Mandingo African Hair Braiding

So many things:
1. I tried calling to make an appointment twice with no response or phone call back. I eventually just walked in to make an appointment
2. I ask for waist length kinky twists and they telling me that the hair they have isn’t long enough. Also, long ones are $ 170, not the $ 150 they told me originally
3. They just stretch out the short hair and give me THE worst kinky twist I’ve ever gotten. I mean, I hate it. But what can you do when you just spent 6 hours and $ 170 getting your hair done
4. They pulled my hair so much. Like not even a hint of a gentle touch
5. She didn’t even try to talk to me. It seemed like all the braiders talk to each other in a different language, while the clients all just sit there quietly. Not exactly welcoming
Overall a horrible experience. I went because it is so close to my apartment, but I will definitely not be going back

The ladies at Mandingo are exceptional! I called to see if they could give me some Marley Twists and half an hour later someone drove to the shop as if I had an appointment. (This was 8am on a Sunday morning). She quoted me a standard price for medium length twists which was paid upfront.
Three rows into the process I realized the style I asked for, and was receiving, wasn’t the style I envisioned. I simply asked for the remainder of the hair be longer without disturbing what was currently in place. INSTEAD, she told me that we were going to take the three rows out and give me exactly what I want. She said she wanted me to be happy when I left. I was so shocked that I told her she didn’t have to, but she insisted on giving me the style I wanted, although I poorly communicated my wishes from the onset.
After taking the twists out (of course I helped), she recruited another stylist to take over and she started and finished my waist length Senegalese twists in only four hours without charging me extra for the added length. Needless to say, I gave her a big tip and will be sure to return for another natural look.

After 7 years I cane back to my roots. Mouna and Kia did a phenomenal job in 5 hours! It is stylish, professional, sexy and classy and I couldn’t thank them enough!

I went here recently on a Saturday morning and got waist length individuals. The price was pretty reasonable compared to other braiding salons. I got there at 7:45am but they opened at 8am. It only took 5 hours to complete and the braids were very neatly done. I will definitely go back
