MD Dwellings

We were very pleased with the studio apartment on Rittenhouse Square. It was exactly as represented and perfect for our needs. The transaction was incredibly easy. The location was excellent. The accommodations worked really well for my husband in his wheelchair. The doorman and other staff were very courteous and helpful too.

I can only speak for one of the Art Museum units — both of which are owned by the folks mentioned in the reviews Chris B cited — and would give a zero if I could. The studio I stayed in was a dump and did not resemble the ads. If you look through their different listings, you will see photos of the same rooms, rugs and props (or do a Google image search: very interesting). When I arrived, the stove didn’t work and the carpet’s old and dirty, among many other things. Nothing got fixed; lots of excuses or blaming others, but I was in a pinch so stayed. They’ll also charge your credit card without using the online system they set up or telling you. Once I found the past aliases, searches let to horrible reviews and many public court records, including suits by the condo association and by previous renters. I’m glad Ardashir had a great stay, but anyone thinking of renting from these people should do your research first: see the place before renting, check reviews and/​or legal records, and don’t give them your credit card number. If you don’t have the time for research, rent elsewhere.

Amazing experience, I rented a 1br while I was in Philly. My expectations were blown away! The place was amazing, I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

These people were super eager to get me to put down a deposit, but I couldn’t find any reviews of «MD Dwellings» anywhere. But I noticed the invoice they sent me mentioned «Weston Properties», so I searched on that. The Rental Protection Agency had a number of complaints regarding Weston, and fortunately Unilocal linked Weston to Veith Apartments who are reviewed here:

So I decided after learning the background of their company that I should go with someone who works within a system that includes accountability such as ratings by tenants such as AirBNB. Not because I believed all that I read online, but because I wanted greater certainty that I had a decent place to stay after a cross-​country move.
Trying to be courteous and giving MD Dwellings the benefit of doubt, I emailed them back and told them I found another place.
They sent a 1 word response in email: «asshole».
Seriously. I was not going to write a Unilocal review for them, but after that email, I think they deserve a ZERO star review, but that’s not possible.
