Dr. Volpe is the best and his staff is great! The doctor is always in control, extremely knowledgable and professional. The ladies behind the desk are funny and personable. I’ve never had one unpleasant visit to this office and I’ve been a patient since he’s moved his practice there.

I recently moved to Philly and needed a new doctor, especially since I was in the hospital with a bunch of problems back in March. I tried to make an appt on zocdoc and was called to say those times aren’t accurate. The woman was a little rude about it too. I went to the appt and it’s extremely small. The waiting room was packed and I felt like we were sitting on top of each other. There was a woman who had a walker and I felt bad she had to stand. Luckily a nice gentleman gave up his seat, but if they are that busy, expand!!! The receptionist was a little all over the place. She scanned my cards and within 2 minutes, lost the copies. She needed to rescan. I told her my medicines and she was asking me to spell pericarditis, I think they should know that. The doctor was extremely nice! He was very thorough and listened to everything. He even sent me straight to the ultrasonographer for an echo. I like him, but the front desk needs work. I needed two referrals and had to call three times about them. I would give him 5 stars if it wasn’t for the front desk.

I’ve been a patient here since the pratice was owned by Doctor Pettinelli. Generations of my family have gone to this office. The place was so much better when Bernadette was the receptionist. The receptionist now always have an, annoyed don’t bother me what do you want now, attitude. And it personally makes me not want to even call when I am sick. Who wants to deal with that mess. Dr Volpe is great when someone is in the hospital he is always quick to stop by. He’s prompt, friendly and concise one on one. He Always asks about the family when you come in for a visit. You have to make in through the rude, unfriendly receptionist, the two hour cramped wait in the waiting room, which usually runs out of seating, to make it to see the Doctor first.

First time I went, I thought the receptionists were pretty rude and unprofessional. The tiny 10′ x 15′ waiting room was packed. I could barely keep my knees from touching the patient to my right who sat sneezing under the blasting TV. However, meeting with the doctor was pretty good, and I felt his care was adequate. He ordered some tests and an EKG– I asked if my insurance would cover it and they said yes. They quickly entered a referral for me and I was on my way. I got my EKG done, and never heard back about the results except to get a bill for $ 110. I guess it wasn’t covered after all. Now I need to have an emergency ultrasound. I was able to get an appointment at Methodist, and I called the office on a Tuesday afternoon to get a referral. I was met with a rude response and told that they needed two days to send over a referral(even though I watched a woman do one in 5 minutes). I told the woman on the phone that it was an emergency procedure, and she reluctantly said she would do it, and repeated how she needs two days to do this task, and next time I had better give her more time(as if I had been sitting on this appointment for weeks or something). I walked down to the hospital today in the sleet and snow only to find they never got the referral. Methodist refused to do the procedure, and neither of his offices answered the phone. She just didn’t bother to do it. I guess 4 hours wasn’t enough time?

Good doctor. Was sick and was seen within an hour of calling the office. Easy to talk to.
