Comer Paper

Support a local business and check out this place for your next party. My family always shops here for gatherings large and small, and appreciate the friendly service and good assortment. Paper goods, balloons and more. Yes, you’ll pay more than at some discount stores, but those are driving small businesses from our neighborhoods. And for those who gripe about their outside being in need of repair: yes, that’s true, but I imagine that online and dollar stores are cutting into their profits. So help keep and bring back local businesses.

While I agree Comer Paper is a convenient local source for balloons and party supplies. And they have been in the neighborhood for generations. And I’d rather patronize local businesses. But I expect local businesses to care about their neighborhood too. The exterior of Comers hasn’t been touched for 50 years. The window displays are faded and water stained. The sidewalk has grass and weeds growing in the cracks and there’s always litter. I appreciate that’s there’s probably not much profit in paper goods but come on. Other businesses nearby have made real efforts to revitalize that stretch of Germantown Ave it’s about time Comer did something about their eyesore.

way to come through in a pinch! i frantically ran around philly looking for someplace to fill my balloons with helium for my daughters 2^nd birthday. my mom called and they said «sure!» and they are reasonable too. the acme down the street wanted to charge me $ 1/​balloon and they wouldn’t have them ready until tomorrow.
needless to say i will be shopping here for my party supply needs every year! THANKS COMER!

If you’re in Germantown, check out this small but awesome party store. It may not be as big as its giant competitors, but it has a lot more heart. Of course, it has all the basics like paper tableware in every color, balloons, that sort of thing, but then they have more cool stuff, like fun paper cutouts for decorating. Sometimes, they have things you can’t find in other party stores, like one time when I scoured the area for butterfly stuff for a party. This was the only place that had a bunch of butterfly decorations!
I also love the selection of stickers, great for party favors or stocking stuffers. This store also stocks honeycomb paper balls and wedding bells, which are harder and harder to come by for some reason.
