Coffee is not the best but please don’t waste your money on the frozen drinks. They use to be good but the new staff don’t know who to make them. Service is very poor.

Service isn’t the fastest and their hours aren’t always the most convenient, but this is definitely the best place on Penn med campus to get coffee. When I can’t stand Au Bön Pain anymore, I trek the extra 100 yards over to the nursing school for this little café. Their lattes are quite scrumptious indeed. This is an excellent alternative to Gia Pronto, which I despise. The espresso is is much more flavorful and smooth.

Jazz & Java is a hidden gem on Penn’s campus, and I’m always baffled as to why more Penn students aren’t hanging out here! …well, it’s probably because it’s all the way in Fagin Hall. However, if you ever find yourself near Penn’s Nursing School or Medical School and are looking for coffee or a bite to eat, definitely check out Jazz & Java! Located inside of Claire M. Fagin Hall, it’s packed with seasonal drinks, decent grab-and-go lunches, and INCREDIBLE desserts! Seriously, those desserts though. They are amazing, and you can tell they’re handmade. Famous to Fagin students are their HUGE black and white cookies. Their brownies, blondies, and cakes are excellent too. The coffees and teas are standard, though the holiday varieties are always festive and interesting. Prices are moderate. The service is always lovely, with the baristas always smiling and happy to make your order. There is also a decent seating area with good WiFi(if you’re a Penn student) to get work done, inside of outside.

The coffee was burned. Floors and counters dirty. Cheaper, faster, tastier and more sanitary options available at dunkin donuts or mcdonald’s.

This coffee shop is a great little surprise that not many people know about. It is located in the Nursing School building right on the first floor. As far as I know they are open 5 days a week, until 2PM over the summer. During the school year, I think they are open until 5. Their coffee is incredible — never over-roasted, always delicious. The service is also exemplary! Reine, she always knows my order and suggests which pastries are the best that day. If I am in the mood to eat, I either get their chocolate dipped biscotti with a hot coffee or a croissant with an iced coffee. They are both amazingly delicious. I am not sure where they get their baked goods from but, the croissants taste as authentic as from Paris itself. They’re not burnt, or overly greasy, or just not flaky(like those crapissants at Starbucks.) They also have a frequent-buyer-10-punch-get-one-free card.
