Very pleasant place with great ambiance and superb service. Highly impressive dishes. Worthy of a Michelin star. Best venison tartar I’ve ever had. Exellent raw seafood dishes. I had a few different ones. I liked it so much that I came back next day for brunch.

This is by far the most complex meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. As a hardcore foodie, seeking out a city’s best food scene is what I love and«Fork» hit the mark. So complex, so thoughtful, just WTF awesome dishes I can’t say enough good things! Fork also has THEBESTWAITSERVICE… Anywhere, ever, period! Just amazing service start to finish!

Great ambiance, prompt and friendly surface and amazing food. We were delighted with every dish from start to finish. We started with the smoked trout caviar with everything bagel crisps and dill pickled cucumber. Really good. Then we had the burrata with the hibiscus consommé that was other-worldly. The oil poached cod was delicious and understated on a bed of greens with a delicious dashi. The house-made fettuccine with clams and chili was also super tasty and perfectly al dente. The pork loin and belly were perfectly prepared with asparagus, tarragon and morels. The vegetables were cooked just right. And we finished with the deconstructed cheese cake with crumbles, strawberries, a strawberry compote and cream cheese ice cream. Absolutely divine.

What a different menu with fresh options all the way around. Asparagus gazpacho was delicious and refreshing with tons of flavor. Light oysters with pickled fruit were good as well. My wife would like to come to Fork every night.

Went to Fork for a business dinner with party of five. It seemed to be impressive going in. Waiter seemed very informed. Drinkers got their drinks just fine. They really push the house menu, which is a $ 78 tasting menu, and one person can’t get it unless the entire table does, We weren’t interested in eating that much food, so we ordered a la carte. The salad and burratta appetizers were okay, the trout roe was amazing, the bread was really amazing. However, dinner«mains» were another story. The deconstructed cheese-heavy lasagna was really great. the chicken was undercooked(yuck), the smoked cod was mushy, underdone and on the cool side, and the $ 26 cauliflower steak was tasty but not much to write home about(both diners who got this said so and I tasted it). With this price point($ 425 for two rounds of drinks, 3 appetizers and one dessert), it should have been much better. I am sad we ate here.

Not going to write a long review but Fork dazzled for our 34th anniversary dinner. Thanks to Open Table they knew it was a special event and complimentary champagne greeted us. A wonderfully prepared drink for my wife just based on telling the ingredients, let us know we were in good hands. The menu is not deep but Wolf(our wonderful and knowledgeable server) walked us through a wide expanse of Fork’s culinary language. The trout caviar was as good as advertised and the barrata a specialty item we have not seen and superb in taste. The pica(a thicker pasta strand) layered into fresh calamari and smaller seafood pieces was also a delight. A special side of snap peas, cold, fresh and drizzled in oil with a light cream side was an unexpected treat. A chicken breast, moist and covered in a a nutty barley topping was perfect and my pork loin, pork belly entrée was also superb. Not cheap but the quality of food, service, and atmosphere makes Fork a perfect dining experience.

Have visited Fork twice now, both for special occasions. It is expensive, but wow is the food delicious and the waitstaff are extremely friendly and attentive. This past time my girlfriend and I had the oysters, rhubarb consommé, burrata, «lasagna», and branzino. Everything was amazing, particularly the deconstructed lasagna. My only complaint would be that the rhubarb consommé is more like a fresh juice poured into a shallow bowl and priced at $ 18. I’m thinking I will try one of their constantly changing Wednesday dinners next time!

Fork is one of the best restaurants in Philly for a reason. I went on a Wednesday night looking for a light dinner, and ended up ordering the house menu because everything sounded so delicious. I was not disappointed! First course– New Jersey Burrata. Beautiful presentation coupled with complex flavors… a total winner. The nasturtium sauce added not only color but flavor, and the flower was a nice touch! Second course– genzano pappardelle. I don’t normally like duck. But the duck confit in this dish made me change my mind. I wish I could have ordered seconds of this dish! Third course– branzino. Perfectly cooked, seasoning was on point. If you want to order fish as your protein, try this! Desert-chocolate maple. After the previous three courses, I had no room left for desert. But I found some after taking one bite. SOGOOD. For two house menus + drinks the total came to about $ 300. Not an every day meal, but certainly for a special occasion its totally worth it!

I was in Philadelphia last night for a conference and met a friend for dinner at Fork. We had an outstanding meal. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was attentive, but not overbearing. We started out with cocktails. I cannot remember the name of my cocktail, but, as I recall, it had bourbon, sweet vermouth, and campari, and was delicious. The waiter then brought us homemade pretzel bread with cream cheese that was outstanding(as were the other breads we ate). For appetizers, we shared the venison tartare and smoked trout caviar — fantastic! I have had lots of fish eggs in my day, but never trout caviar. I really don’t know why more restaurants don’t serve them. The texture and taste were memorable. For entrees, I had the black and white pici with«fruits of the sea» and my friend had the genzano pappardelle with duck confit — both were fabulous; indeed, the pici may be one of the best pastas I have had(and I’ve had plenty). For dessert, we shared the carrot cake with sour cream ice cream and a berry concoction with malt ice cream. Both were amazing. Some of the reviews I have read have complained that the food was a pricey, but I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, we did not order a bottle of wine, but I have paid a lot more for food in many places that wasn’t nearly as good. All in all, I was very impressed, and will certainly try to eat there again the next time I am in Philadelphia.

I went to this restaurant during Valentines Day weekend. I love the atmosphere and the food was good. I liked the food much better than my meat and potatoes kind of guy of a boyfriend. If you’re looking for out of the box fare this is the place for you, if you want something more adventurous; skip it. Needless to say next time I come back to Fork he won’t be joining me. But I’ll be back…

So an article said that this restaurant is one of the best restaurant in Philadelphia. The article was not lying! From doing an RSVP and follow up calls from the place this place is amazing! It was a really cold night! A guy greeted us and took our coats(the usual for these type of places), the place was not as packed so they gave us a few choices on where to seat! Our server was great! From greeting us to giving our information about the restaurant, it was a late dinner so we did the House Menu instead of the Chef tasting. Let me tell you, they will give you random surprises such as appetizer that you didn’t order, 2 types of bread, something to chew on while waiting. Everything we ate was perfect! from the octopus to the pici… Definitely coming back again! I’ll make sure to reserve the Valentines day 3 weeks in advance! Great customer service, great ambiance, great food! What more could you ask for?

FIRSTIMPRESSION This review covers the two times I’ve been here with my SO. The last time we were here was in June 2015. This is a fine-dining establishment with beautiful décor and superb service. It has a very open, yet romantic feel and is always buzzing with good spirits. FOOD Amuse bouche(bread, cheese pretzel, fruit roll-up) — Anything that they’ve ever served as an amuse bouche has been fun, inventive, and most importantly delicious. Grilled sweetbreads — One of the best presentation of sweetbreads I’ve come across. The preparation is light and brings out the natural, beautiful, and earthy flavor of the sweetbreads out. Spruce smoked yellow beets with poached oysters — Oh so wonderful! I did not realize that I liked beets and poached oysters so much. And I didn’t realize that they went so well together! Beautiful presentation and lovely marriage of two delicate tastes. Duck feast — First time we came here, we missed out on the duck feast. Here’s a tip: Call, make an early reservation, and request the duck! They took our cc number and saved a duck for us! I think they only serve two a night and it was SO worth it. When the duck was finished cooking, they actually brought it out to us whole and then took it back to make it in four different ways. There was a salad with duck prosciutto and duck hearts, duck confit, big duck meat and duck liver meatballs, and a beautiful duck breast. All of them were so delicious. I almost always order duck on any menu if it’s available and this is by far some of the best I’ve ever had! SERVICE The first time we were here, we had to wait a bit longer past our reservation time and to make up for it, they seated us with complimentary champagne. The second time we came, some of the staff actually remembered us and pointed out where we sat before. I’m sure this was helped by OpenTable histories, but it was a nice gesture for the staff to give us a «welcome back!» Our waiters have always been very attentive, clearing plates promptly and serving our wine just as appropriately. INCONCLUSION We will always make sure to make get a reservation every single time that we’re in Philly!

Enjoyed an early New Years dinner with my family. We decided to blow the budget with the 4 course chef’s tasting menu — and was glad we did. Simply, one of the best meals out we have had. Each dish had unique and varied flavored — and the surprise variety of amuse bouche that come between the courses only add to the dining experience. The portion sizes aren’t «American» portions(as our waiter explained), but we left the restaurant satisfied. Service was excellent, with our water glasses never reaching empty. A great way to end the year!

I went here with a party of 4 back in September, and it was decidedly«meh». I chose to give 2 stars because I thought it was an atrociously bad value albeit the food itself is worthy of 3 stars. Everything on the menu tastes confusing. There was not a single menu item that I had that didn’t make me scratch my head. This is not to say that experimental food is bad, but THIS experimental food is not practiced frequently for a reason. While it was clear that the food was of good quality and prepared very well, there was always a flavor or a texture that did not compliment and actually took away from the rest of the dish. I was very excited for the scallop crudo with fermented parsley that texturally fell very flat and had a bizarre mouthfeel. The papardelle seemed to clash between light fennel and pollen flavors and heavy pork ragu in a way that resembled orange juice and brushing your teeth more than a prosciutto and melon. While I did not have the«lasagna» myself, two members of my party who did order it were dismayed that when it came out it did not resemble anything close to a lasagna, and they seemed very peeved that the wait staff did not tell them what they could expect before the order came out. I lastly had the branzino«en croute» that was actually tasty, but the«en croute» portion had an undercooked feel that detracted from the nice filet. Overall, the food itself is very«interesting.» If you’re very into experimental food I would say it is worthy of 3 stars, but for traditional diners there are many other establishments I’d rather dine in. Additionally it is a bad value.

Fork has aged like a fine wine — it is unique in its boundless creativity of flavor and liveliness of presentation, which has been refined to perfection over the years. We ordered the fixed-price menu(one raw/appetizer, one pasta, one entrée, and one dessert), which at ~$ 75 is comparable in price to other Philly fine dining establishments. The menu has a definite Asian influence, freshening traditional European flavors. Everything, of course, was delicious — standouts for us included the incredibly rich and tender duck breast served with steel-cut oats cooked in duck fat, the«vitello tonnato» with its lively, artistic arrangement of pea shoots, and grilled sweetbreads(so wonderful to see a sweetbread that is not heavily breaded and fried!). With the opening of High Street on Market, Fork has taken the bread game to the next level — one of the highlights of the meal was the constant supply of exciting and delicious breads, from black seaweed bread(made to look like a sea sponge!) to decadent beef broth-infused brioche. With the amuse bouches, the copious amount of addictive bread, and the smaller-portioned but flavor-rich dishes, we left quite full. The service was impeccable — our waiter was friendly and helpful, recommending delicious cocktails to replace our now-defunct favorite(bring back the tea-infused cocktail — it was so good!), and service was prompt. We had a lot of questions about the dessert selection(namely their very abstract descriptions), which our waiter answered with good humor. The atmosphere was convivial without being too loud, with families, business groups, and couples all seemingly in happy coexistence.(Added plus — a whole hallway of bathrooms instead of the standard two stalls.) All in all, one of the best fine dining experiences to be found in Philadelphia.

Not really sure why Fork only has 3.5 stars. My friend and I were in Philly for the first time and someone told us we HAD to try Fork. Luckily for us, it was a 3-minute walk from where we were staying. Obviously you need to get a reservation. We did not, and ended up being seated at the bar at 10:15pm for our Saturday dinner. That sounds bad but they actually set us up with a tablecloth and beautiful place settings. We got to sit next to each other which was super nice and we got to talk to the different bartenders about their hometown of Philly. We ordered the $ 3.75 oysters and though small, they were extremely tasty. We each got a cocktail and they were both good. I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with their cocktail menu. We ordered a variety of dishes but I think the pasta with seafood stole the show. It had a TON of seafood in it, they’re not screwing around. I’m talking multiple kinds of fish, scallops, shrimp, mussels, etc. I especially enjoyed the lighting and decorations. This was fun — while I was walking to the bathroom the numerous staff people basically jumped out of my way, going on and on about«excuse me, Miss!» They had obviously been trained well. They did the same to my friend. I see mixed reviews below, but if you’re in Philly and looking for a nice little dinner at one of the city’s best spots, I’d call Fork and get yourself on their list. This was a birthday dinner for the books.

I came here on a Monday evening for a business dinner. Fork was not my first choice but since the City Tavern was not available we decided to try this restaurant since it was around the corner. My guest who was from out of town was set on a chicken or steak dinner and was not a fan of seafood so the menu here appealed to her. We started with a glass of wine each. The waiter was very accommodating in terms of fulfilling my guest’s wine desires. He brought over about three bottles of wine before my guest was happy with the selection. And there were two different types of bread that were served pre-entrée. Now, before I continue I should clarify that Fork is more of a tasting menu kind of place where you should get several dishes to try per person. However, at a price of $ 38 per entrée I really did not expect that to be the case but I guess I did not expect to come here or I would have done my homework! The waiter also did not inform us of the smaller portions that are served. I ordered the duck breast with smoked oats which was a really nice flavorful and innovative dish. I’ve never had oats on a main before which was interesting. However, the duck portion was smaller than the size of my palm! I was still hungry afterwards I took my guest to franklin fountain and ordered a large milkshake. The check came up to about $ 135 for two entrees and two wines. Overall I thought the service was good but the food although innovative was not really outstanding enough to justify the price and portions.

After watched the show at Arden, me and my hubby grabbed dinner at Fork. We had so so experiences at High street on Market so hesitated a bit but we gave a shot after read positive reviews. It had welcoming and beautiful ambiance and services were professional. Overall I enjoyed my meal but husband wasn’t very impressed. I guess restaurant really can’t satisfy everyone. I am a girl who hates leaving restaurant hungry so amuse bouche and several house treat platters made me very happy. We had 4 course tasting menu and they served different treats after each course. Sweet bread starter and shrimp raw platter were delicious start. They were not super small portion. For pasta course, we had gnudi pasta and ravioli. Gnudi pasta was delicious since I am big fan of cheese but it could be too rich for others who doesn’t enjoy rich cheese. I thought ravioli was lack of flavor. But again, I am rich, creamy pasta girl. For main, we got duck breast and pork. Hubby ordered pork but he didn’t like it much so we ended up switching the plate. I thought pork was ok. But not blown away. Oddly side dishes for both main courses were pickled vegetable. Since I got pickled veggie for my sweet bread starter, it was too much pickle for 4 courses dinner. Dessert, hubby got Black Forest cake(it’s more like mousse) and I got cheese plate. Cheese selection was good. I enjoyed mine. Hubby didn’t like his mousse so I ended up finishing his. It was rich but too bitter for me. Overall I left restaurant full and happy, I would go back if I am near for sure.

A Food and Wine’s best new chefs of 2014; a top pick by Philadelphia Magazine’s 2015, among so many other rewards!!! Having a good meal didn’t surprise me, I expected Fork to be up a notch compared to other american fare. What I didn’t know was that I would have another over-the-top dining experience. Service was outstanding and my waiter, Adrien, was very knowledgeable about the menu, and and very pleasant during my meal. Fork décor is very sophisticated, thanks to the ever-so-classy yet cosmopolitan ambiance. Perfect stylish spot for a romantic date; I liked the paper chandeliers, and the hand painted murals, and I totally appreciated the music. I opted for the house tasting menu for $ 75, since the the chef’s tasting menu was not available on Sundays. I started my meal with an amazingly tasty way: — Fermented fruit roll-up leather, made of radish with a spicy kick. — A taste of celery soda, surprisingly, it didn’t taste bad at all. — Tuna tartare. Amuses bouche board: — Red Onion Bialys with house-made Philadelphia cream cheese. The bagel was a bit salty for my liking, but the cream cheese was perfect. — Little neck clam madeleine. — Philadelphia pretzel nugget in mustard and cheese whiz. — From the raw bar: Shrimp Carpaccio? Sure! It did have a fishy smell, but it wasn’t overpowering, and it actually tasted good. — From the mid course pasta: Creamy chickpea postage stamps ravioli, accompanied with crusty Italian bread. DEL.ICIO.US! Followed by an artisan bread board: — Anadama bread made with cracked corn and molasses, paired with carrot butter. — Sesame tahini bread, paired with smoked beet butter. — Squid-ink dyed sponge bread, paired with seaweed rolled butter. It wasn’t my favorite bite. — From the entrée: The Grilled Lobster Tail, and a lobster claw salad. Very beautiful and tasty. — Another treat was the goat cheese cracker, but I wasn’t a big fan of it. — From the dessert: Strawberry dessert which was great. Seriously, all who appreciate delicious food, artistic presentation, and top notch service(Like-minded Unilocalers;) Fork is guaranteed-to-please kind of a place. Five Unilocal

When a co-worker from our Corporate offices stopped by and recommended we go to dinner, I searched for a solid destination. I’d never been to Fork, but had it bookmarked and saw a great opportunity to test it with a friend. Fork did not disappoint! We both opted for the House Tasting Menu. You select an app, pasta, main, then dessert for $ 75. This option also gets you«a few treats» that might otherwise only be seen in the $ 110 regional tasting. I initially wrote off those«treats» thinking they wouldn’t be all that special. I was wrong, they were awesome! I’ll avoid attempting to describe them in detail and refer you to the pictures. For my meal, I began with«VITELLOTONNATO», moved to the BLACK&WHITEPICI, then COLORADOLAMB, and finished with the CIDERCARAMELCUSTARD. The vitello is a raw dish, with a generous serving of veal and solid pieces of yellowfin tuna. The tonnato sauce could be a bit much at times, but I still loved the dish. For the black & white, I was expecting full black and full white pasta mixed, but loved how each piece was half black and half white. The fruits of the sea include muscles, lobster, and squid. I loved this dish. Finally, the lamb came out perfectly cooked(medium raw) with large cuts of meat and the chops on the side. While they gave you a steak knife, you really didn’t need it to slice. I can see why the lamb is so highly rated and recommended. I barely had room for dessert thanks to the treats and my orders, yet I managed to take down the custard. It was a slight letdown, but I was stuffed! My coworker raved about his selections(oysters, ravioli, and branzino). I’ll let him write his own review! Overall, yes can I have some more!

Was great. Food was elevated. Drinks were refreshing… Great choice. The place looks great on the inside too. I recommend for those going to make a reservation as it was packed. My group and I made reservations. Like many places they won’t seat until your entire group was there. I thought it was delicious. Just being a big boy, wish there was some more food on the plate for the price but at the same time, I get the classy and elevation of the food aspect. Solid place to grub out at.
