I had a horrendous experience here in Fall 2015. If you look at my other reviews on other companies, most of them are very positive, so it’s not like me to post something this negative — but as a fair warning to brides and bridesmaids: don’t step foot in this shop. They are dishonest, will tell you what you want to hear just to get your money, they messed up my dress (they sent me a USED dress) and didn’t offer me any ramification, they’re rude, and quite frankly all of that aside, their dresses aren’t anything special. There were several others in my bridal party who also had terrible experiences here, including the bride.
ALSO: read through the other negative reviews. The owner, or whoever works at L&H doing the «customer service», gets defensive and makes excuses in almost every response to negative reviews. They love to reference to «oh so and so had this documented», as if that’s supposed to make the situation okay. I can’t say enough bad things about this place. If you still decide to go, mark my words — you’ll unfortunately learn the hard way… and when you do, make sure to post a review.

This was the first place I went shopping for a wedding dress. I can’t remember the woman’s name but she asked me what styles I liked and showed me a couple dresses and I explained my preferences to her, trying to be helpful. Her response was «I don’t mean to be a bitch, but you need to try things on»… I said «okay, let’s do it» — it seems they would have done that in the first place. Rude and just not caring for someone about to pay a lot for a dress. They didn’t have anything near what I wanted and blamed that on my price range.

In my search for a bridesmaid dress I stopped at L&H first. I was really only looking and still needed approval from the bride who couldn’t make it to my appointment. My consultant was very nice and super patient. My problem is with the store layout. Everything is packed into the racks and the selection really isn’t so great. Lots of the same vendor, all the dresses kind of look the same, and the space could be used better. Dressing rooms are tiny and there is only one large mirror. When they measured me they ordered a bigger size than I actually needed too. I know this because I found my dress for $ 20 less and got the size I thought I needed. L&H is overpriced and tries to scam you on alterations by ordering too big.
*In response to the reply from the business on how to do my homework: I did do my homework. I shopped around and like I said found my dress for less money elsewhere. I also visited several other shops who measured me completely different and wound up getting the right size with a simple alteration of getting the dress hemmed. So maybe you should do your homework and price the dresses reasonably and learn how to measure!*

I had a great experience with L&H. Tara was wonderful. She helped me through it all. I shopped around and I came back to Tara at L&H. She had the perfect dress for me during a trunk show and I bought it that day.

I made an appointment at L+H Bridal after going to four different shops, I was exhausted and fed up with rude staff and bridal consultants. L+H was a breath of fresh air! They were pleasant from the moment I called to make an appointment. My mother and I went on a Sunday and we were paired with Annette. Annette was extremely helpful and willing to shop and dig for my ideal dress. She offered me great options and even pulled the seamstress in to see if certain alterations were possible. I wasn’t ready to make my decision by the end of the appointment, and Annette was kind enough to send me an email to schedule another appointment to try on the dress I really liked.
Ultimately, I ended up going with a different dress in a different shop (I saw it and fell in love with it immediately). But, my time at L+H was well worth it the experience was wonderful and I do highly recommend this shop.

I had a good experience with L&H. I was looking for a watters dress. I was having a hard time finding a dress in general because I wanted a sheath and mist places only had a few styles to try on. The watters line has fuller styles but also a good amount of sheaths. While L&H didn’t really have what I was looking for o the first go. They did have a large selection in general and my consultant told me of a watters trunk show a few weeks out. They had most of the left me at the trunk show. They were able to rush my gown since I had a shit engagement. I was also moving to LA in the process and was only in philly for 4 days for my shower and fittings and they were really flexible with times for my fittings and got my dress altered & press quickly & beautifully. I did wait at some appointments but nothing out of the ordinary and I could tell they were very busy til quite late each night. I was very happy overall!

L&H Bridal was just okay. I actually called to see if they had the new line of Pronovias dresses and specially asked for particular dresses I wanted to try on. L&H is not that close to me so if I was going to make the trip, I wanted to be sure I could try on the dresses I was looking for.
When my mom and I arrived for our appointment, we waited for a little bit and was brought upstairs. I told the consultant which dresses I asked for (5 total) and turns out they only had 1. I definitely felt lied to on the phone because they did not have the 5 they told me they would have. I ended up trying the one and some other similar ones.
The consultant was just okay, she did show me some other dresses, but overall, the customer service was not great. She pulled pretty random dresses away from my described style. She was also not very attentive and did not clip me in very well. My mom had to help re-​clip me a lot of the time.
It’s also odd because you share a mirror with another bride. Sort of awkward.
Overall, they have a lot of dresses from many designers to try on, but the service is so-​so.

L&H Bridal & Annette thank you for helping me find my perfect wedding dress! It made me feel so beautiful and special on my big day. I visited several bridal shops in NY, NJ, and PA. I was referred to L&H from one of my best friends — who also got her dress there and had a great experience. L&H is such a nice business and the staff was always so friendly. Annette in particular was extremely helpful. I brought some photos of dresses I liked all in the 10K+ range (way out of my budget) and she was able to help me find a dress just as lovely for much, much less! They have such a huge selection of dresses, so it was nice to see all the different options. When I returned for my fittings, they had finished renovations to the upstairs dressing room and it is so nice! I had my alterations done by L&H and they really worked with me to get the look I wanted.
Our groomsmen also got their outfits from L&H — I would highly recommend this as it ended up working out really well. We were able to find a reasonable priced tux rental and shoes. Some of the groomsmen in the Philly area went on their own to the shop to get measured, the others sent in their measurements. L&H gave us deadlines to get all the measurements in by, so we wouldn’t have any issues with the order. All the tuxes came in the Wednesday before the wedding and my parents were able to pick up everything along with my dress. They brought it all up to NYC for our wedding and then returned it the Monday after the wedding. The whole process was extremely smooth. I have only rave reviews for your shop — thank you so much L&H and Annette for our lovely wedding attire!

If I could give 0 stars I would. It’s sad I have to come to Unilocal to write a review to warn others of this place.
I tried calling this bridal shop 3 times within 1 week to make an appointment to try on dresses. It’s been over a month since I first called. No call back. No curtesy call to say hey we are busy sorry, we have no room currently to see you soon.
Let me also state that I called those 3 times with my name, and number left slowly so they could contact me back. No call back, just silence.
I would not recommend getting a dress there, only imagine if I had issues with a dress ordered, you’d only get a response if you show up in person I guess.
I would not recommend this place to future brides looking for a dress. Every other shop I contacted got back to me within a full business day, and was able to get my an appointment within the week after I called.

I’m an unhappy customer. Attention all bridesmaids and new brides beware of L and h bridal. This place really needs their employees to take a class in customer service. Let me give a little back story in regards to my situation, I purchased 3 dresses in the month of February and I didn’t receive any notification that the dresses were delivered. I finally got a call on May 21, 2015 at 1:25pm in regards to my maid of honor’s dress. I never received any notifications for the other ones. On that same day, I went to the store where I questioned the status of the other bridesmaids dresses and was told they were in and my bridesmaids were phoned. However, they never called my other bridesmaids. Also during my time there, I had my maid of honor try on her dress. Once the dress was on, I realized that it wasn’t a custom fit like I was told initially but a «basic rack» dress. I proceeded to question the sagging neckline on the dress and was told that it need to be altered (for additional price) even though it was again suppose to be a «custom fit». Ten days before my wedding date which is June 20^th, we returned for final fitting and the neckline that I had issues with prior to was cut and stitched horribly. I was still displeased with the final result at which point the staff (the seamstress-​older lady, name unknown) began yelling at me in front of other customers and «the manager”(Tara-tall, blondish hair woman), who failed to address the unprofessional behavior of her staff. They refused to refund all my money for all the dresses. To add insult to injury they only refunded me for one dress admitting fault but because of money issues they refused to refund me for all of the dresses. This is definitely a nightmare and I would never wish this on anybody days before their wedding.
Please note that the other bridesmaids dresses weren’t altered and I was denied a refund by the manager, Tara at 8:58pm after I contacted the accounting department and spoke with Margie at 7:06pm, a few hours later on June 8, 2015.

FYI: you not only overcharged me for alterations. You also overcharged at least one of the other bridesmaids who I spoke to last night. She was also charged $ 80 and actually questioned it in the store, and was told that that was just the price for bridesmaids. I called that day because I was asked to by the bride because she had just gotten off the phone and was given an attitude by your staff. Any time I asked what the solution would be if the dress did not come in I wasn’t given an answer. You did not call me on the 18^th. I called the store and that’s when I was told my dress was in. I was initially told that I could not come in that night for alterations. It was only when I insisted to talk to a manager that I was told that it was ok for me to come in. As for getting alterations somewhere else you are assuming that everyone else has all the time in the world to run around to other places to figure who could do them in that time frame. I did ask my normal seamstress who could not do it in that timeframe because she had other clients who had placed their orders before me. You cannot expect to walk into a place and say «I need this work done in a week,» and for them to drop everything to cater to you. When a person has a job, and children, and other responsibilities 10 days is not really a lot of time to get something like the alterations done. I was angry on the phone because my friend, the bride, was extremely upset at the situation and the way she was being treated. I absolutely did not use the F word over 20 times. That’s actually funny. Also I only used the word incompetent in my review online so there is another lie. You just showed what type of person you are by grossly exaggerating, making things up, and trying to say what kind of person I am when we have never spoken, and you know nothing about me. Also, when I spoke to Danielle I was told that the owner had just become involved in this matter. Then when I questioned why she was just getting involved the Tuesday before the wedding Danielle backtracked and said she had been involved from the beginning. No one can seem to keep their story straight here. I understand that the issue was with Mori Lee, and that you made many efforts to fix the problem with them; however, your efforts to do something in case the dresses did not come in were nonexistent. In the end, it’s your store, your business, and your problem, so take some responsibility. In addition, your communication with the bride and the bridesmaids was severely lacking. We (the bride included) had to call you a million times to figure out what was going on. You should have been calling us to keep us updated.

This shop was extremely helpful. I went looking for a wedding dress with a few ideas in mind but nothing set in stone. Adele was soo helpful and so friendly. She helped me find the dress I loved. She was patient and had some tips and ideas that were very helpful.
I loved this place so much that my bridesmaids, flower girls, and mom purchased their dresses from here. Lucy was also amazing helping my mom pick out her dress.
I am looking forward to going back and starting my alterations!

I am not happy with the dress alterations. They charge a lot ($ 81) and the dresses are not cheap ($ 220). You would think the alterations would be perfect, but that was not the case for me. The woman who took the measurements took 2 – 3 minutes to take them. My dress is loose after the alterations. They told me to wear double sided tape after the alterations. Don’t take your dresses here for alterations.

Dear Anette from L&H bridal,
I wanted to let you know that despite what you told me (that I would never find my dream dress for my budget of $ 1300), I found the dress of my dreams. I found it at another bridal boutique. I had a woman named Whitney who made me feel beautiful and did NOT bring me dresses that were $ 500+ out of my price range. She didn’t make me feel poor or tell me that I should ask my mother for the difference in price so I can get a high quality dress. She brought me dress after dress of designer favorites that I could afford and I found it! She made me excited about my wedding and that it was ok to come back at a later date when my mom was available to come. She didn’t try to convince me to put money down now nor did she make me feel shitty that I chose to go with my girlfriends before my mother. Whitney made me feel that it was my big day dress shopping even though she does this Every day as her job. I found it! Thanks whitney!
I gave this shop one star because I have friends who got their dress here (and I was there) who had a good experience with the owner. Moral of the story, avoid Anette at all costs if you want an exciting and fun dress shopping experience. Too bad Whitney does NOT work for L&H.

Got my Maggie Sottero gown here (they were the only place in the City with a sample of it). This place actually isn’t nice looking at all BUT you can totally negotiate on pricing AND Lucy the seamstress is great. My suggestion: go to a place like Bijou or Nicole Bridal for the «bride feeling» and then check out this place to make sure you didn’t foget anything. Stay away from the first floor though, that stuff is super tacky. Take my word on the negotiating too, I got $ 400 off a dress with a 4 foot train.

This shopis horrible! My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from L&H bridal September 15, 2012 for a May 26, 2013 wedding. It is now April 6, 2013 and the dresses still aren’t here! The staff at the bridal shop kept saying there is nothing they could do for us, and that we would have to wait, a month is plenty of time for alterations. As I explained all of my bridesmaids are doctors and do not have set schedules so that a month is like having a week for them. If the shop would have been upfront with me about the timeline of the dress I wouldn’t be so upset, however they explained to the girls and myself that the latest our dresses would come back by March. When we brought this up with the shop they said these things happen sometime. Please do yourself a favor, skip over this shop!

I went with my sister, the bride, to try on bridal gowns. The staff was nice & only showed her gowns within her budget, which was nice to prevent overspending. However, we were not allowed to look through the gowns to find ones that we liked & the staff did all the picking. Gowns were put on my sister & the dressing area was very nice, but they staff would not tell us the brand of the dress or allow for photographs to see how the gown would look on camera on wedding day. In my opinion, the only reason to prohibit photos & giving out the brand name is because they know their prices are higher than elsewhere. We ended up going to other shops with better customer service.

I had a wonderful experince at L & H Bridal. I brought with me several pictures of gowns that I liked, and Lucy was able to look at them and know exactly what I was going for. She pulled quite a few gowns for me to try on, and the staff helped me in and out of each of them. Lucy is very warm and funny, and made the whole experience very enjoyable.
They have an enormous selection which I think could accomodate most brides, and the prices are fantastic compared to other places.
The only reason that I did not give them 5 stars is because, even though I made an appointment, my friends and I had to wait about 30 – 40 minutes when we got there. The appointment before me ran late.
I would certainly recommend stopping in here if you’re looking for a wedding gown!

Lucy and her staff were amazing at helping me pick my wedding gown. I had no idea what I wanted going into her store, but they put me in a whole bunch of stuff until I found something that I liked! I also got my wedding shoes from her shop and she gave me my wedding earrings for free — not sure if this is because she’s just super nice or if it’s because she’s neighbors with my husband’s aunt. Either way, she is a real sweetheart.
My Maid of Honor also got her dress here — Lucy helped her pick a dress that went with her skin tone and didn’t make her feel so self conscious (she’s not really a lover of dresses).
L&H is defintely worth a look if you’re getting married!
