Everything I’ve ordered from Luigi’s has been delicious– from pizza, to pasta, to salads and panini’s. Delivery is quick during the week, but can be a bit slow on weekends.

This place is amazing. It got pricier in recent years, but we cannot find better pizza in the area. Try the Margherita or ziti pizza!

I was looking for a place that did delivery, close to where my sister lives. Since we live in Cali, I wanted to send them dinner, for when she brought her first baby home! Luigi’s was more than happy to help me out. They even put a cute note on the inside lid of the pizza box! I was easily able to pay over the phone and gave them Dad’s phone number to call when the delivery was ready, outside their apartment. Mom and Dad raved over it! Could NOT be happier with how smoothly it went and how kind/accommodating the staff was. Thank you!

This place is the real deal folks … Luigi’s is THEBOMB! The owner, Luigi, is from Naples(Italy), my wife’s hometown, so he knows how to cook proper Italian. The food is incredible, the portions huge, and the prices extremely fair. We found Luigi’s after a short visit to Eastern State Penitentiary, just down the street a few blocks(they are also just a few blocks east of the Philadelphia Museum of Art). A simple place, it looks like a takeout pizza joint where you can get a slice and a soda and sit if you want, but the menu is much more extensive than you might think. Beside pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and salads, they offer chicken parmigiana, veal parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, and chicken cacciatore, all $ 10.95, including a large side of pasta($ 2.50 more for gnocchi, tortellini, or ravioli). My wife had a panino(singular — «panini» is actually plural in Italian), the Four Season($ 8.95) with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, oregano, and basil on fresh focaccia and an order of fries($ 3.50). The panino was very big and delicious, and the fries hot and perfectly cooked. The focaccia was obviously made in-house, soft on the inside and slightly crispy and perfectly seasoned with olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt on the outside. I ordered the Veal Parmigiana($ 10.95), coming with a massive side of tortellini($ 2.50 extra for a total of $ 13.45). The veal was the best parmigiana I have had in memory and the portion was huge(see my photos) with four good size breaded veal scallops covered with the best marinara I have had outside Italy and fresh, warm, gooey, delicious mozzarella. Then there was the tortellini, a meal in itself, perfectly cooked«al dente» and tossed(not drenched) in a superb Bolognese(meat) sauce just as it should be. I did not think I could eat all of it when they brought it to the table, but it was so good I could not help myself, cleaning both plates by the time we were done. The bill came to a little over $ 30 for the sandwich, fries, veal, pasta, and two fountain drinks, a mere pittance for a meal as good as this one. Their service and hospitality could not have been better or friendlier and the food is one of the best«values» I have experienced in a long, long time. Grazie Luigi … a presto! Horrible Customer Service. Their counter service personnel are extremely rude. The manager or maybe even the owner, I am unsure who exactly he is, gives off the exact same rudeness each and every time I am in their establishment. I make a point to say thank you after I pick up my order every time and almost always never receive a «You’re Welcome» back. It is unfortunate because the food is somewhat good.

If your ever in the city, go here. I went here with my best friends after visiting the Art Museum. My one friend and I got cheesesteaks and they were awesome. Fresh and Authentic, straight from the oven good. Guy Fieri, this is a place for you!

I guess it depends on what you order. I’ve ordered pizza pies and specialty slices from here many times and they were absolutely delicious! I just ordered the freddo eggplant panini though and could not have been more disappointed. They said the eggplant was fried, but it was more like huge chunks of grilled, oily eggplant. There was barely any mozzarella but lots of roasted peppers. Also, this should not be considered a panini. The focaccia was like pizza dough but the bottom was very mushy. I don’t think a panini press was even used. My advice, don’t waste your money of their«panini’s» but do order their pizza.

Steak sandwich was ok may of been better if they had toasted the roll like I had asked. Also ordered. Chicken fingers with honey mustard for my son did not get the honey mustard either and the cheese on his fries was so hard he couldn’t even eat them

When family comes to visit and I’m feeling too lazy to drive to one of the staple cheesesteak places of Philly, we usually venture over to Luigi’s for a perfectly comparable experience. Their cheesesteaks are so, so, good. Usually I opt for a chicken cheesesteak when ordering from a neighborhood pizza joint, but Luigi’s is one of the rare places where I will order an actual cheesesteak. They’re not greasy whatsoever, and their meat is super tender. As someone who generally orders chicken or turkey, I wish they had more options for both. I’ve had their hoagies, and I would love to see the homemade turkey in the future! My favorite. They also have really good, crunchy fries that are not over-salted. Their pizza is, in my opinion, the best option in the neighborhood and I’ve lived here for 28 years.

The prototypical neighborhood pizzeria, Luigi’s Pizza Fresca is a reliable location for your Italian cravings. This will be a short review as I only came in late night for a slice of pizza. Luigi’s is exactly what you would anticipate from a neighborhood pizzeria — small, personable, and straightforward, serving the classic Italian staples. I can only speak for the pizza, which was very good; thin crust, good ration of sauce to cheese, and it certainly hit the spot. The prices were also very reasonable for the area. We also received upbeat pleasant service despite the late hour. Overall, the quality of the pizza and the cheerful late night service is more than enough enticement for frequent repeat visits in the near future.

I love the pizza here. I haven’t tried anything else. And mostly, the service is great. Once I left an Amazon box I’d picked up from the post office at the seat where I was eating, and the dark haired shorter girl who works the counter set it aside for me until I could come get it the next day. She’s lovely. However, the tall white girl who sometimes works the counter has been brusque to the point of rudeness with me — it seems she has some regulars who are very devoted to her, but if you’re not one of them, you’re SOL in the customer service department. Plus today I saw her cough into her hand(hello, that is what the inside of your elbow is for), not wash her hands, and keep working. So, I don’t think I’ll be going back in there if she’s working. But did I mention the pizza is tasty? Best in Fairmount for sure. They use real mushrooms instead of those canned rubbery excuses. Delicious.

Good spot. 1) This was the closest cheese-steak shop I found around Philadelphia Museum of Art. 2) The cheese-steak was very large and good. 3) Price was reasonable.

Great place within walking distance from the Philadelphia Art Museum. We ordered the cheese pie, cheese calzone, and a couple of wraps. The cheese fries were also good(Petty cheesy review huh!) The wraps were good, especially the veal parm. The items I enjoyed most were the pizza and calzone. Reasonably priced food, nice casual place with friendly staff. Free refills on the drinks. A great place if you are going to visit the museum. Nice casual décor with no nonsense food.

Luigis is the go-to for pizza in the Fairmount neighborhood. Customer service is also amazing. You have to try the White Pizza! Some of the best pizza, subs and pasta in all of Philadelphia!

I ordered the portobello mushroom panini and a tuna salad. I wasn’t a fan of the bread, it was not toasted like a true panini. The vegetables were roasted nicely but the bread was too thick and there was too much of it. The tuna had too much mayo and after a few bites I didn’t feel very well. I also wish they used mixed greens instead of iceberg lettuce in the salad. I ordered delivery — it took about 30min and the driver knew exactly where the pool was to meet me but I wasn’t given any plastic ware!!! The food was in separates paper bags instead of delivered in a plastic bag which would have made it easier. Overall not impressed and will likely not eat any more than the few bites I had.

After having a few drinks, I decided to order from here because I wanted something new. By the time they delivered, I had myself a few more drinks and now was very excited about this pizza. The pizza was pretty good, sauce was delicious. It tasted like any other ordinary pizza. Pretty greasy though. At the time, I enjoyed it, but sober me probably would not have. Also ordered cheese fries which was super disappointing. I was expecting cheese whiz on my cheese fries but instead got mozzarella. Don’t call them cheese fries if you’re going to put mozzarella, call them mozzarella fries. All in all, it was a good place for the pizza

It’s hard to believe that in all of my time living Fairmount, I’ve never ordered from Luigi’s Pizza Fresca. Their stuffed broccoli rabe and sausage pizza immediately made its way to our favorite’s list and earned Luigis a pretty high spot on our go-to delivery list. The stuffed pizzas only come in large but should probably considered a double-large. As the name would suggest, the toppings are stuffed between two crusts. The top crust seemed to be dusted with garlic, oil and parmesan cheese adding an extra magic to the pie. There was a great Italian flavor with each bite. Even the broccoli rabe tasted fresh and nicely seasoned. Despite two layers of crust and a large amount of fillings, it was still manageable to pick up or cut with a knife and fork. Unfortunately, I didn’t love the eggplant parm sandwich which I also ordered and will be deducting a star from my review. It wasn’t well breaded and the eggplant was just of ok quality. The sauce, cheese bread and eggplant didn’t blend together as an eggplant parmesan sandwich should. Eggplant parm sandwiches are a dime a dozen in Philly, but the stuffed pizza was so amazing and unique that I won’t let the sandwich get me down. Between the sandwiches and pizza, we had leftovers. The pizza tasted awesome hot & fresh, but then amazing cold out of the fridge. We ordered through Grubhub and the delivery came within about an hour on a Friday night. The prices were also reasonable. Luigi’s Pizza Fresca definitely left its impression on me and I can’t wait to order their stuffed pizza again.

Ordered take out from here a few times now and we’ve been pretty happy with their pizzas. The pies are thin and offer a good crispiness, not thick and chewy like others. We also got the standard fried food fare: chicken tenders, onion rings, and fries. All were piping hot and hit the spot when we picked them up. Honestly, I think we’ve found our new pizza joint. Most recently, we ordered the«blue pizza» which is a massive 24“x24″ pizza. HOLYCRAP. It’s an insanely large pizza. The edge slices were crispy, but the ones in the middle were not as much. But we had to try it at least once! Def order this only if you’re planning on feeding about a dozen people.

My previous Luigi’s Pizza Fresca experience with their pizza and fries wasn’t that great. But their chicken fingers were on point. So, the GF and I were in the mood for some bar bites and snacks, so decided to give them another try. Cheddar Jalapeño Poppers [$ 5.75] The cheddar jalapeño poppers seemed homemade and were nice — the breading was crispy and a cheddar cream cheese mixture was within. The marinara was a bit weak though, without much seasoning. Zucchini Sticks [$ 6.35] The zucchini fries were fresh and were also crisp. Buffalo Chicken Fingers [$ 7.45] The chicken fingers weren’t overly breaded and were juicy. The accompanying fries weren’t well seasoned, but were thin and crisp. Grilled Portobello Panini [$ 7.65] Portobello mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, caramelized onions The GF was in more of a vegetarian mood so went with the grilled portobello panini. The innards were decent — fresh mozz, roasted peppers, rich caramelized onions, and hearty mushrooms. However, the bread seemed like pizza dough and the sandwich as a whole could have been on the press a bit longer, if a press was even used. Cheese Fries [$ 3.45] I was in the mood to carbo-load, so went with some cheese fries as well. The fries were limp however and the mozzarella covering it didn’t really do much to add to each bite. Overall, Luigi’s Pizza Fresca has some good bar bites. Do try their chicken fingers, zucchini fries, and jalapeño poppers, but I’d skip their panini’s.

I’ve ordered delivery from Luigi’s twice so far and, aside from one minor hiccup that they quickly worked to resolve, I’ve been happy with my experiences. The first time, I developed one of those cases of my eyes becoming way, way bigger than my stomach. I couldn’t leave my apartment so my options were to either cook something(hahaha) or order delivery. I pulled up GrubHub, found this place in my neighborhood, and inputted my order. Half an hour later, my Italian hoagie, cheese fries and«small» pizza topped with bacon bits arrived. «Small» was a boldfaced lie. I even asked the delivery driver if he was sure it was a «small» pizza. He insisted that it was indeed a «small» pizza, but I assure you, fellow Unilocalers, this pizza was«large.» And there was only one of me to eat all of the above! No worries, I persevered. It all lasted a few days, too. More recently, I ordered in Saturday night with a friend. This time around, I chose a slice of plain pizza and, again, an Italian hoagie(what can I say, I’m Italian — I really like hoagies named after my heritage.) My friend ordered an eggplant parm. When we brought our bag inside, we realized that the pizza slice was missing, so I called the restaurant to let them know. Twenty-five minutes later, the delivery driver came back, ran up to my door and let me know that there were THREE slices inside the box. !!! When I opened the box, two were plain Sicilian squares and one was a slice of white pizza. I shared one Sicilian with my friend, who was happily eating her parm platter at the time. She also enjoyed the pizza, as did I, and I appreciated the extra thought they put into it for what was a piece of the order that could easily and understandably be overlooked. That’s some good service, and I’ll be ordering again soon.
