Cool novelty items and a good selection. I absolutely love their nail polishes over any more expensive brands. They last long and don’t chip after a days worth of texting. There’s always a clearance section over by the cards that I check religiously.

Ahhhhh!!! This place is INCREDIBLE for cheap Halloween costume accessories and other knick-knacks that you didn’t know you needed. I’m being a fairy for halloween because I love wearing wings. I visited Ricky’s at 15th& Walnut and Masquerade on Columbus Boulevard, but all I could find were $ 60 «sexy fairy in a bag» costumes. I’m not so much into dressing like a street walker, and I don’t want to pay that much for a flammable outfit. I want cheap, sparkly plastic jewerly, glittery eyeshadow, and purple tights. I want hot purple nail polish, studs for bedazzaling, and a wand with streamers at the end. I found all of this, plus extra embellishments(a lei, and a small boa) and scooped it up sans guilt because everything is under $ 5. At these prices, I also picked up some childhood faves(i.e. the plastic«pills» you drop in water and watch expand into animal-shaped sponges, big league chew) just for the heck of it. For Halloween(and other holidays, I’m sure), this place is a GOLDMINE.

OK, so instead of a dollar store — we now have a fiver store. 5 below sells lots of cheap crap — some of it useful and seasonal — like we got a booogie board for our 5 year old here, and some silly bandz. Now that she’s 8 she can buy her nail polish and bath & body colorful items here. My kids loves it here. The CEO used to run Zany Brainy and went to Friends Select.(He’s a smart guy!) I am not a huge fan of cheap crap — but hey — if it keeps her happy — so be it. Oh — and you can get Good Humor and other ice cream treats for 1 – 2 dollars in the front freezer(cheaper than most Wawa’s and far cheaper than the rip-off ice cream truck at the beach.)

If you like Five Below, this is a much more relaxed and larger store than in the gallery. There are tons of games, toys, and many things that kids would love, and all $ 5 or less. Their make-up and beauty section wasn’t too great, however(wet and wild going for more than regular prices), but they have a great Halloween Section going on. I was just browsing and got a snapple for a buck — cool!
