I Glide

I’m a general fan of Segways and when there’s a Segway tour around, I’ll definitely look into it.
I-​Glide is interesting because they have their own site for Segway tour bookings. I actually booked the tour on another site… I can’t remember the name now… which I discovered was a just booking agency.
During the day trip there, weather was an issue as thunderstorms were coming in and out of Philly. The I-​Glide reservation people were very helpful in returning calls back just to let us know if the tour was still on. I think also because of the weather, we lucked out and ended up with a personal tour, which made the experience more fun.
We got a good tour of the area around the museum and had fun with some extra time for our tour guide to bring us up to the Lemon Hill Mansion area to enjoy the Segways.
If you’re looking for an interesting way to tour the Philly area, and ride some cool Segways, I-​Glide is it.

Awesome! We had a ton of fun taking this tour one evening during our Philadelphia vacation.
Take this tour in the evening, especially in the summer. During Philly’s first official heat wave of 2010, we wanted to tour in the evening so it wasn’t 102 degrees… only 91. There’s less people around on sidewalks, too, so you have less to navigate if it’s your first time.
Our tour guide was really great. He was patient and let us get our «Segway Legs» for about 10 minutes before we actually started on our tour. He gave detailed instructions about how to actually get on and pilot the Segway and he did hands-​on help when we actually got on for the first time. He explained the safety features of the Segway and exactly how it works to make sure we understood that it’s almost impossible to fall off.
Our guide was also really knowledgeable. We traveled all around the Art Museum to get great views of the city and the Schuylkill River. He knew a lot about the city’s history, public art, monuments, etc. and he gave really great explanations whenever we stopped somewhere. He enjoyed just chatting and talking to us and, since our group was small, answering a lot of personal questions we had. There’s never more than 10 in a group, so it’s nice to get personal attention from the guide.
This is definitely a great way to experience a city, especially if you’ve done all the other typical bus/​walking tours. Definitely worth the price and a very fun experience.
A few minor issues:
–Meeting place changes occasionally, so call ahead. Normally they meet in front of the art museum (EASY) and our tour met quite far behind the museum in a remote parking lot (HARD).
–Online reservations preferred — they don’t always answer the main phone.

i am a native of philly. but i was asked out by a cute boy and this is what he suggusted. it was AWESOME! the tour was great. i learned things about a town i thought i knew everything about. the segways are a fun way to get around. we took the last tour of the day. and it was kind of romantic. it was something totally different to do. if youre a tourist or a local, you should def check it out.

This is the best tour I’ve ever taken. Our tour guide was patient and considerate and never made me feel like an idiot – even though it took me a few minutes to get used to the Segway. He was actually able to answer questions about items on the tour as opposed to simply regurgitating info. We really got some local insight on the tour, too.
Go on a Monday when the museums are closed – you’ll have more space and probably a smaller tour group, too. Well worth the money!

This is a tour of the museum district of Philadelphia, each memebr of the tour is abroad a segway human transporter and wear a radio headset that links the to the tourguide.
Very interesting and great fun and although the radio didn’t always work that well I would recomend it
