This is a poor excuse for a bagel shop. My favorite bagel lunch is the veggie option– basically bagel with veggie cream cheese and a bunch of veggies. I often have to talk myself out of going to this location though because it is run by people who just straight up do not know or care how to run a restaurant. The lettuce on my bagel one time was slimy and brown and the guy who was working switched my order with another similar one because he literally could not keep two orders in his mind between the time he picked them up from the counter and the time he handed them to us. Also the staff knows nothing about the menu– i.e. what should come on a sandwich or even what flavors of cream cheese they offer. How did you get this job and you can’t learn 8 flavors of cream cheese? The products are not fresh, the staff does not know how to prepare or store food, and the prices are inflated. There are much better places to get lunch near Penn’s campus.

I’ve been a few times, but it’s been a few years. It’s about as good as I remembered. Long lines, slow service, coffee is decent, Bagels are pretty good. I just came in to grab a fruit cup and cup of coffee and it took me 20 minutes. A little ridiculous given the fruit cup is in the open cooler and the coffee is self-serve. It works if it’s the only place open, but there are much better places in the area. So far, the least favorite of my Penn Dining Café experience.
