King of Wings

Ok. So I ordered after work because this place is on my way home, let me just say it sucked like the first time I ordered from which was about 4 years ago, fiqured they’d improved WRONG. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they told me 15 to 20 minutes and it was ready in 10 minutes. The wings were hot but very greasy the sauce is not sauce at all its just red colored grease. Wings are small with not enough meat on them and the medium wings that I ordered had 0 sauce but a crap ton of grease. Lesson learned

Well there goes my just earned 15 dollars down the drain. Super bummed about that. In a state of desperation I was convinced by coworkers today to try King Of Wings for my first time. I checked out the very basic menu and figured if a place is ballsy enough to call themselves King of Wings, they must have good wings. Today I am being reminded never to assume. The boneless buffalo wings are downright god awful. I’m not a huge wing person but I’ve had them enough to know when they are good. I will admit KOW’s are are cooked well enough — no pink chicken or anything scary like that (that I could tell), but the honey BBQ «sauce» is a greasy watery mess that is simply all over the bottom of the container they are in. Honey BBQ sauce should be thick, sweet and tangy. This is none of those things. Dip the wing in the watery, greasy «sauce» for some flavor and it just slides right off back on to the container. Its almost as if the chicken wants nothing to do with the sauce. I don’t blame him. There is a slight flavor but its not a good one, more of a «sat around too long» kind of taste. On top of the terrible wings they will also provide you with a sad excuse for cheese fries. More like fries with a teaspoon of cheese in the middle for you to use on maybe 5 fries before it runs out. The fries themselves are soft and mushy, but not completely without flavor — that is provided by the assloads of salt covering this soggy mess they are trying to pass off as french fries. I paid $ 15 (that includes deilvery and tip) for this and I really only ate a small container of fries. Giant waste of money and time. Well lesson learned.

The best wings I’ve had in South Philly so far, and I’ve tried a lot of places! They were very meaty, the sauce was amazing and the price is just right. Had the mac and cheese also which was good, but nothing stellar. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

King of Wings have the best wings. My friends and I always order from KOW when we watch the ball game they are fast delivery and the best tasting wings. The last time we ordered BBQ, hot and nuclear flavored wings they took care of us and priced them at a total of 60 wings saving us money … great wings!

Way too overpriced for less than mediocre food. Their service is very fast I’ll give them that. The staff is cold and don’t waste their words, but I’ll presume that’s because they’re foreign and maybe that’s what’s acceptable there. Maybe they should spend a few extra minutes improving their food and making it taste good.

Great delivery and fries, very greasy chicken. Delivery was early and quick enough that the curly fries were hot but not soggy which is pretty impressive for delivery. They were tasty as well.
The boneless wings looked great at first. They were quite large and all white meat. The problem was the sauce. There were large puddles of grease and oil under both orders (hot and nuclear). When reheated more grease dripped off as the sauce further separated.

The buffalo wings are extremely tasty! The reason I gave three stars is because I ordered 20 wings the other night for me and my friend and they were very crunchy and not very much meat on the bones. I like places that are consistent. I may give them another chance but for now I’m looking for a new go-​to wings spot in south Philly.

Terrible. Dry frozen wings. Wings are also on the small side. Sauce is mediocre and that is the best thing I can say about it. Much better places to get wings within walking distance of this place. Also it doesn’t look very clean in there. STAY AWAY!

The most disgusting wings ever! No flavor, greasy and not even crispy! The chicken cheese steak hoagie lacked flavor but had a fresh roll. Thats the only good thing I can say. The wait was 30 minutes for just those two items, not worth it!

Needed a place that could handle a big order; 2000 wings, and KoW came thru. They were very easy to work with, the delivery was right on time, and most importantly we have over 250 people who really enjoyed KoW wings

we got a flyer from these guys stuck next to our doorknob. one night, wings were looking mighty tempting, so we ordered the boneless buffalo wings.
here’s a rundown of the timing, just so you can get a sense of the speed of the place:
8:44: ordered
8:57: called to add something to our order, was told it was already out for delivery
9:02: arrived at our door
this is particularly amazing when you consider we live at 18^th and Fitzwater, AND it was a Friday night. so, speed: A+
the wings were HUGE (almost a chicken breast each). the celery was plentiful and crisp, not soggy and rubbery. the blue cheese sauce was standard. the honey barbecue sauce left something to be desired, so i won’t be ordering it again. still, nothing a little sriracha couldn’t fix. i’ll get the hot wings next time.

It’s an ok place. I’ve had a few things– some good, some not so good.
buffalo chicken cheesesteak — chicken was good, blue cheese was good, hot sauce was good. But the hot sauce was sparsely drizzled on top like they were running out. You need to completely cover that chicken with hot sauce! COME ON! I had to add a lot of franks hot sauce myself and then it was delicious.
mashed potatoes and biscuits are good.
buffalo chicken sandwich is messy but delicious.
With the wings and boneless wings– the sauce doesn’t stick to the wings very well. I wouldn’t recommend them.
Definitely NOT the king of wings, but good for some sandwiches and sides.

Nice neighborhood wing stop. I won’t say it’s the KING of wings however but will order there for house parties if needed.

King of Wings was a bitter disappointment.
I had a house guest recently who, upon rummaging through my menu drawer, decided to order from King of Wings. I’d never ordered from the place and wasn’t really hungry, so I gave him the green light to order something for himself.
All he ordered was buffalo shrimp, french fries, and a soda and somehow, this added up to more than $ 20! I tasted one of the ‘buffalo’ shrimp — IF you could call it that! They were nothing more than some batter-​fried (most likely frozen) shrimp with a few squirts of hot sauce on them. King of Wings should be ashamed of themselves!
Needless to say, I won’t be ordering from there again.
