Logan Square Cafe

The old Milk and Honey café was glorious. The new management? Not so much.
On Memorial Day weekend, when the park was hopping with families and tourists, the café had only two (decidedly unenthusiastic) people working. Waited in line for 20 minutes for a simple sandwich (there were only 5 people ahead of me), then waited another 20 while the guy meandering around in the back eventually decided to make the sandwich. The result was not worth the wait: dry bread, a stingy lump of mozzarella, some generic greens & pesto. Blah. At least they gave me the correct order, unlike several of the folks ahead of me in line.
Also they were out of about half the things on the menu, and the things that were in stock leaned heavily on pre-​packaged/​mass-​produced, like cheapo packaged bread. This is Philadelphia. We have a couple of bakeries around. There’s no excuse for a sandwich place to not have fresh bread.
Another note of caution especially for parents: the bathroom doors lock automatically and the restaurant didn’t have spare keys. (On my visit, one bathroom was unavailable because someone had left the one and only key in there.) My friend told me on another visit she saw a young child get locked in there by himself — you would think the management would have learned from that terrifying experience that they needed to make a few more spares, but nope.
Not coming here again until there’s a new caterer.

We had a great experience here. The chicken fingers are so fresh and Amazing. It was fun to be able to go play at sister cities too.

Not a wide food selection, the eggs were pre-​made for the egg sandwiches. The coffee was fresh! Really great!

Waited in line for 40 minutes. Ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The eggs came out ice cold to the touch, cheese didn’t even melt. I went back to the register to ask for a refund and the cashier told me to get back in line. I didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes just to get a $ 5.00 refund (20% increase in egg products). Not worth it, save your time, money and potential stomach issues.

Perhaps the worst restaurant experience of my life. With zero orders in front of ours, the eggs benadict and Logan bowl took over 30 minutes to be served. By the time the food made it to us, my water was empty — the server never attempted to fill it, nor ever appeared back at our table.
This is when things got «good». The poached egg on the eggs benedict was served severely undercooked: the egg white was not white, but clear, making the entire egg so runny that it literally slipped off the bread and slice of packaged supermarket ham before I could take a single bite. As someone who makes poached eggs frequently, this was completely unacceptable. Generally, eggs are poached for roughly three minutes, give or take a minute, depending on water temperature. I would be surprised if these got more than one.
After consuming one slice of bread to alleviate my hunger, I brought the dish to the register to let them know that an egg was served raw and that I could not consume it. They took the dish and stated that they’d let the chef know. Minutes later, the chef came out to lecture me on how eggs are poached — I don’t think he understood that eggs should never be served clear. It CAN be served runny, provided it’s WHITE throughout; but it should never be clear.
After the lecture, I returned to the register to pay for the other meal which was actually INCORRECT itself. While the menu stated sautéed spinach as part of the bowl, they actually served spring green mix, which is both more bitter and lower quality. The bowl was consumed, but was decidedly average.
I honestly could not believe this experience. I’ve had awful service, long waits, inedible food, inaccurate menus, and attitude in the past… but never together. I will never eat here again. I advise others consider my experience.

I absolutely love this spot! The staff is so friendly and they have an incredible brunch selection.
The overall interior is like an indoor patio style (but they also have outdoor seating, weather permitting) with lots of windows to look out over Benjamin Franklin and the Cathedral. There is a park outside and welcome center. If you have any questions about the area, the hostess is super helpful.
The food is exceptional. I had an amazing pumpkin spice latte and a breakfast pizza for under $ 20. A whole pizza… with breakfast on it. I highly recommend this spot for an affordable brunch that is full of interesting fusion flavors (i.e.eggs and siracha on pizza). They also have soups, sandwiches, and pastries at the counter. You can order to-​go at the counter or sit and enjoy great service and fantastic views.

I never paid attention to this café because I usually walk by this area without stopping. However, yesterday was one of those work days where I just needed to go outside after being cooped up all day.
My friend who works nearby suggested coming to this park but since it was unfortunately too chilly outside, we decided to go inside this café. Upon first glance it’s very bright and cozy since the place is surrounded by glass and very high ceilings.
I love the way it’s set up, as for the food, it’s average.
I ordered a tomato orzo soup, which was very sweet. For $ 5+ it’s very steep in my opinion, but inflation these days…
The cashier was kind of meh, she seemed impatient while I was deciding on what to get. When my friend asked her what kind of soups she had, she answered quickly, with a tone that implied she didn’t have time for us. I don’t understand when people do that, especially since I work in customer service as well. I’m not overly sensitive either, but this made me feel that I was unwelcome.
The man who served me my soup was very sweet though, so that appeased me afterwards. If I return, it’s because I like the building lol

My partner and I stopped by the Logan Square Café for lunch and to enjoy the beautiful Parkway view. My Fresh Mozzarella sandwich on toasted multi-​grain bread offered many textures and tastes. The soft, creamy mozzarella combined with the crunchy bread, tomato, greens and pesto was delightful. My partner’s Grilled Vegetables and Hummus sandwich was equally good. She enjoyed the roasted vegetables with a bit of crunch and smooth flavorful hummus.

First time at this café for some lunch with a friend. Enjoyed my lunch and the service.

Hidden Gem! We were going to the Barnes and we needed a place for a quick bite and one of the helpful guides convinced us to eat here. We were going to pass it by but boy were we glad we listened to her! They have great soups, sandwiches, coffee, and a great view!
