Market Blooms features two locations inside the Reading Terminal Market. Our cut flower store offers a wide selection of flowers both locally grown and from exotic locations around the world. Need a lot of flowers for a party or event? We offer multi-​bunch pricing everyday with reduced per bunch pricing after just two bunches. Mix the bunches to create your own bouquets.

Our houseplant and garden store carries all of the essential supply items you’ll need to keep your indoor plants and your urban deck, patio or garden looking great throughout the year. Conventional and organic fertilizers and insect sprays. And of course, the plants and flowers too! Locally grown potted herbs and medicinal plants, window box and bedding plants, vegetables, seeds, bulbs, grow kits, bonsai, orchids, cacti, hanging baskets, holiday plants and lots more. We also carry a large selection of garden gifts and kids items as well.

History

Established in 2002.

Market Blooms acquired the former «Miriam’s Market Flowers» in 2002 and expanded to take over the former location of the «The Flower Basket» in the spring of 2007. In the summer of 2008, we purchased a five acre property just twenty minutes away in South Jersey. We plan to begin offering a limited selection of our own organically grown cut flowers and potted plants in the spring of 2009.

I’m planning to spend a lot of time at our new property this spring, learning how to grow things naturally, sustainably and organically. I think we already have the freshest cut flowers anywhere and soon I’ll be able to say «I grew that myself, and picked it for you this morning.» You can’t get fresher than that!

Okay sure, the owner can have an attitude but it’s not that bad. You know what isn’t bad at all? The prices and flowers! Great prices for fresh bouquets, so of the best in the city considering quality of flowers. You can walk out of here with the best bouquet in the place for 20 $. Of course, there are nice ones too for even less than that. The last bouquet I bought here lasted weeks in my very cold house and brightened my day each time I saw it.
They can also gift wrap but don’t have any boxes.

Went to this place a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon to order flowers for an upcoming event. I was told by the sales person that the manager was in charge of orders and that I needed to speak with her to place an order and she did not work Sundays.
I then went back one day the following week to place my order and was told that this was the managers job. I asked if she was in and was told she was in and would be out to see me in a few minutes. Rude and in a hurry she kept telling me to look up flowers on the computer and email her what I wanted. She was practically running away from me. As a small business owner I found her to have horrible customer service! I would have been out of business many times over if I treated anyone in such a manner. I went to her for her expertise and help and received neither! I suggest she teach her staff to help out with orders or get schooled on customer service.
P. S. I went to Whole Foods on South Street and met Kelly who was the manager of there flower department. She was delightful! EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable and took all of about 20 minutes!

The Reading Terminal Market garden… well that’s what it feels like!
It just smells amazing, so make sure if you are anywhere near it just to sniff your way through. Yes, it’s in the middle of the hustle and bustle of such a high trafficked, busy spot in the city but it is a great reminder to stop. And smell the roses. Literally.
I really crave these spots with amazing flowers. I wish we had more stops like this in Orlando. They come fresh from a farm in southern Jersey!
One of their missions is stated as «We think the flowers you buy should be as healthy for the environment as they are beautiful.» I love that. A company who stands behind their product and the environment.

I arrived at about 6 PM on a Thursday to a pretty depleted selection of about two dozen total flower arrangements of which represented about a four flower varieties.

This place has bailed me out a couple of times over the last few years when I’ve forgotten important dates. The staff is courteous, the selection is great, and is located fairly prominently within Reading Terminal itself. If you find yourself in need of flowers for a special occasion in Center City, this is the place to go.

Fresh flowers at a reasonable price equals 5 stars!
This is my goto place for fresh flowers and pots without getting raped at a normal florist on the street. They are usually helpful when they aren’t too busy and can help you combine several items for a nice bouquet.
I like how they accept LevelUP so you essentially get 10% cash back on everything you spend there.
They pack the flowers in a very nice plastic carrying bag also.
Minus one star b/​c the flowers don’t seem to last as long the more expensive ones from online but for 1⁄3 the price, you can’t get everything!

They have a lot of options at fair prices. If you’d like a special bouquet — you can pick out the different flowers and they will make you your own arrangement.
While they may not have the best flowers — they are certainly good. The staff is helpful, though not overtly friendly. This is generally an oasis in an otherwise hectic terminal filled with food options.

This is my go to place to pick up fresh cut flowers and they typically have a nice, fairly extensive array of flowers to choose from. If you want a full bouquet be prepared to spend a little bit, this is not the place where you can spend $ 10 and walk out with something nice. The staff is nice although not really overly helpful. Their flowers also are clearly fresh, my bouquets always last over a week which a nice change from the typical supermarket floral bouquets.
Bottom Line: If you want something to really wow and that goes beyond the typical arrangement– this is your place. You can also try out your artistic flower arranging flair by picking out individual flowers. Not cheap.

Market Blooms is the only flower shop in the entire city of Philadelphia that I’ll shop at, they really are that good. The flower selection is to die for, their bouquet making skills are unparalleled, and their prices are quite reasonable. I shop here probably twice a month for my fiancée and it seems that each time is more impressive than the last. On my most recent visit (July 8, 2012) I picked up a bouquet of yellow and white daisies and as of this posting (a week later) they are still just as vibrant and full of life as they were the day I bought them. Over time I’ve bought two vases here as well and each was beautifully crafted and very cheap given how gorgeous they look.
While many people on here have commented about encountering rude staff and being treated poorly I have never been treated with anything but the utmost respect and have had all my questions answered immediately, and with a smile (always appreciated). A matter of fact, most of the flowers I buy are recommended to me by the staff and they have yet to let me down.
If you’re in the Philadelphia area and in need of flowers Market Blooms is a must!

I decided to keep a boquet of flowers in my desk at work, and I needed an inexpensive vase… something simple to care for. I inquired about such a product; not only did they have a nice plastic vase, but it was only $ 3.00! I have also purchased a few premade mixed bouquets from here, and all have pleased the recipients – whether it was a friend or just me!

The fresh flower section in the front is great — but Market Blooms is also part of the plant store in the back and the experience was awful. I purchased house plants before and never had a problem, but recently I was in the market for a fern in a hanging basket. Got one way to big for the space I wanted it for, immediately called and asked if I could run back and make an exchange a woman from the flower shop said sure — that shouldn’t be a problem. Went back — and the woman at the plant shop yelled at me so badly and treated me so poorly I actually got shake-​ey. I wanted to explain what happened and that I called — but she continued to yell at me and humiliate me. It was really really awful.

I really do appreciate you exchanging it for me, but you may want to consider updating your receipts to NOT read «valid return within 30 days». Also, I did not ask about the return policy at the time, I was way too excited about purchasing the plant to be quite honest. It did not come up.
Essentially I was not upset about the actual exchange — it was how combative your sales clerk was. See if she explained to me the policy in a delicate or reasonable way that would have been acceptable. Maybe even suggesting, hey I’ll give you a discount on another purchase and we’ll help you re-​pot this so you can keep it in a pot on a stand would have been acceptable. I’m an intelligent, reasonable adult — it was more about HOW SHE SPOKE TO ME.
And as you were not there, unfortunately your clerk lied to you and said that she explained the policy to me. What would I gain by lying. I’m telling the truth and again, I do appreciate you exchanging it.
Finally you could of sent me a msg via Unilocal to apologize I would of then removed my negative rating. As it stands though — I have to stand by it.

My version of getting my condo ready for company is buying a bouquet of flowers. I’m sure they’d appreciate it more if I made my bed, but tough. Flowers is all they are going to get.
Market Blooms is a great option for last minute flowers. Located in Reading Terminal Market, the bouquets are beautiful and eye catching. Although not exactly a steal price-​wise, the flowers are fairly priced.
The staff is always very nice and doesn’t try to rush you as you try to pick out what exactly you are looking for. They also have a nice selection of vases if you are in a pinch.

i can count on one hand the number of times i’ve bought flowers. and market blooms inspires me to increase that number, thanks to their beautiful selection.
one cool tuesday morning december, i swung for a quick purchase. less than a minute later, i had selected a bouquet that boasted deep, elegant colors with vibrant yellow sprays — gorgeous! i don’t know how much flowers typically cost, but this was worth it for $ 15. it smelled absolutely wonderful! a complete wave of fresh air into a warm but demanding office environment.
the checkout lady exuded an aura of calmness, unusual for a busy place like reading terminal market — well, unusual for ANY workplace on a tuesday morning. guess this is what happens when you get to enjoy such beauty & inhale such sweetness on a daily basis.
as usual, i would rate 5 stars were it not for the priciness. but who knows — maybe i’ll change my mind after i discover cutthroat prices at other florists.

COnveniently located in RTM, this is a great place to grab inexpensive cut flowers. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
Note: The also give a discount to PHS (Pennsylvania Horticulture Society) members and often run deals during the flower show.

I really like this place a lot, and I have been going here for all of my planting necessities for over 5 years. I’ve seen it change from a fresh cut florist to a houseplant, herb, potted plant, and garden inspired green spot. The quality of indoor and outdoor plants here is excellent. The herbs and house plants are reasonably priced, and quite often they have great deals like buy one get on half price. The staff is very friendly and are great resources of knowledge on a broad range of topics related to plant care, feeding needs, sunlight, soil composition, etc.

This has been my go-​to spot for all of my planting needs. The stuff there is beautiful, and they have things like herbs and spices for very reasonable prices. The decorative stuff is a bit more pricey, but still not bad for what you’re getting.
Plenty of times I’ve asked the staff questions about caring for my plants, and they have always been helpful and experienced.
The shop is a bit bigger after their recent renovation, but it’s still cozy and very comfortable to browse. Like Iovine’s it can get a bit crowded on weekends, but not as bad, and they are still helpful.
