Embassy Suites Hotel

No compassion! I made a reservation here for my nieces wedding on Febuary 6^th, 10 days ago my husband had a heart attack and is unable to travel. For the past week I have been trying to cancel my reservation and getting a refund. L. Cox has requested proof of the heart attack. Thank you, thank you L. Cox I don’t have enough stress in my life right now.

As a diamond member, me and my wife went to the Franklin Institute for a company party and stayed at the PA Embassy Suite.
Everything was bad… parking was $ 52.00 what a rip off. The lobby looks nothing like
it depicts on the site… loaded with people and confusion everywhere. The room smelled musty and looked like the 1980’s décor. Bathroom was extremely small and out dated. The bedroom bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were tiny. Rug was old. The heater blower was so loud we could not sleep from the humming noise all night. The circular layout of the building was very weird, elevators took FOREVER to wait for. Breakfast was held next door at TGI Fridays which was a disaster. It was crowded beyond belief… no room to breath and crazy confusion
everywhere. Could not wait to leave. Hilton should be ashamed to attach their name to this hotel. They us the side walk in the front as a parking. The so called balcony was 2 feet wide. Terrible experience.
Never again. You were warned!

Sure would be nice if they stopped using the sidewalk as a parking lot

I stood at this hotel between 1÷8−1÷11 and after reading all of these reviews I was a bit sketchy in going after i received this stay as a gift. Well to be honest — it was not bad at all

1. Bed bugs — I searched all over this room, there was not a bed bug insight, mattresses were new and did not wake up with any bites .
2. Parking — it is true that it’s 42+ tax a night for parking but if you go to gateway parking garage it’s 5 $ per day on the weekends, I ubered it back to the hotel for the bare minimum charge they do .
3. Elevators — people seem to complain about the wait– I thought it was about ½ min wait
4. Breakfast — okay this is why it isn’t 5 stars — the food was cold, coffee was out of a neste machine, bagels were cold but what can u expect it’s free. It’s good if ur looking for a omelet or pick up some yogurt. Don’t expect a full course meal
5. Room size — it’s huge literally like a mini apartment, our hotel had a balcony that viewed Logan square. It was more than enough room !
Overall I’d come back next time I come to the city

We had a wonderful stay here, and asked a the desk what the best view would be. We were upgraded to a high floor overlooking the mall. It was beautiful. Full breakfast was good as always and the welcome goodie bag with water and cookie made us feel special. I would definitely stay again. Rooms were clean.

Excellent location, awesome daily and complimentary happy hour and decent price (using Priceline). The room itself was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the living room area and deck were nice. However, the elevator situation upon checkout combined with the nightly $ 52 parking fee is just outrageous. At checkout, we waited an hour for the concierge to bring us a luggage cart before deciding to carry everything ourselves down 22 flights of stairs. The hotel seems to have made some nice upgrades recently, but they really need to update the elevators. Three elevators for a building with this many floors is not enough. Especially when they are all slow. If you are at the elevator when it’s not «rush hour» then it’s not bad. But if there are several people waiting, you should just go for the stairs.
I was really excited about the continental breakfast buffet, but was severely disappointed when we went. There was a lot of choices (pancakes, made to order omelettes, fruit, cereal, bagels, toast, coffee, juice, milk, waffles, sausage, bacon), but the French toast and pancakes were cold. Nothing was great, just ok. The next morning we skipped the free breakfast and opted for something better. Try Sabrina’s on Callowhill Street (it’s walking distance from the hotel) for an amazing brunch!

The location of this hotel is really convenient; you are close to many tourist attractions, especially the love park. The room is spacious; there is a private bedroom with a TV, a small kitchen area with a sink, microwave, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator, there is also a living room with a pull-​out sofa bed, a small table with 4 chairs, and a TV. Our room also had a small balcony, which was a nice addition as you can have a great view of the beautiful city. The bathroom was small but it was clean and everything was in working order. The breakfast was located on the second floor in the T.G.I. Fridays. It was actually better than your regular hotel breakfasts. There is a chef that could make your own personalized omelette. Although it was kind of hectic with many people trying to get food in a compact area of the restaurant.
However, the disadvantages of this hotel are the parking fee was too steep, the elevators were a pain, and as stated above, getting breakfast could be more organized. We paid $ 52 for just a one night parking on top of what was already a pricey stay at this hotel. Checking into the hotel and checking out of the hotel was a pain. Although there were 3 small elevators, people had to fall in line to use them. When checking out, the elevators were stopping at almost every floor with other people trying to use the elevator. Luckily, I was on the 5^th floor, so I opted to use the stairs during most of my stay due to this problem. However, some people may not have that luxury.

Front desk staff unbelievably rude.
We were charged for one movie three different times ($ 62!) and Kettsa at the front desk told me that we deserved to be charged that amount since we started and stopped the movie. We did not watch it three times, just stopped and started. She put me on hold for a total of 20 minutes and was so nasty. It is a shame because the rest of the stay was OK but I would never go back because of the service.

Wonderful concierge. Wonderful room. Wonderful amenities.
We booked a King suite with a city view and our room did not disappoint. We had a great view overlooking Logan Square and City Hall on the 23^rd floor. Our room was impeccable upon check-​in. We were even given free happy hour drink tickets for the two nights we stayed in addition to the free breakfast buffet at the in house TGI Fridays.
My only gripe is that there is no free in-​room WiFi, but not many hotels have that nowadays.
Great location right in Logan Square. Will definitely consider booking again if the need arises!

This Embassy is in a great location at the start of Ben Franklin Parkway so you are within walking distance to all the museums, Rittenhouse Square, Central City, etc. The rooms are huge — large living rooms (mine had a whole wet bar/​sink area) and a balcony. The front desk staff is super nice and are very helpful if you need to store your bags. Valet/​doormen were also efficient and helpful.
Some cons: the elevators take forever and are small. Breakfast is served on the second floor (yes the TGIFridays) and is a bit of a cluster.
Despite these minor annoyances, I’d definitely stay here again since the service and central location are more important to me in my grand scheme of things.

this hotel is one of the worst I’ve ever been to. I planned badly because my friends and I were going on a road trip, and went to an amusement park coming back very late. First, the employees are on the rude side. Second, there is no free wifi. Third, you need to pay $ 50 dollars to park your car in their parking lot on top of $ 250 for a room. I thought that the Embassy suites were nice but I guess I was wrong. Don’t come here if you are looking for an affordable nice room (with free wifi) but feel free if you want to waste your money.
PS elevators are REALLY slow

Great location and overall friendly staff. The staff at the front desk are always friendly and helpful to assist. There are easily other hotels around with nicer and more modern rooms. In all the Embassy Suites I’ve been to it’s definitely one that needs a make over. But with that aside the rooms are very large, your own bedroom is great to keep sound out and on higher floors you typically have a good view down or around the parkway with your own balcony. The managers reception in the evening is nice for free drinks and snacks. I do wonder sometimes how much the bar staff want to be there. Free breakfast in the morning is also decent for what it is but it’s your typical hotel hot breakfast buffet. There is wifi but can be hit or miss and even purchasing the fastest speed, you’re not getting much more than 4−5megs download if you’re lucky. All in all with what they offer its worth the stay and rates aren’t bad.

I don’t know what this place was originally, but it certainly was not a Embassy Suites. They have three elevators and when they are all working, the wait times aren’t bad. When one is turned off like it was Sunday morning at check out time, it took forever to get a elevator.
Our first room, the air conditioner was not working. We called and they sent someone very quickly. They worked on it and said it was fixed. It wasn’t. It was a cool night, so we opened the sliding glass door and turned on the fan. The next morning, we called them again and then they moved us to a different room. This room had its own set of problems. Something someplace was leaking and the carpet was wet outside the bathroom. Rather than move a third time, we just decided to wear our shoes inside the room to keep from getting our feet wet.
Breakfast was downstairs in the Friday’s restaurant. Evening manager’s reception was on the first floor. The usual dry snacks and potato chips. Drinks were nicely done. The bartenders took the extra time to try to add some flourishes and to make the drinks seem special.
It is a small thing, and I realize it is the bartenders license on the line, but they got a bit over zealous in checking my son’s ID. Admittedly he looks younger than his age, but he freely offered up his ID. The lady bartender looked at it and started mixing his drink, then the man wanted to see it too. Each time he went back, they would want to look at it again. Maybe they just had short memories, but eventually the man told him he was «drinking too much.» after three drinks and would not serve him any more. He was with me and his mother. Geesh. Oh well, its part of the cost he has to pay for looking so darn young. He will be happy for that when he hits my age!
Oh, yeah – NO POOL or HOT TUB.

Overall, our stay at the Embassy Suites was a great stay. We were greeted by a friendly bellhop who took our bags in for us, and the front desk people were very friendly and welcoming. This was my first trip to Philadelphia and I was excited to see how it went.
Pros: you get vouchers for breakfast, great help from the staff, spacious rooms and tons of nice linens that made us feel at home.
Cons: no wifi from what I could tell, I had to call twice for a maid as we missed them cleaning our room and had the DND sign on, and the elevators are painfully slow.
Definitely come prepared to wait a while for morning check-​out. Seems they were understaffed as we checked out.
Overall, this is a great hotel and will be our go-​to the next time we are in Philadelphia.

I would’ve given this hotel a 3.5 star. The elevators were KILLING me. Granted it was St. Patty’s day weekend, but I do see that I wasn’t the first person to say this, so there you go, they are SLOOOWWWW!!!
the hotel gave us wrist bands to make sure they knew we were staying for the parade and to separate us from the crowd coming to the city.
The best part was the staff, they held my bags (NO questions asked) while I went to Fridays HH. I had food and drinks waited for my party to come and check in. I also enjoyed that Friday’s was connected to the hotel (HH was great). We then went back for more HH in the evening. Free breakfast at Fridays for us staying at the hotel, which was really cool.
The hotel is VERY convenient and if you’re worried about the hotel being to far from anything DONT BE. Its prime and walking distance to everything. Oh yeah and DON“T forget the WAWA has everything and its behind the hotel: ice cream bars (read below), soda, drinks, Aleve, band aids, and much more.
The hotel offers HOTT HUGE breakfast in the wee hours of the morning, that we didn’t make any of the mornings, but we did end up making it to HH every night (OK so we like to drink: NO judge US). The snacks were always different each night, which was cool. They also made fun drinks for St. Patty’s Day.
ICE CREAM BARS: My favorite part was when we went downstairs and got two snickers (ice cream): $ 8.00 total. UMMMM excuse me this isn’t soft serve with sprinkles is it?
Oh wait… they might do a trick. Hell no. I only had 5.00 and that is all we are paying. Charge the rest to my room, that is insane. :) We then made friends and made everyone coming into the little convenient store walk to WAWA and get some exercise. In the end everyone was happy.
Overall our experience with the bathroom wasn’t that bad, but if you got this far you would understand that we had a lot of issues. We asked for them to fix our shower head twice because it kept falling down. We can’t take a shower when the head is all the way to our knees. Then we found out it was being held with a little piece of cardboard. We also had issues with the flooded bathtub. The water wasn’t draining after the second visit he did fix this.
I will say NO bed bugs. I looked VERY intensively to ensure we didn’t have any. After a month I will say we didn’t take any home either!!! No bugs or roaches either.
We stayed March 20^th weekend of 2015.

Great location in the Museum District/​Downtown Philly area.
They don’t have parking, but if you want you can pay around $ 40 A DAY (!!!) for valet, ridiculous. We had to drive around for a little to find a parking garage.
The front desk staff is friendly, as they should be, they’re in the business of hospitality after all. They have a daily HH from 530−730pm in the lobby with some bar snacks. The rooms come with complimentary breakfast at the TGIF that’s attached to the hotel. Unfortunately we didn’t try that out.
We had a suite, with a city view. The room was huge! But other than that, the air conditioning came on (I’m pretty sure) in the middle of the night, so the bedroom was freezing and luckily we had a suite, so we moved to the living room and slept on the pull out couch. Housekeeping never came, I had to call for them to come up and even then it took them hours to finally get to our room and by that time we didn’t want to be bothered. And the elevators are a whole other issue. Seriously, you will be waiting for ages. If you are staying on floors 4 or below, I suggest taking the stairs. Actually, just take the stairs period. We were on the 15^th floor and taking the stairs was faster. Seriously.

The pros:
— Very spacious rooms
— Awesome wet bar with lots of counter space, fridge, and microwave
— Free manager’s reception in the evenings with alcohol and snacks in the lobby
— Free breakfast!
The cons:
— The elevators are SO SO SLOW. This is a problem that I’ve had in numerous Embassy Suites so I can’t really blame this one too much
— There is no free wifi, but they do have free AT&T wifi, which was helpful for me but not so much for my fiancé.
— Parking is $ 50 :(
Overall this is a great hotel to stay at because of its proximity to numerous tourist spots in Philly and there is a great restaurant across the street (City Tap House). There is also a Wawa and liquor store within walking distance.

AWESOME! Stayed here this weekend for a bachelorette party.
Room
Was afraid there wasn’t enough room but we were pleasantly surprised at how huge the room was!!! We had 7 girls sleep on Saturday night and we were all comfortable! I cannot say better things about it. Nice and clean! Kitchen area was great! We were on the 17^th floor and the view was amazing. Balconies on every room was also another plus for us!

We loved this! It gets congested around 9 – 10 but we had no problem getting a seat and if you do. Just pile food on a tray and take it to your room!

There are only 3 for the hotel however the longest we may have waited was probably 5 mins it was not as awful as the other reviewers stated
Parking
Valet parking was expensive at 45 dollars however it was def worth it, I knew my car was safe and it was nice to not have to walk and load our own luggage
Overall had an awesome experience here will defiantly look to stay an Embassy Suite again!

Once again, my wife and I Pricelined the hotel for our weekend trip to Philly. I have never, I repeat never, had a bad experience when I’ve done so. So this is a first.
My first impression was very good. The bell staff was courteous and fast. At first the front desk experience was going well too, but then the computer crashed. A foreboding feeling came over me.
I first noticed problems when we got out of the elevator, as the hall was dim and dingy. The room wasn’t much better. The outside room needed some attention, as it had that same dingy appearance and one could see the wallpaper separating at its seams. The bedroom was much too small for two double beds. The air-​conditioning sounded like a jet engine. Finally, the pillows had so little stuffing that my head went right through two of them.
Room service was another disaster. It comes from the attached TGI Friday’s, and you get the usual Friday’s quality food. In other words, no quality. The mozzarella sticks were indeed good. However, the potato skins seemed to be frozen, fried, microwaved, fried again, then allowed to cool. In other words, they were discussing. The Tuscan spinach dip was fine, though for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what made it Tuscan.
The breakfast the next morning was pretty bad too. I could have seen it coming since the breakfast was at, you guessed it, the attached TGI Friday’s. I imagine that if they prepare their regular menu badly, I shouldn’t expect anything from a meal that they don’t usually make.
Luckily, there were no major disasters before we left, so they get two stars.
