I’m not a regular, but it’s certainly my go to dive in the area. All the food I’ve tried has been great, definitely superior to your typical bar fare. The employees and general clientele are always very friendly. It’s a very pleasant bar experience overall. Also, they’re always playing good music at this establishment. No dealing with that juke box BS.

stopped in for a midmorning bloody mary-friendly bartender. Decent drink at $ 4. An old neighborhood bar that is now trendier hipster bar. Didn’t eat anything but they do serve food.

It smelled like man-sweat in here. But also, an Eagles game was on and there was a herd of devoted, likely sweaty fans screaming at the TV as if yelling at the top of their lungs would help their team suck less. So maybe it doesn’t always smell so putrid? This is a typical dive — bar up front, seats around/in back. A stream of light came in through the open door, so that was a nice plus. Decent taps. I tried their North Coast on cask and that was okay. Not life-changing, but not a water beer, either. They had a limited food menu on their board behind the bar. It included chicken salad. FYI.

This tiny little dive bar is a cool spot to get a beer and food. The tap list is decent, and they got a nice selection of can beers. The place surprised me with the good food they had. I ordered spicy Mac n cheese with lobster, and it was delicious! The back room is kinda tiny though, and it can get a bit snug back there. Still, this is an awesome dive bar in No. Libs!

Their hot dogs with house made relish are the truth. At first bite my long-forgotten white trash side came rumbling back in a 1991 Ford F-150. I was caught up in the moment. Beer, dogs, America is that you? I sat quietly at the end of the bar, mouth full of ballpark, gleaming.

Awesome local bar. I love the outdoor seating. The bar tenders are also all always really friendly which is nice and a change of pace from other bars in the city. The bar drawls a nice friendly crowd.

Perfect slightly dive-ish bar. Went on a Saturday night, and it was lively but not overcrowded. The DJ was playing a nice mix, not your typical top 40 party club music, but stuff with more of a classic, funky groove. And the lobster grilled cheese is the perfect bar food to satisfy your late night cravings(at least tides you over until you get a roast pork sandwich at the food truck after you leave)…

If you’re looking for a decent beer and a bite on a Saturday night, this place is your hang. I wouldn’t consider it as a place to «go out to dinner» but more of a place when you’re looking for a bar to go to and you’re also hungry. Last night I had a glass of Allahash White and the Lobster grilled cheese(HOLYYUM). My friends got the meatball sandwich and said that it was awesome as well. The appetizer we got was an Italian mix with prosciutto, mozzarella, olives and tomatoes and that was a classy little surprise for having come in a plastic bar basket! The only thing that’s difficult is going out with a big party because the tables are very small. Not a deal breaker, but go with people you don’t mind getting snug with ;-)

Fun local dive. No frills, good prices. Usually open all the time, even on holidays… they were open on Christmas. My cousin and I had some Christmas fun there after the obligatory family party. I haven’t tried the food but it always smells good. Sometimes there’s a DJ in the very back. This review isn’t very original but if you’re in the neighborhood check out Fishtown Tavern on your bar crawl.

Fishtown tavern is a great bar. The bartenders are really nice and the beer is inexpensive. The patrons are friendly. What more could you ask for? They also sell Fishtown Tavern t-shirts, which happen to be the most comfortable shirts I own.

My buddy lives across the street, took us here for a quick brew. Inside, it is about what you expect. Sorta divey, bunch of canned beer options, friendly bartender. I’ve only been here once but I can see why my friend goes here frequently. Cheap drinks, good vibe, you don’t have to act like you are important to be here, nothing fancy. This place is the epitome of a «local bar» that should stay local and hopefully won’t convert to appealing to people in the suburbs looking for trendy-establishments to boast about visiting to their Facebook friends.

Fishtown Tavern: Typical dive bar here, nothing too crazy. Moderately priced drinks. A vodka sprite and draft beer ran $ 11. It started to get pretty packed in there as the evening wore on and the bar went from chill lounge atmosphere to typical standing room only bar. The bar was very hipster and played an eclectic mix of alternative and rock from the most stereotypical«rocker» DJ I could imagine– long hair, beard, pony tail. This certainly isn’t my scene, I’m more into EDM but it has the recipe of a nice chill hipster. On the downside is the bathrooms. The sink is so small I can fit only one hand in it at a time. They were also kind of disgusting. Pee everywhere, paper towels on floor, ewww.

Excellent place to sit and hang out with friends. I enjoy going there because you can actually hear one another talk. It’s rarely packed and the service is always excellent. The good is pretty good too!

So many great dive bars are located in areas I frequent but I’ve never given them a chance. It was a last minute decision to come here Friday night and i had a great time. The Tavern is very chill, dim lights, and the DJ was playing a few good songs. I wanted to make a request but he didn’t have any Hendrix records. The five stars goes to Marty the bartender, he was patient and kind enough to walk me through the beer and whiskey choices. I asked so many questions that he had to walk away to help other customers. Sorry. But he did it with a smile and I was content with my choice(Evolution Summer Ale). I would like to suggest a citywide special… Either way its comfortable and the Fishtown locals are friendly.

Sick of the weekend warrior crowds at Johnny Brenda’s a block away? Look no further than the Fishtown Tavern. A little divier than the aforementioned spot, but the red glow from inside drew me inside anyway. This is a cool place. Great décor(sans the glow of the refrigerator by the bar), good music, and… decent food.(While I haven’t eaten here in a while, it does appear they stepped up the menu a bit so I’ll need to give it another try.) This is a great option in the Fishtown neighborhood for a cold beer when you really want to avoid the Frankford Hall crowd. I don’t think they’d step foot inside here.

Really enjoy the atmosphere here. It’s never overcrowded and the patrons are chilled out and not obnoxious. The alcohol content in mixed drinks was steadily increased throughout the night so everyone was happy! ;) The food is actually pretty damn good for being the small weird place that it is. The lobster grilled cheese does not disappoint. Maybe slightly pricey. I thought the staff was friendly. They are pretty chilled out and there isn’t really a table service, but with the type of establishment this is I actually prefer it. I’ll be back.
