I’m giving them five stars primarily for their craft beer selection, and even more so the fact that they keep their website up-to-date(and ). I was looking for a specific beer that I have missed for years since I moved from Chicago. When I found it on and saw that this beer distributor had it, I got interested but honestly felt that it was likely not updated. I called Moore beverage the next day and they said they had it. When I got there, as anticipated, it was there. The prices are reasonable and looking at the other craft beers, they have a huge selection. The only downside is that parking is on the street but there’s plenty around.

They’re nice, their website is maintained well, prices are decent and the staff know what they have in stock. Parking is easy, and if you wander around, inevitably someone will ask if you need help, and always knows where to look. I’ve gotten several hard to find, or fast-selling cases here and fall through spring, their temperature in the warehouse is such that you can cool the case down quick — but check their fridge as they keep a decent selection cold in the back. You can be in and out in a few minutes flat or enjoy wandering if you’re not sure what to stock up on. Can’t ask for much more from a distributor!

Not bad. They have a great selection of beer(I stopped by to get some magic hat), and the prices weren’t too shabby either. I tried this place out since it was somewhat close, and I simply didn’t want to walk all the way up to Bella Vista. I found my beer quickly and was on my way out in less than five minutes. The woman who checked me out was exceptionally friendly as well. I’ll be back.

I have to bump Moore up to 4 stars based on recent service and realizations about how great their prices are. My girlfriend and I picked out some Pennsylvania beers that we will serve at our wedding then we went to 3 distributors in South Philly to compare prices: Bella Vista, Springfield(recently moved to 22nd& Washington!) and Moore Beverage.(Haven’t made it to Federal yet. But their layout is cramped enough that I don’t really want to look around…) How’s this for numbers? Victory Prima pils was $ 38.50 at Bella Vista, $ 37 at Springfield, $ 34 at Moore. Yards Philly pale ale was $ 35 at Bella Vista, $ 34 at Springfield, $ 30 at Moore. Troegs Perpetual IPA was $ 45 at Bella Vista, $ 40 at Springfield, $ 36 at Moore. Stoudts Gold lager was $ 36 at Bella Vista, $ 37 at Springfield, $ 32 at Moore. Yuengling Premium 12 oz. cans was $ 17 at Bella Vista, $ 19 at Springfield, $ 14 at Moore. In EVERY case(pun intended) you save by buying at Moore. The average savings versus these two other distributers was $ 4.65PERCASE. You save at least $ 3 per case, up to $ 9 versus buying Troegs IPA at Bella Vista. That’s a savings of 10−20%. Pretty significant. I even saw a case of Founders All Day IPA for only $ 35. Great stuff. Not only that, Long, the manager, who is usually working the counter was really pleasant and helpful with us. When we mentioned we were buying a bunch of beer for the wedding soon she wasn’t pushy and encouraged us to shop around at various distributors(possible because she knows her prices are really good?). She also said she could get anything we wanted if we ordered through her a week in advance and that she would give us a dollar off per case if we bought ten or more cases. Pretty sweet, right? Later on she was able to communicate with me by e-mail to complete our order. Springfield is still HUGE at their new location and they have a superior selection. Bella Vista is much nicer inside than any of these other places and has a really good craft selection. Federal could be as cheap as Moore from what I’ve heard but it has a narrow cramped layout. Moore’s craft beer selection has vastly improved over the last 5 years and they have an open floor plan. But, their prices dominate these other South Philly locations. For that alone they may be my new go-to beer distributor.

Moore Beverage has increased their craft brew selection, while maintaining good prices. The staff here is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I buy plenty of beer here and have never felt ripped off.

They’re cool peoples and they always have a good deal on PBR or whatever I decide to grab. I’m not a fancy beer person so it doesn’t matter what esquisitely-brewed seasonal special edition flavored ale they have.

I usually go here simply because it is the closest distributor to my apartment, but thier selection is actually quite good. They always have plenty of Dogfish and Rogue and the standard city prices. Not the most pleasant location aesthetically(it’s basically a warehouse) but it gets the job done. My one main concern is that there is no heating or air conditioning, which beer connoisseurs will tell you has an effect on flavor.

Good neighborhood place with a decent craft beer selection. I’m sure it’s not the best craft beer selection but honestly they’ve surprised me with what they did have. And in case you’re into it — they also have a nice shitty beer selection, notably, Bud Light Lime. They’re also not suffering from any shortage of the girly teenager drinks either. Granted, I don’t know what inspired me to pay as much as I did for two cases of Boone’s Farm, but heck, it’s nice to know a place will help me out on that mission. I’ve also picked up a keg from this place and it was a pretty standard operation. Not too sure about pricing, I’m not one to do too much shopping around especially when this is the sort of place I stop at for last-minute decisions. They’ve always been quite helpful however when it comes to finding what I’m looking for, answering questions over the phone and even helping me fit ridiculous kegs into my car’s tiny back seat. Not too bad in my book.

Having recently moved to the Pennsport neighborhood, getting to Bella Vista for a case of yummy beers has become increasingly difficult — mostly because I now depend on my roommate for rides there. Unfortunately, as I found myself throwing an impromptu party while he was out of town, I was kind of stuck. Then I remembered about Moore, which is 3 blocks from my house, and my problem was solved. This place is definitely kind of sketchy looking, but don’t let that deter you. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. While it is true that their craft beer selection isn’t the best, I’m a broke-ass student and server so it’s not like I buy super expensive cases. Anyway, I was very pleased with the selection AND prices. My purchases were Yards’ Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale($ 27.99) and Flying Fish Grand Cru($ 31.99). I was so stoked about it because the Flying Fish case was like 6 dollars more expensive at Bella Vista. There was also a case of Founders’ Dirty Bastard for less than $ 40.00…score :D Also, there are still a lot of fall seasonals there because people in my neighborhood generally don’t buy craft beer. Win-win! The coolest part though is how nice they are. Seriously. They have a delivery service like most other distributors, but the guy let me ride in his car with him because it was FREEEEEEZING that evening. I mean, maybe that usually happens but I’ve never had beer delivered before so who knows. Regardless, my world has now changed forever and my liver will be taking a turn for the worse because I can now have a case of beer delivered to my door. Amazing. Simply god damn spectacular. Seriously, give this place a chance. You may not find your super rare Belgian ale here, but if you want a decent selection of quality American brews with some fancy-pants imports then you’ll walk away thrilled.
