My wife and I went there for the first time last week. We have all our own gear so we just got range time and bought a few targets. The staff were pleasant and professional. We have been to several ranges in the area and have seen some things that were way out of line. Such as a kid shooting for the first time with 5 people surrounding him in the stall and shooting video, dangerous to say the least. Another thing we have run into is staff and shooters harassing women, I’ve even seen a staff member come up behind my wife while she was shooting pressed up against her to «correct her stance». We experienced none of this at DVSC. In fact when leaving we heard a staff member informing a couple that were first time shooters that they would not tolerate the taking of selfless, photos, phone calls, or any type of silliness. This made us very happy to hear. There was a female shooter next to my wife that said she has never been bothered or harassed in all the times she’s been there. I highly recommend DVSC for the range. I also glanced over their cases and there were some good deals on firearms as well. Their prices are good and my wife and I are going to get a couples yearly membership which is at a great discount. You can even find deals on groupon for them.

With all the craziness out on the street now a days, it is better to be safe than sorry. Personally i carry a kal-​tec 380, american version. It is not a hand cannon, nor would i want one, i do not want to kill anyone rather just stop them. Many say i am wrong, dead men tell no tales, but killing someone haunts you, i know, i did. But better him than me.
This range was open for years prior & a lot of philly cops visited here regularly, i believe it has new owners cause they have more inventory than before. Nice people, fair prices decent range. What more can you ask for ?
How to get a permit to carry ??

Came here with friends for my first time shooting. I was prompted to pick this one because of a promotion they were having. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I was a bit nervous, but everyone seemed to be having a good time and it relaxed me. I’m not sure what other gun ranges are like, but this felt like a comfortable environment for me to learn to shoot. It was a lot of fun! The only criticism I have is that it’s very cold! Bring a warm sweater or light jacket!

My dad took me here to shoot off some rounds. It was so much fun. I relieved so much stress. The employees are nice and the prices are reasonable. It’s in a nice location too. I relieved so much stress I actually got pregnant shortly after when I’d been having a hard time. Lol. This place is awesome!!!

Friendly staff. Did discovered the owner Tony to be Prejudice. I seen first hand the owner give a minority customer one price on a new /​unfired trade in yet give his counterpart a much higher trade in price for a similar fired item. Makes you wonder about the type of people your dealing with. With the internet and Social Media and being able to check true values of firearms you think he would know we do have knowledge and resources of values of trade ins. Honesty and consistency means alot in my eyes.
Was a member however, after experiencing the RACISM here. I will take my business elsewhere. Minorities be careful when trading in your firearms here. You may just wanna have it appraised, trade it, or sell it elsewhere.

The good: pre-​sales support
The bad: The customer service is beyond horrible, the range isn’t kept up well at all, and you feel like you always need to watch your back that you’re not getting conned. If you need to deal with them as an FFA *after* they’ve sold you a firearm, forget it. They’re basically like the Comcast of firearms dealers and ranges.
There are other ranges in the area. Don’t waste your time with DVSC.

Got a groupon worth $ 33. It included shooting for two ($ 40 without groupon) + the rifle cost (AR15 $ 30 without groupon). It only did not include the introduction course (mandatory for those who have never shot before) of $ 30 and ammo ($ 10 for 20 bullets). Great experience! Had a lot of fun. The person helping us check-​in and helping us decide which gun etc was really nice and helpful. We got there around 6pm on a Saturday evening and the wait was about 20 – 30 mins which wasn’t too bad.

Awesome place, very friendly staff! Oftentimes folks are rude and arrogant in gun shops, not the case here. Selection was decent. Range is nice, decently sized and plenty of lanes. They charge $ 20 for the whole day instead of by the hour, which can be cool compared to other places. Nice to just relax, shoot a few (or more than a few) guns, and not worry about racking up a huge bill.

We went there yesterday as part of a group on. We will certainly be back again and this is from one experienced shooter and one novice. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was friendly. Only down side was that they were so busy they ran out of 9 mm and we couldn’t shoot anymore. When we left it was absolutely packed full of people.

Came for my brothers bachelor party! Great experience! Shot tons of rounds inexpensive, great selection to shoot. The staff was great and very knowledgeable. Going to stop in soon to purchase a new firearm

Prices are extremely reasonable. I hear horror stories online of what dome people pay. DVSC has spoiled me in that regard.

Since the world is going to hell in a hand basket I mine as well go down in a blaze of glory. Enter DVSC, an inclusive and affordable place to learn. My dad was so kind as to take me and my bestie shooting under his membership. I think memberships run $ 195 a year or $ 10 for a day, and a few options in between. I used my dad’s gun but bought ammo here. Apparently the price was fair at $ 20 a box for 9 millimeter ammo.
The actual gun range was equal parts awesome and terrifying. I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t that. But after the initial fear wore off I found it exhilarating and totally addictive. Like, all I can think about is shooting a gun again. By the way, I’m an incredibly good shot.
When learning how to harness the power of a murder weapon, I can think of no better place or people to facilitate the process.

Friendly informative staff, crash course on gun use for those who have never shot one, reasonable renting fees. Enjoyed this place, may become a member :)

many years ago, i suppose in the mid 90’s, this place was called c&c pistol range and was a complete and total dump. in fact, they had earned the nickname of «cat piss range» bcuz of all the stray cats that they were feeding outside and the putrid smell. well, im glad to say that the establishment is under new ownership now and is nothing like it once was.
although i shot here for a couple years way back when, i hadnt visited this range in over a decade. the main draw for me was the fact that i am able to use my own ammo here as most ranges do not allow that. when i walked in i was greeted by steve and told him i wanted to join. the process was simple and straight forward and steve was super attentive. great customer service all in all.
the store seems to have a very wide selection of firearms and accessories and the staff seemed to be very helpful and knowledgeable. now that im a member i will be there alot more often. i feel comfortable recommending them to anyone who is looking for something other than the normal gun shop cockiness. most gun shops are very intimidating and can make the shopping/​shooting experience very uncomfortable. not the case here.

The best staff by far at any place I’ve been to in a long time. Not sure if it’s just a bunch of genuinely nice guys or the fact that if you step outta line everyone on staff as well as the people who patronize the shop will put you down and then continue on with business as usual. But these guys are the definition of what customer service is. If they ever decide to make this a one stop shop for all my needs I’d probably just move in

Came here once or twice before i became a member. Very helpful and friendly staff. lots of weapons to choose from. If you need a club to shoot, looking for lessons, need repairs. anything… i highly recommend this establishment…

Reviewing the «Delaware Valley Security Center» training group within the Delaware Valley Sports Center.
I attended an Act 235 Lethal Weapons Renewal course on 12/​22/​2014. The course, the course agenda, and instructor Jim Coughlin were great. For those who do not know, Pennsylvania requires those with Act 235 Lethal Weapons certifications to renew every five years. This being my third renewal class and the fact that I have been shooting for over fifteen years, I consider myself quite experienced in firearms, shooting, and the course.
Correspondence with Mr. Coughlin prior to the class was excellent. Emails or phone calls were returned within a short period of time. The Act 235 renewal class began with the firearms portion of the course: handguns and shotguns. Mr. Coughlin ran a professional range and we finished the shooting portion quickly. The classroom portion of the class also was professional administered. The «war» and «one time at _​_​_​» stories typically shared in firearms classes were practically nonexistent. That in itself is a huge plus. Mr. Coughlin didn’t «toot his own horn» and kept the course lecture to the content. The other three Act 235 classes were full of sidebar stories which were boring and also took extra class time. Mr. Coughlin kept the course on track and followed the program outline.
Kudos to Mr. Coughlin and the Delaware Valley Security Center for a great training. This by far was the best Act 235 class I have taken (and I’ve taken this at four other ranges). This might be the best Act 235 in the greater Philadelphia region.
This wouldn’t be a full Unilocal review without talking about the Delaware Valley Sports Center.
— Location: use Mapquest or a GPS and you’ll find the range at the end of an industrial cul-​de-​sac.
— Firearms Store: Firearms, ammo, and accessories are stocked full. I didn’t pay too close to the pricing, but prices seem fair.
— Range: For a forty-​year old firearms range, it appears pretty good. The range is older and could use a good cleaning and some paint. The shooting lanes are well used, but serve their purposes.
— Rental guns: plenty of rental firearms in most calibers and styles.
If you want a place to shoot you your firearm in the Huntingdon Valley area of Philly, then this is a place. Range rates are $ 20 per day (not the minutes or hour, but day). Membership rates seem pretty fair as well. If you want a sparkly clean firearms range, then this might not be for you.
Overall, great place. Staff are super friendly. Training class (I took) was awesome.

This place is hard to find but totally amazing! I’ve been to ranges all over the area and the guys here are, by far, the nicest. Most ranges have his cult feeling inside that discourage new people from coming in. I can respect the 1% mentality because it’s such a niche market, but I’m just saying you won’t get that here. If I had kids and I wanted to teach them the proper physics and safety of firearms, I would take them here before anywhere else.
You’re allowed to bring your own handguns, shotguns and semi auto rifles as long as you shoot them in single fire action. You can also bring your own bullets.
Targets are a dollar and a lane, for the whole day, is $ 20. They also have season passes for individuals and families. Amazing place with amazing employees — makes me proud to still live in the northeast!

This was my first time at a shooting range, so it was fun! It is about $ 20 to shoot, another $ 20 if you have to rent gun, and also a bit more for the price of bullets. You get protective goggles and ear protection. Also the cost of the targets is about $ 1. We spent about an hour there using different targets and trying out the rifle we had with us plus the gun we rented. Every lane was filled on a Saturday afternoon (about 7 total lanes with a few people in each one). Fun weekend activity for a group!

Five star treatment from a five star staff. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Beginners would feel safe and well supervised. Affordable memberships, cool owner, not to mention a great selection of new & used firearms. Ammo is spot on with the likes of Dick’s Sporting Goods. They’re not out to steal into your pocket on ammo, targets, memberships, or firearms. The range is just the kind I like. Fans, heaters, cameras. Check it out. I know I’m glad I did.
