Established in 2011.

I started J Hyman & Co. LLC in November of 2011 because I wanted to bring all my attention and experience to my customers in a relaxed, comfortable & professional upstairs office instead of a stuffy showroom. Personal one on one attention without distraction from the goings on inside a store is the peaceful experience I want my customers to have.

Ruben LIttman, Marshall Littman & Martin Hyman came before me.

I studied gemstone cutting in Idar-​Oberstein, Germany in 1990. The school was owned and operated by one of the oldest and most prestigious German gemstone companies, Ruppenthal. In 1991 I graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in California with a diploma of Graduate Gemologist. My first real job was for Gandelman Jewelers & Cartier in Aruba, Caribbean from 1992 until 1996. It was at Levisons Pawn in Miami from 1996 to 2001 where I learned about watches, ruby and sapphire treatment and buying estate jewelry. In 2001 I moved home to Philadelphia and started working for Marshall Asnen & Art Jacoby, two of the finest gentleman in the jewelry business. There I learned everything I would ever need to know about the jewelry business.
