I was wary at first because they are so nice and helpful I thought it was too good to be true. I’ve been burned in the past, but they are seriously genuine people. The estimate they provided was correct and they were able to get all the work done in one day.

Very fast service oil change done in 20min and staff are very friendly and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

Efficient and friendly. I needed a new side view mirror. Mine was hanging off the side of my car. They instantly took a look at it, removed the broken one so it wouldn’t damage the electronics, and called their part supplier to give me an exact price.
It was less expensive than I thought. When I came in (once the part arrived the very next day) they immediately fixed it and had me on my way very quickly. I couldn’t have had a better experience. If I have car trouble again, I will definitely be back.

Midvale auto did a complete engine swap and also interior and exhaust work on my classic jeep. the work as well as their customer service was excellent. I’ll reccomend midvale auto to family and friends for all service.

Midvale Avenue Auto was my go-​to auto shop when I was living in the East Falls area. As far as pricing goes, they’re very affordable, plus they are straight up honest about when the car is going to be ready and what it is going to cost.
A couple of days before I moved, I’d brought my car in because it was making some creaking noises on the right side. My car had its right sway bar replaced but afterwards the creaking ramped up to old man arthritis mode. At this point I was freaking out because I needed the car to make the drive north for my move, but didn’t want to take it on the turnpike when it sounded like it was about to fall apart.
Thankfully, we were able to bring the car in the next morning for another look. I could tell that Dennis and Mike were skeptical considering that they’d just replaced the sway bar, but they asked me to go for a test drive so Mike could hear what I was claiming the noise to be. We barely made it halfway down the block before he heard the noise, and diagnosed the newly replaced sway bar as being defective (see, I wasn’t crazy!). Within a few hours they had it fixed and good to go, plus they didn’t charge me for the additional labour or replacement.
Though I’m out of the area and car-​free now, I’d highly recommend Midvale if you need a place for your car needs. They’re one of the last remaining community places in the neighbourhood and it’s definitely a place to be supported.

Mike and Scott took great care of me. I showed up without an appointment for an oil change. At first they didn’t want to change my oil since the owner was out and they wouldn’t be able to give me a receipt. I said I would pick up the receipt on Monday.
Scott jumped into action and had my car up on a hydraulic jack in a jiffy.
Mike noticed that there was a leak in one of my tires and a couple of nails in another tire. They fixed both of them and did not charge me for it. They were very cool and allowed me to hangout and talked about the antique car restorations that they also do.
The oil change itself took 15 –20 mins and I also got the lowdown on a nearby bar that does some great drink specials.
Where else can you talk cars, motorbikes, scotch and get an oil change in 20 mins!

I had always gone to my parents mechanic for the 15 years I have been driving. I moved to east falls and my car died. It was a big hassle to take it to where my parents were so my mom told me that when she was growing up (in east falls), midvale auto was there. She always likes businesses that are local to the community and have been around for a long time.
They took my car the next day. Dennis, the owner, told me what was wrong and immediately fixed it. Of course I was skeptical, because as a woman, mechanics can see a «sucker» coming. But I don’t put up with bullshit. In this case, I never had to. His mechanic Mike is also WONDERFUL!
They have reasonable prices, will not just tell you to fix things just to fix things, and are all around extremely knowledgeable and honest. I will always take my cars there now. (unfortunately I’ve been there every week with both of my cars because they keep having issues, but Dennis/​Mike always come to the rescue.
Support the local business! They also have AMAZING classic cars that they restore on site. Really cool!

Awesome guys! Dennis and Mike are straight up good honest mechanics. What impressed me the most was beyond good prices and service was: I had a two part repair that had a couple days in between while the part came in. They got my 2000 audi a4 running with a band aid so I could get to work the first day. When I asked what I owed, the owner Dennis said «we’ll settle up when we put the final part in» So he let me drive away for free after they got my dead car running. That kind of neighborhood trust and honesty is something we see less and less of these days. It goes a long way, and so will my car if these guys are doing the work.
