When i was admitted after a work accident, I wanted to go to my own hospital where my medical records were and the doctors know me from various issues I deal with. In the er I was stabilized within 30 minutes and insisted I stay for 24 hours. When I asked to see the attending physican he said could create a Against Medical Advise form. I asked several questions, is my heart rate stable? (yes), Is my pulse oxygen within acceptable ranges? (yes), Do i sound cognitive? (yes), Then you have no medical reason to hold me against my will and I will call the police to enforce the law. They drew up a simple transfer form to allow me to transport myself to own hospital. Plus with my aforementioned issues they didn’t have the staff that was capable of treating me. In my opinion they just wanted to milk the insurance for as much possible.

Horrible absolute horrible. Was there sept 2013 and nov 2013 due to liver problems had dr velagapdudi both times. Horrible bed side manner could not speak without being interrupted by her asked to be transferred to liver hospital but denied. Released nov 22 back in hospital 10 days later but not this hospital. Needed liver transplant got to Einstein Jan 2014 remained there 10 weeks. Released and finally transplanted Jan 9 2015 and am recovering successfully.

I go to this hospital frequently. The Docs and their staff have been very good, usually efficient. If I were rating just that, it would get 4 stars. Aaronson and Coll get five plus stars!
However, the lab gets a one star. Not very efficient, not friendly and long wait with little or no communication from the cold receptionist.

Great hospital! My entire family has received care here and it is top notch. If you’re a patient, you’re given a restaurant style menu from which to order. I can’t say enough good about the staff from the doctors and nurses, to the housekeepers. This is a great hospital! My entire family, including myself have been patients here.

I hold this hospital in very high regard, especially the cardiac department. My dad had a procedure here last year that saved his life, so I am forever indebted to them for that. The cardiac surgeons are top notch and not douchey doctors like so many of them can be (I’m looking at you, Nazareth oncology!). During my dad’s surgery they came in frequently to give us updates, and kept us calm and informed the entire time. Post op, the nurses were phenomenal. I really can’t say enough about everyone here. As far as the other reviews go, ER visits blow no matter where you are. No two ways about that. But if heaven forbid you need to go to a hospital, I think Aria is a smart choice.

My uncle was in a car accident last week a few blocks from Frankford Torresdale Hospital. The ambulance took him to the hospital since he hit his head, shoulder and knee in the accident. Being in the ER was a very unpleasant 13 hour experience and my aunt and I accompanied him during most of the stay. I arrived at the ER about an hour after the accident. I’ve been to two other Philadelphia hospitals in the last year or so and this one was by far the worst experience. They had to run a CT scan on my uncle’s head since he hit it pretty hard. After his initial CT scan and being in the hospital for a few hours, he really had to use the bathroom. My uncle was in a neck brace since they had not yet ruled out a neck or head injury. I hit the speaker on the wall to let them know that my 69 year old uncle really had to go to the bathroom. From what I have seen in the past, hospitals will give male patients who are not supposed to ambulate a bottle that they can urinate in it. I checked the room and could not find one. I called the speaker again since my uncle really had to go. The woman on the speaker said that someone would be right there. A good 10 – 15 minutes went by and my uncle had this awful look on his face and kept saying he really had to go. So my aunt and I helped him slip into his pants and maneuver across the hall to the bathroom which was literally just a few feet from his ER room. After he left the bathroom, his nurse walked by and saw him out of bed and started scolding him as if he was a child. My uncle was embarrassed. Apparently, it can be very serious if you have a spinal cord injury and move the wrong way and they hadn’t completely ruled that out yet for him. I tried to explain to her that we were never informed of the possibility of a spinal cord injury which could cause paralysis if he moved and no one responded to help him use the bathroom or bring him a bottle. The nurse then told us that he should have just peed himself and they would have cleaned it up. Of course, I agree that it would be worse if he injures himself further by walking to the bathroom than it is to pee yourself, but this could have all been avoided if they just sent someone with a urine container in a reasonable amount of time. And I really didn’t appreciate the nurse talking to him in a demeaning way. My uncle is a very jovial man. It was bad enough that he was physically injured, but most of the nurses and doctors certainly didn’t do anything to help his spirits. Finally, half way through his stay, one of the doctors was more pleasant and helped explain things. The nurse also gave him morphine without explaining if there were any other options for medication, even after my aunt and uncle questioned that morphine may be too powerful of a drug based upon his condition. Hopefully, my family and I never end up in the ER again, but if we do, I hope we get friendlier nurses and doctors.
The hospital did appear clean with good security. Otherwise, I would have given it 1 star instead of 2.

If 0 stars were a possibility that is what their ER would get. No one I know ever had a positive experience. My sister was delivered by ambulance, and waited more than 6 hours to be seen while sitting a wheelchair after a car accident. (Later, they also forgot they left her in the x-​ray machine and found her only after she got so bored she start singing David Bowies «Ground Control to Major Tom» LOL)
Even if you go in there with a bleeding crying child (a friend’s child was bitten badly by a dog) you still have to wait a looong time, in a gross and cramped waiting room. She waited more than 4 hours just to be called back!
Also, the staff if cranky and short with people. I don’t blame them specifically, the place is just so unorganized and inefficient that I imagine anyone working there would have their patience tested.
