I love this little café! I work right down the street so it’s so convenient for me to run in and grab a latte! Which by the way are the best in the city in my opinion. I always have friendly service from every worker that I’ve met and I’m so happy to have them in the queen village neighborhood!

I enjoy coffee shops a latte. And this one is cute and delicious. I dropped into this place the other day on accident because I was making my way over to Philly Aids Thrift Shop(see my review) and mis-remembered it being on 3rd. Anyways, I needed some caffeine anyways so I ordered a latte. This place serves stumptown and it’s a cute little spot off South St. The barista was really friendly and the latte was seriously one of the best lattes I’ve had in a while(and I get lattes fairly frequently). In terms of a place to hang out, it’s a little smaller and not as well lit for studying and hanging out with people. But it’s still decorated nicely and they’re always playing awesome tunes on the record player. A small hipster coffee shop that actually pours delicious lattes — I just wish it was closer to where I lived!

I cannot understand how a coffee shop cannot have wi-fi? I thought that was mandatory. Ox is a fairly nice place with your typical priced coffee, cappuccinos and latte’s. They have small area in the back with one table to sit and use your laptop(with no wi-fi) or talk to others. They also have a a nice area in the back with a table. By no means a bad place at all, just cannot understand the lack of wi-fi.

The baristas are genuine coffee lovers and know how to make great cappuccino. Best cappuccino in Queen Village. A bit pricey, though.

Nice place, nice people, great coffee, and the guy I talked to knew exactly what he was doing — and didn’t act like a complete douchebag.

A good version of a macchiato served with bubbled water(always appreciated). They use Stumptown beans, which is always a delight to experience outside of Portland. And hey, a good chocolate croissant to boot. Super nice peeps in there as well. You’d do well to find your morning fix here.

Since I’m not a local and didn’t know much about it, I assumed this was just another boutique coffee shop that charges $ 4 for a cup of latte. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much more than a quick pick-me-up, instead, what I got was a swift kick to the butt in midst of my near food coma state. This coffee is no joke. It is rich and dark, and I can see now the $ 4 for a latte from here is a very good deal. I was told later on by a friend that this place has been picked as having better coffee than the ones in the Pacific Northwest, and that says a lot. Speaking of the after lunch slump, that’s where I am now and would love to get another latte from Ox Coffee. The café isn’t all that big, and there aren’t any tables up front, just a couple of benches and a bar counter against the wall. If you walk to the back area, there is a small sitting area with a table. Apparently there’s a garden area as well, but I didn’t get to go check it out. I do hope I get to come back for more coffee. It really is good stuff.

Upon walking in the door, the good vibes hit you right away: the smell of hi-quality coffee from Stumptown, being lovingly brewed and pulled: the friendly banter of the employees with other customers: the sound of a D’angelo lp, crackling on the turntable: the morning sun pouring through the huge front window: the crispy white walls, pressed tin ceiling and chunky woodwork. A café experience to soothe the soul of the South St. streetwalker. The coffee is always delicious, the staff is always friendly, the music is great, the backyard is quiet and comfortable. In a nutshell, OX coffee is a super clean and minimal shop with great coffee and lots of soul i love it.

Living nearby on Queen Street, Ox Coffee has quickly become my favorite coffee shop in Philadelphia. Just walk by the shop and you’re attention will instantly be grabbed by the clean, sophisticated stylings of the logo outside and wooden plank counter inside. All of the baristas are kind and brew a tasty cup of Stumptown espresso beverages. My regular order is an Americano(especially when I need a jolt before studying) and the cappuccino is my treat on the weekends. Trust me, take a trip to Ox for coffee and you’ll be feeling more dapper about your day.

The Coffee scene is growing in Philadelphia, and Ox is one shop that exemplifies the movement towards craft coffee. A minimalist café with local art and a simple menu, Ox stands out as something fresh. They use Stumptown, and they use it well. You can see the baristi weigh out their shots, which, if you’re a coffee snob, is a good sign indeed. The staff overall is well trained, delightful, and fun to talk with. This is a coffee shop worth visiting, for both the novice, average joe, to the experienced barista and coffee snob alike.

Came here to study and easily found a table out back on their cute patio to enjoy the weather. Iced coffee was nice and strong and they brew Stumptown beans, which I’ve never seen outside of Portland, so that’s a nice plus. Wish they had wifi available though.

In my previous experiences at Ox I absolutely adored the lattes I got, and thought the service was wonderful. However I was just told that they no longer will make a breve latte because they don’t order enough half and half. I asked if they could charge me extra. I was in a party of three, and we would have each paid extra for breve, and the barista still refused. This is unacceptably terrible customer service, and I will not be returning.

Available seating at a coffee shop? On a weekend? Say it ain’t so! Great coffee. Dedicated baristas. Clean layout. If you like Stumptown, that’s what they brew. If you don’t know what Stumptown is, come on in and get a pour over and learn all about the third wave coffee movement. Not to be missed.

There’s probably a better place to get a cappuccino somewhere in the United States of America, but I haven’t yet found it… in the other fifty states! Simple Pure Feel like you are in espresso heaven, especially everything!!!

I was lured to this place by the jar of dog treats for my puppy. I am now super addicted to this quaint cute spot and this is becoming part of our weekend ritual. Coffee as well as the mocha latte when I was craving something sweet always hits the spot. They are friendly and are very serious about the quality of their drinks with fair prices taking all of this into consideration.

I stopped in Ox on a Sunday morning, hoping to drink a good latte and get some studying done. I was a little concerned when I first walked in, noticing the little bar off to the right of the counter that Ox may not be the best place to sit and read for a couple hours. There’s another little room in the back with one table and some more benches, but unfortunately someone was already sitting at the table(and I would’ve felt like a jerk taking up the only table for 4 by myself). I squeezed in at the bar, which was just big enough for my iPad mini to fit on it. The latte was delicious and among the best in Philly, and the staff was super friendly(why Ox is getting 5 stars instead of 4) and we chatted a bit before I sat down to read. While I definitely won’t come back here to study, I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area and want a caffeine fix.

Stumptown coffee brewed by people who know what they’re doing. Haven’t tried the espresso yet, but I’ll definitely be back. Not a lot of seating, definitely better if you just want to sit and relax for a minute than to actually hunker down with a laptop.

This place has been on my coffee shop list for a bit, so I was super happy to have two obliging friends to join me here last weekend. The inside is clean, white, and minimal, with beautiful ceilings and lighting. The people behind us brought in their dog, which always makes me happy to see. I love a good dog-friendly coffee shop! It was a hot and humid day, but they had many fans(no AC I don’t think) and the barista was very friendly and chatty. They were also playing records, which is a plus in my book. If I had to complain, it would be that they don’t roast their own beans(they serve Stumptown), but luckily Stumptown is delicious. My iced latte was perfect, and we were able to comfortably sit and chat for a bit. The space is small, but I didn’t get to see the back room, and I may have seen online that they have a patio?! I’ll have to come back and investigate :)

Stumptown coffee has become a favorite of mine, and this place has it. Their prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, and I didn’t wait in line any time I went there for an espresso or iced coffee.

We were in Philly over the Holidays, and many businesses were closed on New Year’s day, thankfully Ox decided to stay open. There isnt a lot of seating at Ox, so most people take their coffee to go. My latte was great but why i am giving five stars is for the service. We had a 20 min chat with the barista. He not only seemed interested in our travels, but recommended places to go while in Philly. Great neighbourhood coffee shop, i would definitely come back.
