Wayne Ave is securely fortified with only employee vehicles allowed. The fortified gate is a tripping hazard in spots, if you are on foot from Wayne Ave to the actual entrance.
I got my turn-​in receipt which is all I came for, and I’m sort of relieved I didn’t have to haggle with them to end my service, or retell them the common story about how their rates going up 40% was my reason for dissatisfaction. I’m sure they hear this every day anyway without needing to pry. However, a little bit of thanks for being a customer, or please come back anytime you need us, would have been ok. I guess their customer service is not emphasized, because training would be too expensive for this outfit. They’re just bill collectors, here, not salesmen.

Recently I moved to PA and decided to get just Internet service from Comcast, from their website they had an offer to get a Modem for free, I signed up not knowing that the modem was being bundled in by a 3^rd party to the deal «Offerwire» whom has a Notorious reputation of not delivering on Anything they offer.
The fact that the Modem Rebate was being handled by «Offerwire» was not disclosed until after you submit your credit card information and then you are directed to their website and given the rediculus «Terms» that must be met to obtain the rebate.
After I signed up for internet service, it took comcast exactly 55 days to come out and hook me up, and that was after making 7 phone calls and a personal visit to get something done. I finally went to the Sellersville, PA. Comcast office to try and do something in person and was able to get someone to come out and turn on the service.
I was given a reduced rate of $ 14.95 by the Sellersville Comcast employee instead of the $ 29.95 rate for six months for all the trouble — «But Wait!, there’s more» as they like to say on the Comcast TV Infomersials.
After only 1 month I get a letter from Comcast saying I was not being charged enough and my rate was being «Adjusted» to $ 29.95 for six months and then $ 49.95 per month after that… Gee Thanks for the Great Thank You deal!
Ok, now back to the Offerwire rebate of my $ 169.00 for the Modem and Wifi repeater I purchased from them but thought I was buying from Comcast. I was told in emails sent to me AFTER I signed up that to receive the rebate I must show 2 months of bills from comcast, So I waited 2 months to get several bills together and send in with the Box Bar codes from the boxes and receipts only to be told that I did not meet the required time frame to receive the rebate which was only 30 days.
WHAT! — It took me over 4 Months to just get the stuff needed to Hook me up from Comcast and collect some bills. But I think they already knew that would happen.
I cancelled service after that and told them to NEVER darken my door again. I should have known that Comcast was trouble when I went into the Sellersville Comcast office and was greeted by a person behind 3″ thick Bulletproof Plexiglass windows and a Bomb Blast box to pass equipment back and forth through to the person inside., They don’t have that there because they are Loved for their great service and support!
NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM COMCAST ANYWHERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAST TIME WITH BAD SERVICE, LOST MONEY and ENDLESS FRUSTRATION.
